Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
Hi Benny, what's about your frame now?Has the assembly been completed?
post some photos pls.

sorry for my English, i am Malaysian, bear with it

here i gonna share my build that finish last week, and been participated a DH competition in malaysia mersing,
frame size is M size

Parts :
FOX 36 grip 2 160mm
FOX float X2
Formula CURA 4 4 piston brake
(gonna change to deore 4 pot due to compatibility to frame and deore 4 pot is the best brake and value in my humble opinion)
Shimano m9100 rotors
MULLET setup: entity SLX 29/27.5 (from polygon T8/7)  gonna try LC rim when the bills pile up
Shimano deore 1x12 CS
Shimano deore FC crank
Shimano XTR RD
Shimano pro 50mm stem
Shimano pro handle bar
Shimano pro seatpost
FOX transfer 175mm dropper (not recommend it, too long even with 180cm height)
vinyl wrap Mazda soul red but turnout it more like a charry red

I did printed out the mudguard that shared by Tjhosan to see is it fit float x2,
however it is a blind section, i guess it is ok, as i survive 2 feet drop and huge road gap without cracking the mudguard..

geometry is superb, came from polygon t8 L size 29er user, this bike felt light to control on air, fun, rock garden section became so much controllable compare to T8

to the dropper length, 175mm dropper definitely is a huge NO for m size frame, i barely use 125 of droppers travel, and i am a 180cm height person
the 130mm insert is not enough to make the dropper comfortable either climbing nor moving in the air.
gonna change to 150mm dropper, and i guess it will be perfect as it will lower down at least 25mm length at retreated position.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Now that I did some research apparently 2x spacers on the drive side and 1x spacer on the non-drive side seem standard for certain crankset setups. Anyways, I think the crankset looks pretty good. Lifting the bike it feels noticeably lighter. Plus the Ultegra SM-BBR60 threaded bottom bracket is only about 76g. I guess I'll ignore the minor ramping pin chain rub in the small/small combo, I rarely ever use that gearing anyways. I'm on the fence if I want to get this crankset for my 2x gravel bike though. That bike sees significant abuse when gravel riding and going fast isn't much a priority. I still need to test out the bike on a real ride.

FYI: Apparently these carbon cranksets will go on sale tomorrow. I'll definitely order another set!

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Need to see more of this seller! hahaha thanks for a laugh. After reading reviews on many products I often wonder if some people should be buying parts online and working on bikes on their own.

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29 Winters are long here in northern sweden so i did some more cad work.
This came to be because i could not use my fidlock bottle holder with my oneup pump mount. The bottle needs to be able to twist to release and would hit the pump.
My design puts the pump lower out of the way. And then i got to thinking it would be fun to "even out" the design with something on the other side of the bottle holder. So i put a little box there that fits two co2 cartridges, but it can hold other stuff aswell. It is designed to fit the downtube quite snuggly, just enough room for some padding material.
I printed it in carbon fiber reinforced nylon but could be printed in abs or some other strong filament.
If anyone is interested i can upload the files!

Re: BXT-MTB-117 150mm AM bike
Those swing links look much more solid. My first impression of the 831 — before we even knew about the flex/play issue — was that its links looked like they’d have questionable longevity.

My son built up this frame (BXT MTB-117).  I can confirm that all the pivots are now thru axle.  I have attached a picture of the top pivot.  It's massively overbuilt.

A few things to note:

1.  The rear post mounts are default for 180mm rotors (not 160mm as shown on the specs.)
2.  Internal routing was fiddly and in the the case of the rear hydraulic hose, a little tight at the head tube.  Either the opening diameter was undersized, or there was a burr in there. We needed to open up the hole a little.
3.  24mm bushings for the shock pivots.  Some places still show 22mm.
4.  I do not know why some people seem to think this is some updated version of the Tideace AM831.  The dropouts, bushing sizes, BB mounting standard, and general look are not the same as the latest generation of the AM831.  The front triangle on the BXT is missing the dated "camel hump".  This bump might have been cool in 2015, but not today...
5.  My son is notoriously hard on his bikes and so far there are no issues with flex or failures (but he is under 140lbs so YMMV.)
