Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I am not trying to add negative publicity, rather add a simple piece of truth, and a way to deal with it. Again, now that I used the tape, the groupset is working like magic.

Re: 48/32 or 46/30 chainrings for road crankset
After a few years with an XX1 Eagle cassette, on my gravel and many other happy builds, I'm not sure I agree with that 8)

I think the problem is my location! It's all urban flats, with the only off-road being steep mountain climbing. My ideal climbing gears would be anywhere between a 40-44t big and a 24-28t small. I prefer not to increase my cassette size to keep the gear ratios a bit tighter and have a more road-like shifting experience. I tried 1x and it just blows when I want to haul ass on the roads.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
I am having issues with my Erx- randomly working/not working and being slow to respond (it's been very wet here) while working fine with the app but not the brifters (which have new batteries in them and the system is fully charged).  Would you be able to describe in more detail what you did with the duct tape? Did you wrap a small piece around where it plugs into the mech or ?? I'm not quite sure how to follow your suggestion and I would LOVE to have a working set!

Step 1:
Disconnect the cables from both derailleurs
Step 2:
Be absolutely sure there is no moisture in the cable or port on the derailleurs. Thoroughly inspect with a flashlight, and let it dry overnight if you want to be absolutely sure.
Step 3:
Rear derailleur: create a strip of ductape (2cm x 5cm), connect the cable and wrap it around the derailleur + cable to make a tight fit. Press down on the ductape to ensure no moisture will get in. Make sure the tape surpasses the "cup" (poor design) which fits the cable.
Front derailleur: unmount the whole unit so you have better access to the port. And repeat the process for the FD. This one of more finicky, but just try to make sure you have a reasonable connection. The FD is less likely to ingress water as the port is downward facing, whereas the RD is essentially a convex shape, waiting to pick up rain.
Step 4:
Ride!

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
Can't you use some dielectric grease?

It amazes me how people keep defending Ltwoo and these groupsets with all these problems... It's not like we're talking about a 125USD Sensah mechanical groupset...
It's like buying a frame, seeing it has a crack when it arrives and saying: "I'll just put some epoxy on there and ride it, it's the cost of being an early-adopter"
It’s just show the desire from many to see a viable third option behind the big two.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
*EDIT: forgot the link*

https://www.zennioptical.com/p/mens-tr-eyeglass-frames/7431?skuId=743134

Very basic design.. if that's a good basic quality, why not?
But not a lot of wind protection.
The clip in systems for cycling glasses do not look very robust in general with the tiny plastic clamps.. for me it's worth to try, I kill my glasses roughly once a year. So probably the clip has a longer lifetime if it's not clipped in and out every day.  ;D

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Do they still have that issue with the hose blocking the fluid channel if inserted too deep that tracevelo had, or are the also the updated version like the IIIpro with that fixed?

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM)
There's also a TX-R7101-SGS derailleur mentioned there - TX is for road, but SGS is long cage. It might be that this is a wide-range 2x option.

If it's a 2x gravel electronic groupset, I'm sold. I hate 1x. I prefer riding to the trails which requires doing road miles beforehand. I find driving to a trail just to ride a bike to be incredibly lame. Probably accounts for why most of MTB'ers I see in my area are switching to e-bikes to make up for their lack of fitness!

Save us magene

This is quite literally Magene's warranty policy: https://support.magene.com/hc/en-us/articles/900002358986-Warranty

I got served this bullshit when the integrated chainring on my $500 QED crankset/powermeter went out of true. They sent me a new chainring "out of generosity", but never refunded me. I'm pissed. They damn well know the product is defective because they pulled it from the shelves, but never made me whole.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I no longer have any cables on any of the bikes I ride other than my dropper post cable.  Hydraulic brakes and Electric wireless shifting eliminated the need for those cute little plugs...

How are you liking the Wheeltop for gravel? Are you okay not having a clutch? I'm not sure I want to chance going electronic on my gravel bike. If the groupset dies, I'm usually on more remote mountain trails. I am debating converting my other road bike also to electronic. Contrary to other user experiences, my ER9 has been working perfect. Though I wouldn't mind trying the Wheeltop groupset as well.
