Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Have anyone has problems with shipping with velobuild? I got promised it should be shipped two weeks ago, then the end of the week came and nothing new. Sent Chris a message, he said they would send it after last weeks holiday. The holiday ended Wednesday last week, heard nothing by Friday, so yet again I sent him a message. He said it was already sent and provided me a shipping number. The tracking only says “the sender is preparing item for posting”. It’s been like that for almost a week, aaand again I ask Chris for an update, he said it has been sent, then I get an email from velobuild that the order has been sent. But the tracking update remains the same.

I’m doing a (almost) full Ali build, and didn’t expect the frame to be the last thing to be received.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame I have had the exactly same experience. I have been told a few times it would be shipped a week or so ago. The first delay was due to handlebars not being available. Next they have said the frame needed to be repainted and they were still doing that. No tracking numbers just yet. Im in the same boat. All my components have arrived, just need frame now. Fingers crossed  :)

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Thanks for the replies!
Fortunately today the tracking finally said “the shipment has been collected”, and in the manner of a couple of hours it says “left the country of origin”. So if I’m as lucky as with all the components I’ve received my frame by the end of next week. It’s a r099 tho, just hijacked this thread since it’s active :)

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Frame looks really good!
It looks your installing Di2 if I'm looking at the photo properly.
Where and how are you installing the battery?

Similar experience. My order took 3 months and 1 week from order being placed to receiving it and the delay I was told (in addition to Lunar new year) was due to the unusual size of the bars. Also experienced that the tracking number I was given didn't seem to be updating for a number of days after it was created to the point where I also asked if the the package had actually been shipped.

Working on the build now and it's going relatively smoothly. Managed to figure out the internal cabling without too much issue. Only trouble I ran into last night related to the frame was that the bolts on the fork where the caliper screws into seemed to have some hardened residue on the inside which made mounting the bolts a bit hard. To the point where I was questioning whether they choose a different size other than the standard whatever that is but eventually with a bit of force they went in.

When I was reading that the back brake mounts could take a 160 rotor I thought this meant without the adapter, as in the caliper mounted directly to the frame as I've seen this before but maybe only for 140? Had to mount it with the adapter like my previous frame.

Velobuild custom frame painting and decals Hi All,

Looking to pull the trigger on the R-168, but had a question about painting.

For those who had their frame painted, how would you rate the quality?
Also, has anyone requested decals added to their frame? If so, was there any additional charge?

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Your build looks incredible! I went with the handlebar junction so hopefully all fits well. I will post photos  once I’ve received the frame set. I have purchased a different set of integrated bars because I was a little bit worried about the single bolt wedge system used in the bars included however I’m not sure which set I’ll use.
