Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame It seems that the manufacturer has changed the steering kit, the hardware used to be more varied before.
Otherwise, I have no complaints, the frame looks amazing, I hope it will be the same in use.
The weight for size M with steel screws is 980 grams, the fork with the axle - 388, the seatpost - 202, the handlebar with stem (400/120) - 368.9 grams.

I'd like to specifically note the presence of carbon highlights under the matte varnish of the black version without decals. Usually, manufacturers hide imperfections in the frame's weave under black primer, but in this case, the primer seems transparent. This speaks highly of the manufacturer.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
You guys are really buying this stuff even when youtubers known for loving Chinese stuff gave it a red card?

Well, they are only youtubers....they seems to forget how hard sram failed when starting with their electronic groupsets..i remember a race, where 5 people were sitting at the side of the road not being able to change gears with their sram, sebastian kienle had failures on racing hawaii with sram..
So, why not give LTWOO the time to get stuff done...
We are currently planning to sell these units, even with aliexpress selling it lower than we buy directly, but customers are in the market for budget custom gravel builds....and it is great for the market....we need to show shimano, that their pricing needs to be adjusted.
the low prices on the shimano di2 sets are made by the dealer ships, shimano has still their high price attitude and in europe, margins are not there....a normal bike shop buys shimano stuff cheaper online at some outlets, than referring to the official distributor...

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Thoughts on this super light, one piece $100 stem? Size 100 clocks in at 68 grams. Disaster waiting to happen?

I think this was discussed somewhere in another thread. Someone worded it nicely, only buy if you don't value your teeth. A cheap copy of an already very fragile product can't be trustworthy. If you're that worried about weight, the classic cheap UNO stem and shaving your pubes will yield the same result for cheaper and is safer

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! A short review of these 'The One' style handlebars from Kocevlo:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004973884034.html

Bought in 380*100mm to fit a 2023 Merida Scultura (FSA ACR). One-piece bar and stem was a good opportunity to replace the heavy separate FSA stem and Merida branded handlebar that came with the bike. I bought this particular bar as it seemed to be compatible with the FSA ACR system.

Pros:
- Weight: 330g for 380x100mm - up there with some of the seriously lightweight options.
- Stiffness: I'm a lightweight climber-type build (67kg, 900w peak power) so I'm not really stretching these things to the limit, but there's no incredibly obvious deflection when I sprint out the saddle.
- Shape: Excellent modern compact style handlebar shape.
- Price: 100USD including integrated Garmin mount kit (which seems nicely made)
- Minimalist looks: only one sticker, and easy to remove by fingers

Cons:
- Routing: I didn't do this myself but my mechanic said that the bars had quite sharp edges inside that made routing the hoses particularly difficult. This was brake hoses only as it was a 12sp Shimano Di2 build.
- Shifter clamp: Shifter clamp area was undersized and clamp needed to be shimmed.
- Headset compression: my mechanic said he had to modify the bottom transition spacer as the Scultura top headset bearing sits fairly deep inside the tube - without modification it wasn't making sufficient contact to set the preload properly.

For the price, seems good, but be aware of the potential issues.

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress? The good which I will order again or have ordered multiple times already:

1. Blackbird GPS mount: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803662704812.html - Love the look. Minimalist and stable. Have it on 3 bikes.
2. RISK bar end plugs with expander : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800099911213.html
3. XOSS light : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804318675408.html - minimalist black monoblock design that goes really well with the Blackbird mount above.
4. Ultralight cassettes for road (Not MTB) : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800045575507.html - Sunshine is just one, many others make same design. Had good luck with road cassettes but not MTB. Stick to 11-28/30. Have it on 3 bikes.
5. No name, unbranded carbon saddle : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804373322850.html - Used to be $18 and arguably the best one I have found. As good as MIXD branded ones. Its unfortunate they have increased the prices. Have it on 2 bikes.
6. TOWILD light : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256802488550065.html - way better battery life than XOSS but isn't slick. Battery can be taken out and replaced on the fly, excellent beam.
7. ZNIINO H corner bard copy : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804059388076.html - Fantastic. No flex, super light and just plain clever (thanks to Surly). Bought 3 times.
8. Garmin Varia tail light mount : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804675184906.html - Amazon sells these for $12 each. Get 10 pack from Alix for $25.

