Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
Dude, all they had to do was ask your permission and give you ample credit as a valued customer. They should now offer you a custom 0 setback seat post for the inconvenience!

I told them I would accept a MTB frame as compensation. More almost free publicity for them... But I guess not...

Tip for EU buyers on Ali: buy in USD and not EUR Little tip: buy in USD on Aliexpress and let your credit card company do the conversion to EUR. This of course depend on the fees your CC company charges, but my Visa Gold seems to have a great conversion rate with almost no fees (as far as I can see).

If you let Aliexpress do the conversion, you will almost certainly pay more.

Re: trifox x18 I have yet to encounter a truly honest and trustworthy frame seller on Aliexpress...

  • The OG-Evkin MTB frame I bought developed a crack and the seller lied for 6 weeks to me about a replacement frame. They blocked me in the end so their warranty means nothing.
  • The TFSA frame is nice, but there were problems with production and shipping and the seller was not really very communicative about those. I also asked them for a quote for frame only after I crashed my first frame.  They told me they would let me know, but they never got back to me. I decided to get the Hygge frame
  • The Hygge frame looks great and communication with the seller was also very good, but afterwards the seller and a couple of distributors stole my pictures off this forum and used the for advertising... Hygge themselves removed them in the end but the distributors just laughed in my face and blocked me on IG

When I was researching the TFSA frame, I also communicated with Delihea about their frames, and communication was very good. They advised against a fully internal handlebar.

Re: Gravel bike frames suggestions
i can vouch for the VB GF002.
If you use alu rims, then you can probably run rim brakes. Otherwise, you'd be mad, you'd very likely melt your resin.
I have 160 front and rear and it's not enough (IIIpro semi hydraulic brakes w Jagwire keb sl housing). I bought a 180mm adapter for the rear i m yet to install.
On the road, it's fine. But when you re going down sketchy stuff (like long, steep, and crap road), the brakes start howling. Basically you need to be able to virtually stop on short notice, from any speed, on any terrain, on any incline, whereas when you're on the road, you never have crazy inclines or hairpins because cars wouldn't be able to handle them.
Idk if full hydraulic brakes would change that.
I get howling discs when they overheat. The good thing is that they still brake. But you get embarrassed of braking because you're loud AF, and it's just supremely annoying to be loud like that.
I'm 82kg.
Full hydraulic is waaaayyyy better than those semi hydraulic ones... I tried the br02 and br05 brakes and they were absoluut crap compared to the 105 and Ultegra calipers I replaced them with... I regret not having done that sooner and wasting all the money and time on those crap calipers, different cables and different pads to try to get them to work.

Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort
Where do you guys get your bearings for the novatec wheels?

Particularly

Novatec D412SB-CL: 15267
Novatec D411SB-CL: 6803
Novatec A291SB-SL: 689
Novatec F482SB-SL: 6802 and 15267

I buy most of my bearings here:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Is it just the bad quality or does this picture look doctored?

Apart from that, call me old-fashioned, but molding that r-slur ass-ymmetric spider directly into the crank arm seems so many levels of wrong.

It looks kind of crap... I have got the PR3 on my Indoor bike. Looks great and you can get cheap chainrings for it.

Re: Yishun R086-D Aero Road
Here is my first look video I uploaded last week, in case anyone missed it. So far I've ridden around 350mi/560km. It's a fantastic. This past weekend I took it out for a 85 mile ride and it performed exactly as I expected. Smooth and fast.

But that's just a crappy Chinese frame... Would it not be better to buy a real brand like this Prorace?  ;D https://prorace.be/en/bikes/aero/randa-dsq/

It's on their website: "100% Belgian Brand
Every bike is a unique piece of art
With a passion for cycling"
