Re: New Wheel Day - Elite Wheels BWT Disc

I just check the alibaba vendor,  it says  Type: Tubeless

but is it clincher compatible too ??   I am confused.

TLDR: It's a tubeless ready(TR)/tubeless compatible(TC) rim (these terms are interchangeable)
Meaning that it has a rim profile capable of accommodating a tubeless tire, but will still take a clincher as well.

In reality, most tubeless rims are actually TR
In fact, the difference between TR rim and a standard clincher is pretty small. To the point where some have success converting a clincher rim to tubeless.  YMMV.
The rim profile on the TR just helps a tubeless tire mate better with the rim for a tighter seal.

However, there are dedicated tubeless rims where the spoke holes are covered, and they have a special rim profile to mate with special tubeless tires to create a seal with tape or sealant  (eg UST tubeless).
This is not that type of wheel.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Hi guys,

Question about this frame,  do the bottom of the frame,  under the bottom bracket,
does it have a smal hole to let the water sip in case some water get into the fram when riding in rain or when washing the bike ?
Yes, there is a small hole in the bottom of the frame.

Re: merlincycles.com : taxes for a canadian ?
Hi,

Any canadian in the forum who bought  from merlincycles.com ?
I am wondering if we get the taxes on delivery on it is a gamble ?

Thanks

My guess would be similar to Chainreaction Cycles, it will be hit or miss, but most likely "hit" on a high value item

Re: Recommendation for tools on Aliexpresse: disc brake bleed kit and rotor tool I've used the ezmtb bleed kit with no problems on my shimano shifters & calipers. Recommended.
For truing discs, I just push them with my (degreased) finger  8)

Re: Your thought on Sunshine cassette instead of Ultegra I recently installed a sunshine cassette on my bike. Shifts flawlessly and not noisy at all, apparently the plastic spacers and riveted construction dampen the sound. Can't speak on durability yet, but even if it lasts half as much as a shimano cassette you're getting a good deal.

Re: Your thought on Sunshine cassette instead of Ultegra I have a sunshine, sunrace? sun something cassette. 11-32. Its your standard cassette, its whatever. Probably comparable to a 105. Its loud. I have force axs as well and the noises are night and day.

I have like 500 miles on it and its fine. Nothing fancy shmancy about it and no cassettes are fancy.
