Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
...Have you been getting updates on your frame?  I haven't heard anything since I put in my order two weeks ago. Adam said they had standard weight BSA in stock at the time.
One thing that has been said already many times in this forum.
Ordering direct is not like buying from a shop.
You are your own importer, and many things can happen, so you need some patience.

While waiting ~6 months for this one, I'm about to hit my record, it happens but always ends well, so I'm fine.
In the meantime, I've received a dozen of other frames from them too.
One took only 3 weeks, between ordering, painting and shipping.

Re: Light Carbon LCFS917 XC Frame
...Now that someone got one I'll spill the beans on mine...
Are you happy with the combo Mezcal/Barzo?
Do you ride with them in the mud sometimes?
I ride with Barzo for a year now, and found them much more grippy and equally rolling than Rocket Ron's.

Re: F12 "chinarello" There is a post about one: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,1205.0.html
If I remember well, there is another one somewhere if you scan the road bike category.

But I think that you'd be better to select one of the popular frame sellers here that build their own models, and stand behind it.
Than some unknown seller on ali or ebay, that will happily sell you clones of uncertain quality and disappear in case of trouble.

On the other hand, China is big, and Ali has more and more good offers, we don't know yet.
The frame you see maybe good too. As usual, check the vendor reputation, the number of orders they got. And the feedback.
Remembering the feedback is asked to people when they just unboxed, when confirming they received the item, so in general quite poor.

Re: XCADEY XPower-S Power Meter €219
Yes that was with the 5$ USD option for shipping too. Not the 20$ option. :) Power is amazing, no more lying to myself.

More than not lying, it is useful !

Here's my most useful usage:
When you attack, you are clearly in the red for a moment.
But then, when you dropped everyone, keep the effort just below your critical power, you do not drain your battery anymore, but the dropped need to make the same effort you did to catch you.

The critical power is something you can evaluate with goldenCheetah an open source software I feed from my strava account.
Below the CP you recharge your battery, over the CP, you exhaust it.
And like everything in nature it is logarithmic !

And you have as well an estimate of your kJ reserve, and how deep you can dig before bonking.

A more pacific usage ;) is how fast you can do a long climb to insure you keep the same effort up to the top.

Re: Carbonda FM909
Pretty much the same geometry as the 936. I like the two water bottle mounts.
That is a clear advantage of having the shock horizontal, instead of vertical.
Are there any others? Weight of the pivot? Better anti squat?
Or disadvantages?

Re: Carbonda FM909
It looks like Flybike FM1206 that is claimed to 1950g normal and 1650g (!!) super light
http://www.flybike-asia.com/product/179.html

Yeah... we discovered few months ago where Carbonda get their nice frames from 8)
Flybike seems B2B only.
Still unsure if going direct with Flybike will not be more pains than gains, than through Carbonda service(paint, more shipping options, QC before shipping,...).
Well... @PappaZ was quite successful with it recently: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,3028.msg24692.html

Re: Carbonda FM909
AHHHH they're not the manufacturer? wow, make it more surprising that their website is not great!

Well it is not that clear as usual when you try to know where frames are really coming from.
@Sissypants who seems living there or well connected, said something like Carbonda had a good engineering team, that they were designing/making molds, etc.

As long as they provide great frames and keep their excellent service, we don't really need a nice web site 8)
Flybike's site is quite impressive though.

Re: Carbonda FM909
1650 without paint and 1750 with paint;)
Or maybe they don't want us complaining for grams anymore, taking a reserve.
And we'll then say... wow, my XL is 50g less than advertised ! :D

Re: Advice for my 1st build See it positively, it is lighter than a disc version  ;)

For the disc brakes, if you go with Ali, the ZRACE hybrid cable/hydro brakes look good:

Soon to be tested.

The Sensah story is cute, SRAM leave a place, and people with the knowledge reopen the factory and build products.
I will start to build bikes with it soon.
