Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Noticing that quite a few things on Aliexpress had their prices reduced like that Zniino gravel handlebar. From my wishlist, cues groupset has dropped by 7 bucks, a saddle by 2, and small bits like olives, barbs, screws are all down marginally.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
You are right, I am also seeing prices dropping a little bit... But a lot of items are also getting rather high shipping, sometime more than what the item is worth... The times of free shipping are over it seems  ::)

Which is interesting, because shipping rates for trans-Pacific shipping are nearly back to pre-COVID levels.

Re: Spcycle 2023 New Travel 120mm Super Light 29er full suspension frame Dear All
Thank you for your suggestion.
For SP-M861 frame. We will manufacture two versions.
Version 1, all internal cables, cables passing through the headset.
Version 2, half internal cable, cable does not pass through the headset.
best regards
spcycle

Re: "Bikinge Store" is on my No-purchase from List. I've had good luck ordering bike parts from AliExpress, but I've finally hit a shipping issue with a non-bike related order. My daughter has been ordering stuff from AliExpress and she ordered a bag that seems to be stuck in USPS limbo. It appears to have arrived in the US, but it hasn't moved for the last 2 weeks according to USPS tracking.

I've tried getting a refund, but AliExpress is saying to wait it out before getting a refund. Though I'm glad it's a small purchase and not something big like a bike frame! BTW - I ordered some lightweight disc rotors from the Official Onirii store and they sent a picture of my order before shipping. I love it when AliEx sellers do that. It's those little details that make the buying experience much better.

Re: Action cameras I used some Akaso Cameras: The V50X and the Brave 7.
Generally they work until they don't...

The V50x was a good buy for the money but image quality and stabilisation is not even up to par with a GoPro9.

The Brave 7 is better in terms of image quality and for 150US$ at the time seemed to be a good choice.
However after 2 months the battery lifetime reduced dramatically and finally I found the problem is not the battery but in the electronic that measures the battery state.
Contacting Akaso was useless, they refused to replace the defective camera even after proving the defect by video to them. They just wanted to offer a 50 buck discount when buying a new camera....
Here the video I did showing the problem:

My personal advice is to try a cheap Chinese camera if you want to experiment... Once you decided it is something you really want to do with good image quality, go with GoPro/DJI or Insta360.
I am very happy with a GoPro9, stabilisation even on rough roads is way better than on the Akaso cameras.

When it comes to accessories, e.g. camera mounts or charger and batteries, you will get good deals from 3rd parties on AliExpress.
No need to spend extra money on original accessories at least in my opinion.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I've got some of these AXS pulley wheels from JRC Components on the way. Seems like a quality product, carried by many retailers (mainly in Europe).
I got mine here in the US on Amazon for ~$60. Anyone used these before?

amazon.com/dp/B09GCGMQ94?
jrc-components.com/collections/drive-train

The pulleys came super fast, literally the next morning, so I have a few rides on them already. I didn't take any photos before installing, so you get to see them on my dirty drivetrain  ;D I got the gunmetal color. So far so good, they don't spin as freely as the stock pulleys in my hand, but they do spin more quietly. On the bike the performance is unchanged but they definitely look 10x better :) and are a quieter as well.

I also got these Stone chainrings for AXS. The 48/33 tooth count is a bit strange as stock AXS rings come in 46/33 or 48/35. I think they look really nice and they save a few grams over the stock 46/33 rings. Just installed them, will report on these later.

Re: chinese carbon saddles https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805023659024.html

Lexon/Ryet 3d printed saddle currently $50-55 USD. Sturdy and quite stiff. 3d mesh holds shape with very little to no compression. My new go-to saddle for the price!

Re: New Lexon spirit I took the plunge on the Spirit after watching a couple viddies from this talented Brazilian XC racer, I figured if he ain't breaking it, I definitely won't either.  Here is one of his latest.  If your not that into the frame, prior video images of his foxy GF in riding clothes are so worth it, LOL.

Re: New Lexon spirit I'm so curious to see people post and review this frame here, but it just doesn't seem to materialize.

I'm less worried about breaking the frame and more worried about a loose rear suspension that creaks, clicks, pops, and wiggles after some amount of time. Heck, I'm worried about that on the real Spark, the Chinese clone, even more so.

For what it's worth, I now have 842 miles on my 2023 Spark Team. Frame and suspension have been flawless with zero trouble/maintenance needed.  Headset cable routing has also been fine.  Only consistent issue I'm having is with the Chinese clone Syncros 1-piece stem/handlebar setup; it clicks unless you grease between the stem/steerer tube regularly.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts I'm 5'7" with a 30" inside leg and I ride a small, there's no way I'd want a medium.

I can only just run a OneUp 120mm dropper before it bottoms out in the frame, using 165mm cranks.

Get a small.
