Re: Chinese SC/AM831 Group Buy
Posted in the other thread as well. Sent a message to topfire. Production is starting after chinese new year for larger sizes. Price is 680usd so not as good as the inital 499usd price. 10pcs less $30 50pcs less$50.

Thanks for the info. Not sure if it's worth the effort for a $50 dollar discount? Open to the opinions of the group.

Pretty disappointing how the original seller just bailed out of the deal.

Spoke to jenny from miracle, frames won't be available till May.
Haha, did she specify May of which year?

Re: ICAN P9 build I got a 2021 lyrik ultimate with 42mm offset, I take it the smaller offset will make the wheelbase slightly shorter and easier to turn in to corners.

Re: ICAN P9 build Took it for its first spin today, climbs better than I thought it would tbh, not a great climbing bike or anything but it gets you there (although funnily enough I got a PB on the main climb), the 28t oval ring up front probably helps a lot. Lockout on the storia shock is lovely too.
The descending is going to take some getting used to  ;D this is my first 29er and it has made all my tricks for getting around awkward features on the trails absolutely irrelevant, I fully understand the term monster truck now. Scary the speed it carries once going, and that shock is just buttery smooth, hitting top 3 in my Strava times on my first runs.
So far, really really impressed. Heading out again tomorrow on it.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy Thread! There is a shop near me that does carbon repair and can do x-ray service on frames (spyder composites). I am thinking about reaching out to them for a quote on an X-ray and, depending on price, getting the scan done on the frame when I receive it and sharing the results here to give us all a better idea of the integrity of the frame before we all send it on the trails. Let me guys know what you think, and whether or not it would be completely unnecessary or useless and something I should just not do.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread! This frame is modeled after the hightower but it's not an exact copy so it's close but not exactly the same. It also doesn't have the flip chips and the cascade link changes kinematics and I think I remember is 10mm longer in at least 1 dimension so I'm sure it does change things from how the original behaves. While it's possible the seat could buzz the tire, I'm betting the specified 210x55 will work just fine.

I have most parts except for a few still trickling in and was told about a week ago it was heading to paint so hopefully will ship soon. I can try to document the build with pictures if anyone is interested? We are the first ones building it up and can hopefully help each other out if anyone has problems.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Also would this frame fit a coil?

I believe this was answered. The Santa Cruz does not fit a coil shock, so this frame most likely does not either. Check https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-US/bikes/hightower#technical-support