Money down the drain products:

1. Cyplus/blackbird/Moots and what not speed-cadence sensors: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2261800105285991.html
2. Cheap ZRACE rotors : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804147936070.html - couldn't stop their wailing. Not cheap either. Get Shimano RT30/56 for same price but better performance with resin pads.
3. Cyclami ultralight tubes : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803947217839.html - slow leaks, damage during installation, leak from valve base. Everything that could go bad went bad - except actual flat from foreign object.
4. Tiny underseat bag : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804445576703.html - trash
5. Tubeless rim tapes - avoid all from Alix.
6. RISK colored screws for stems - Not Ti. Poor soft material that strips easily.
7. Sunshine MTB 12 speed cassettes : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803959318100.html - too much variation between cassettes. Could not index two of them. Poor QC. Hit or miss, buy at your own risk.
8. Cheap $5-6 bar tapes
9. Ceramic jockey wheels - your shifting will suffer. Don't matter how cool they look or for what derailleur they are being used. Every single derailleur I used them on (105 R7000, Ultegra R6800 and 8000, SRAM Red 22) caused shifting to go bad.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Did 140km on the Kocevlo bars today and they felt great - shape of the bars is good, flats on the top feel very comfortable and basically no noticeable flex when I'm putting an effort in.

Sounds great, i am also thinking about getting those bars!
You mentioned that a sticker is easily removed. Are you talking about that white "Kocevlo" branding? that was actually holding me off from placing an order since I always read "Cock-Velo" :D
So great news, if that can be removed without residues.

And are the measurements true to size in your opinion? E.g. Hood/Drops width, reach, stem length, angle? I read a lot of contradicting statements regarding that barstem (from different manufacturers)

Thanks!

Yes, I'm talking about the white 'Kocevlo' sticker. I could mostly peel it off with my fingers and the residue came off easily with some acetone.

As for measurements, I have taken some very rough measurements just with a measuring tape by eye:

Code: [Select]
                      | Specs               | Actual                                                      | Difference
----------------------|---------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------|-----------
Stem Length           | 100mm               | 110mm (+10mm longer)                                         | +10mm
Tops centre-to-centre | 380mm               | 380mm (right on)                                             | 0mm
Drops centre-to-centre| 400mm               | 405mm (+5mm wider)                                           | +5mm
Reach                 | 77mm                | 70mm (-7mm) - measuring accuracy uncertain                   | -7mm
Drop                  | 127mm               | 130mm (+3mm) - close enough, could be measuring error        | +3mm
Weight                | 520g±20g (full pkg?)| 330g (bar/stem) + 30g (Garmin mount) + ~25g (spacers, est.)  | -135g

I don't have a way of measuring the angle but it looks about right, I guess.

I have the same bars on my Hygge bike. I had no problems routing the 4 cables (brakes and shifting) trough the handlebar.

Excellent! Maybe it's a matter of slight differences between bars, slightly different dimensions and I expect my fairly upright shifter position probably means there's a little less room for cables after they exit the bars (see pictures).

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame I've finally finished my build but yet to test as I'm still a few weeks away from getting back on the road from my shoulder surgery. Still need to source some wheels so I just used my zipps from my Orbea Orca aero to finish the set up.

In all was a pretty simple build, electric shifting so only disc brake cables to route (we'll see on how long they last). With the zipps, magene powermeter, pedals and everything else weight is 7.7kg.

Hopefully I will have the same feedback as others on here.

Re: Yishun R068D r096.
I ask to yishun and they were really fast to responde.
unfortunatly the frame is not in the warehouse and is not planned to build a small quantity so i think that i need to change my project
in alternative they propose 1018 frame, looks amazing but the geometry doesen't fit me very well (too much stack and to short reach, picture attached)

Re: Magene P505 PES Base Spider Powermeter I have the P505 Base with the cranks from Magene. Price was $300 USD with free shipping. Installation was very simple. Straight swap from my Shimano 105 cranks, preload the non driveside and then a single pinch bolt. I'll post the weights below. So far, data has been tracking spot on with my Favero Assioma pedals except in one condition. It does not work well with oval chainrings...sort of. So my setup is a little weird. I do a round outer ring and an oval inner ring. This is why the Magene has problems. It's a well documented "issue" that spider power meters overestimate oval chainrings. Which isn't a problem in itself because you can adjust the offset of the PM. So if you're running a single ring oval, just can adjust it down to be accurate. Or if you're running 2x oval. The problem I'm having is that it's accurate for the round outer ring, but reads high when in the small oval ring. My solution is that I ordered a round inner ring. It's on the race bike and I wanted to get bigger chainrings anyways, so I'm fine with using round rings. The other option would have been to just know in my head that the readings were 10W off in the small ring, but my solution seemed simpler.

Overall, very happy with it. I wanted a cheap, accurate PM for my crit bike and this is it. Easy swap if you're running Shimano, and very accurate readings with round rings. I would buy again for sure. Magene is also making a pedal PM that looks promising but it's going to be a bit more expensive.

Weights
PM Spider: 112g
Driveside crank arm and spindle: 312g
Non driveside arm and preload bolt: 213g
Total weight (no chainrings): 638g
