Re: TFSA Carbon Frameset Build-Up
I have to say, there's a real sense of satisfaction after building out a bike. On top of that, on the group ride the bike easily kept pace with cyclists on top tier frames with far more expensive components. I'm amazed at how many roadies I meet who don't even know how to tune their derailleur.

I'm now itching to build more bikes, though I don't think my wife would be too happy to see N+1 bikes all over our house!

I have been raised to be my own mechanic. Cars, bike, what ever.  Right now I am tearing apart the cheap bike I have. Giving it an overhaul. I think its an important thing to know how to take care of your things.  I have repaired so many of my things.

It's been 5 years.. I built four road bikes from Chinese carbon frames between 2017 & 2019.
All of them purchased on eBay with free shipping to USA.

The first one was sent the wrong frame size to me, filed a dispute and got to keep the frameset for free.
After completing the build and test riding it for few weeks,
I sold it to a neighbor who actually fits on it better than me. He's been riding it ever since, with close to 2k miles pedaled.

The replacement frame was sent the proper size that I ordered.
Built up in 2019 and been my all around riding.

Third frame was aero road frame, cable routing was PITA with the handlebar, only wish it had disc brakes.

Last build was a TT frameset, built up with wireless shifting.

All of them have been ridden regularly.
I don't ride nearly as much as I used to since 2020, but still very fun bikes to ride.

Its from the trst official which I think is the thrust clearance store. Or it could be a scam.  I am not sure. Use your judgement. And make a comment of what frame it is and if a scam or not.

Here is the OG thrust store.

Re: rf22 or yfr066 frame So got some time riding this frame on both road and gravel. I don't feel slammed and not fully relaxed.  This could be because my shifters give a longer reach even though I added spacers. This frame has a longer top tube so might be great for some. I feel kinda in the middle of gravel and road bike. It's not bulky and far from an aero bike.

Chainring spacing is important.  Shimano chainrings fit with no spacers. Shimano crankarms with my 46x30 chainrings needs 1 spacer. Need 2 spacers with my goldix crankset. I shouldn't need spacers if I go 1x on Aliexpress gxp crankarms.

Didn't have huge issues during assembly. Running front derailleur cable through its ferrule was impossible with the ferrel screwed into the frame. Handlebars were pretty easy to run hoses. I didn't need to fish line to get 4 hoses through the openings. I used hydraulics instead of compressionless which was so much nicer to run cables but tons longer to get the feel I wanted from bleeding.

The frame does fit 38mm tires I'm sure 40mm is possible but would be extremely close to the chainstays.

Not happy the frame only came with saddle clamps for 7x7 rails. I had to buy 7x9 clamps from another company.  I hope they fit because some 7x9 clamps for this seatpost are stupidly priced.

Paint- was going for blue purple black snakeskin. I tried to get a pealing look but it failed to look good in some spots.  I used plastidip as always.  The plastidip alway rolls back on me on the top tube because my knees rub the frame.  This isn't the pealing look I'm not happy about. I like how the gravel dust looks on the frame. :)

Shifters - Shimano 685

Re: Curious what build weights people are averaging on their bikes? I didn't build my Chinese carbon frames/bikes with particularly lightweight components, but I think they turned out pretty light in comparison to my other road bikes.
2018 Chinese S5 replica 17.4 lb.

2017 Chinese Aero frame 18.45 lb

2018 Chinese carbon TT bike 22.6 lb.

Though not Chinese made, these are my other road bikes for weight comparison.
2001 Litespeed Ultimate  19.16 lb

2016 Lynskey R240   21.0 lb.

I notice you have the same brand wheelset on all your bikes I'm presuming, just curious which brand you're using?

I bought those wheels over 5 or 6 years ago from eBay, seller cannot be found anymore, I think I paid less than $400 for those wheels with free shipping to USA.
25mm width carbon rims with dimples, some generic hubs, bladed spokes; rock solid wheels for me at 175 lb. I think I have at least 3k miles on them, still round & true.

Man I have been looking for a decent S5 "inspired" frame for a while... what is the make and model?

Here is my build. FM208. I got it down to 6kg/13.2lb with a carbon saddle, 1x drivetrain, tubular wheelset + Tufo S3s. Was awful to ride and slow though, so I put my padded saddle back on, went back to 2x and got some aero wheels + GP5Ks. Glides like a dream now.
