Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Would be good if you and anyone else who bought the frame document the build process to see if there's any flaws etc. Also would this frame fit a coil?

The current hightower v2 can barely run a coil with its flip chip on the low setting. This frame doesn't have a flip chip and so it mimics the hightower in its high setting . So i highly doubt u can run a coil in the frame

Gentlemen,

Do we need any disc brake adapter for this frame?  I believe it is rated for 180mm disc.  As such, is the brake adapter required?  Thank you for your confirmation advance.

For example:  https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002284268224.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.21c12b80IzDeqZ&algo_pvid=5835006c-dce4-43c1-a71f-1dc7723c2d37&algo_exp_id=5835006c-dce4-43c1-a71f-1dc7723c2d37-0&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2212000019910969372%22%7D

hi man if you gonna be using a 180 mm rotor for your rear brake then you wont have to get an adapter

I'm intended to mount the Shimano M8120 brake to the frame.

Would anyone who completed the bike can share with me the image of your brake setup?  Thank you for sharing the info with me.

Bsam.

hi man if you are gonna use a 180 mm rotor for your rear brake then you wont not require an adapter.
if your question is if you need an adapter to run 4 pot brakes, you do not need an adapter. Both 4 pot brakes and 2 pot brakes share the same mounting.

that being said i have not assembled mine

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread! Something to note about installing a ztto bb

1) it really tight in my frame could be paint over spray or something but i had to use a bb press to get the non drive side in first.

2) as the non drive side is in and if you use the bb tool that is included with the ztto bb  to tighten the drive side bb in be prepared to be the quite long and have a frustrating time trying to aline the tool with the groves of the bb

3) i opted to use a bb cup tool so it was alittle easier but the paint work on the frame is quite thin and scratches off quite easily.

Tldr: if u want perfect paint work, stick with the regular pressfit bb. If u want an easier time with the ztto bb get urself a bb tool that cups over the whole bb.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Here comes the answer to my trouble: I installed the cane creek spacer and then the stock headset, it looked unstable; then I tried adding on top the stock spacer ring, better but still unstable; so I blamed the stock expander not pulling enough, today I will receive a star nut, but the reality as said above is that the angles don't match. So I will need a cane creek headset or a different bearing that probably isn't easy to find. Again time and money waste  :'(.
This project isn't a breeze, when I built another bike I made everything in one day and half with no issues. Here every day comes a surprise  :o.

You will probably need a cane creek bearing cause iirc cane creek doesn't use 45x45 bearings

And thats kinda the thing with buying a china bike its bag of surprises
