Re: Tideace 2022 FS-AM831 Groupbuy C order with new Triangle
Why? Are you hoping that between the two frames you will have enough functional pieces to have one good frame?
Because that's not really a given.

I dont I just wanted to see if Eddy was monitoring this thread, easy enough. So Eddy how about answering Snacks? What are you doing to fix his bike? Is he getting a new one?

Re: Trusted 150mm 29er suggestions The ican p9 frame was a go-to reliable 150mm frame and many stateside "brands" slapped their name on it and sold it, but the geometry has become dated. The fm1002 is slacker and has a steeper seat tube, and it doesn't have a ridiculously long seat tube that limits dropper length like the p9. Check the FM1001/1002 threads, there have been very little issues with the frames other than bad cable grommets and low quality factory headset and bottom brackets. Its a simple frame design so you dont get the benefits of vpp or other fancy suspension designs but you also dont have to worry about a lack of stiffness, your rear triangle breaking, and a shady seller trying to sell you parts to fix your frame that they knew was poorly designed.

Re: Monsuta x Snacks AM831 build I have made the artwork part of several sets of stickers (thin PSA vinyl) and decals (waterslide) but always had somebody else do the printing. The waterslides are just now being applied to my old early gen Ciocc San Cristobal that was almost certainly built when Giovanni Pelizzoli owned the name and the shop. I'll have some pix in a week or so, I'm taking my time as this is my "pandemic" home project. I tried printing my files for the Ciocc decals on "decal stock" in an inkjet printer but the colors were weak. So after some shopping around found a guy in Michigan with an ALPS printer that is "what the pros use" for opaque solid ink decals. Before these Ciocc I made art for a Merlin set (Bob Jackson era) and an Allegro (Swiss) set, both of which were printed on vinyl by JR Anderson of Velocals (fame and infamy!). Pix to come later...

Oh and clear cover? Yes but no, never resort to clear packing tape, it's not that hard to spray a clear coat! The delicate decals require protection, vinyl don't HAVE to be coated but it can ceratinly help. Trick to it: do a test first with some leftovers. Sometimes your clear will melt the precious decals you spent money and TIME to get "just so". It's a heartbreaker! Something like Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic spray is often a "safe go-to", but NOTHING is safe until you've tested and proved it. Always do a very thin "mist-coat" first and let that set before you add on more to build up (again use many thin coats or you risk runs! ) BTDT

Re: And the winner is.... Hi Sitar_Ned, well done to you for organising this and being as transparent as you have been with the process. Obviously, given my vocal objection to the way the sponsor has treated people on this site re a certain frame, I didn't enter but I do have a question for you if I may.

What is to stop anyone that has seen this thread from email Eddy and saying they are mwh0169?  Would it not have been better that initial contact between the two was done through PM here?

Just a thought, and again, thanks and well done.

LightCarbon LCFS958 with Remote Lockout build by PMass Just complete my Chiner frame build. I haven't found any history or write-ups of an LCFS958 that utilize the remote lockout feature, so I figured I'd share my build specs. I wanted to mimic features of the Scott Spark. The biggest challenge with this build was figuring out the specs of the rear shock. It took a decent amount of research. Once I figured out what I needed I bought a donor shock or $235 USD off ebay and sent it to Fox Factory service center for rebuild and customization. The cost to do this customization  was $345 USD.

29er China Frame build by PMass:
19" Pearl White LightCarbon LCFS958 Frame.
Travel = 140mm front / 130mm rear.

Manitou Mattoc Pro front fork, customized for remote lockout. I already had this fork on hand, so I rigged it for 3 position lockout instead of buying a new fork to keep costs down. Technically the Mattoc Pro does not come OEM configured for remote lockout. So I had to do some customizing to make it work. You can use a Fox fork instead that is designed out of the box for 3 position remote lockout.

Fox Float DPS 165x45 rear shock. Customized by Fox Factory to work in this frame for 3 position remote lockout. Details = push to lock, remote position down, Linear Compression Medium, Linear Rebound Medium, Climb Mode Firm, 0.8 Volume Spacer.

Carbon wheels from LC.

SRAM GX Derailleur, Shifter, and Cassette.

SRAM XX1 carbon crank.

Shimano XT clipless pedals.

PNW Components Loam 150mm dropper post.

SQLabs handlebars.

ODI grips.

Scott Twinloc 2 remote with 3 position suspension lockout and dropper post remote.

SRAM Guide Ultimate brake levers with Code R calipers.

Ergon SM Enduro saddle.
