Re: Are AliEx/open mold carbon bikes common in your area? I think I haven't seen any other Chiner bike in wild, neither on- or offroad, besides my friend who owns a Carbonda and a Velobuild.

The "normie" is scared of Carbon, especially if it's off AliX / directly from China and gets some massive overtraveled EMTB through a company bike lease scheme.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I have an older bike with shimano 10s which i refuse to ride because the shifters are horrible on your hands, i might have to pick these up

Just make note, Sensah PHI is for older 10 speed 105/Ultegra/Dura Ace. Sensah Quantum is for 10 speed Tiagra 4700 which has the same pull ratio as 11 speed 105/Ultegra/Dura Ace.

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets I'm planning to give my LTwoo R9 hydro shifters another try, especially since I received a pair of ZRace XG brake calipers that are surprisingly small/light. Even with the heavier hydro shifters, I should be within 100g of my older mechanical 105 shifters+Juin Tech calipers combined weight. I think for vastly improved braking, 100g is worth the weight penalty.

I opted to swap my drop bars with another a set of Alpha Pasca drops (from AliEx/Amazon) that have separate cable/hose holes for the shifters/brakes. I think my other drop bars were giving the LTwoo front FD shift cable issues on the cable pull. All cables exit through two spacious holes by the stem. The bars come in sub 200g and still feel quite stiff. I also swapped my shift wires to thicker Shimano spec wires, which I find just have better pull and feel with Shimano derailleurs. I find the supplied LTwoo shift cable wires too thin and easier to fray for my liking.

Re: Terrible customer service by Carbonda Email replies delayed by 1 day? After reading the word terrible in title I thought they sent cracked frame, then left you high and dry and blocked you on social media. Communicated extensively with Wing over emails and his was the most detailed conversation by Chinese open mold seller's standard. Same for Adam (over messenger) - sent me detailed diagrams, all technical information about 696 and I didn't even buy that frame from there. All in all, I wouldn't call that as terrible.

4 TPU tubes + patch kit for less than $13 USD:

I purchased a set of these Newboler tubes recently. One didn't hold air at all - a leak near the valve. The other failed after the second time I inflated it - it was flat the morning after. Luckily I got a quick refund from the seller. This was in two different wheel/tyre combos, with brand new tyres.

Re: DTSwiss E 1800 or cheap chinese wheelset? Here's an orthogonal advice 8)
Keep your $300, save $200-300 more.
And in a few months buy yourself shiny carbon rims with bitex hubs and pilar spokes.
You won't regret it.

Re: Expensive world tour bike snaps into two
For some reason bike marketers generally use the UCI badge as a form of signaling the level of quality of a frame. That's what I am trying to say.

No matter the branding or stickers involved in a super high end bike, I as a customer would be fully satisfied if the frame can withstand this kind of abuse in this SAVA bike frame abuse video :D :D
I'm pretty sure that scott frame would not survive such abuse.
Basically with that scott, one crit race crash and your super expensive frame is gone forever.

I wouldn`t give a sh** about such "tests". In my opinion, this tells absolutely nothing about the quality and functional stability of a frame.
The challenge is to design a frame (or rather its carbon layout) so that it meets the requirements of cycling, but not that you can run over it with your car or that it withstands smashing it against a curb (-> he wouldn`t have done that with one of the main tube agains an edge since they are a lot thinner.)
Of course i would also prefer a sturdy frame for crit racing, but i dont believe the way to find it is watching out for one that withstands such completely unrelated abuse.

Of course a Frame shouldnt snap in a minor accident but this is what you get with a regular frame which doesn`t try to save the last 150 grams.

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame Would you be able to measure the tire clearance for me? I know airwolf says 40mm, but I’m hoping it’s more like an aspero at 45mm… Thanks!

Re: Trouble bleeding the brakes on Lcfs911
Hi guy's I'm having trouble with bleeding the brakes, I've been trying in several different ways but I cant get the rear brake to it's full potential.

My guess is that it is air in the hoose under the crank, I've been whipping the handle, twisting the handle, tried to bleed the brakes according to shimanos guide, I've been trying to do it the traditional way as you do it on cars but I'm a not satisfied.

Is there anyone else that's been having the same kind of issues?

You can pump the brake lever like 50-100 times over to accumulate the pressure. After that, open up the bleed port on the shifters, place a funnel with some oil and pump some more until the air is fully removed. It's my fall back method when nothing else works.

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame I have now received my wheels.

2023 Ryet Gravel Carbon Wheelset with 36t rachet style hub. They weigh in at 1490g which is approx. 60g heavier than the quoted 1430+/-30g.
30mm wide hookless rim and 38mm deep.
They were well packaged and seem well finished. Came with tape installed and 2 spare spokes and 2 spare nipples.

Now just waiting on final parts to arrive so I can commence my build. Should have everything within the next 1-2 weeks.

Will be built with a mix of Shimano 12 speed Di2:
- Ultegra levers, brakes, 50/34 compact crankset
- 105 front and rear derailleurs

Already have 11-30t and 11-34t Ultegra cassettes which I'll use initially and grab a 105 11-36t when they are available.

Tyres wise I ended up purchasing Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H in 35mm width. I was a bit concerned about clearance and the potential for front derailleur to further decrease clearance. When these turn up I will mount to wheels and measure clearance.
