Re: Chinese cycling clothes My experience with YKY: amazing quality but sizing can be trial and error without consistency across models.

Their longsleeve jerseys run 1-2 sizes larger though. I bought European M and it was definitely at least an L.
On the contrary, their short sleeved jerseys fit true to size. A European M is an actual M.

Speeder Cycling SC-R49D Hi all, this is a first time build for me, which I just finished building. This will be a first introductory post to describe my experience. After spending numerous hours (including here on Chinertown) I decided on which bike I would build with the following primary parts:

Speeder SC-R49D (because of the aggressive geometry, and the aesthetics of the wheels "cutting" in the frame)
ER9 (as an entry level priced electronic groupset /  12 speed)
Elitewheels Pro 55mm disc (had good experience with rim wheels before / are friendly priced)
105 crankset
+ 105 power meter (comes from previous bike)

Good:
- the bike is exactly what I expected in to be in terms of aesthetics
- seemingly built well (although I will return here after I had plenty of km's on it)
- reasonably priced (1000 USD for frame, handlebar, headset, fork, seatpost and shipping)
- Speeder is OEM for Winspace
- standard position is VERY aggressive (which is exactly what I was looking for)

Medium:
- sticker on the box mentioned the frame in another size (thankfully the actual frame was correct)
- the communication was alright, although he could have been a bit more transparent in terms of producing / shipping times (only mentioned AFTER purchasing the frame: 3 months)

Bad:
- both headset bearings had a lot of play, which stressed me out as I thought I had a faulty frame. Thankfully, after finding one of patliean1 posts on headset play, I reduced it to almost zero with adding a couple of layers of tape in the socket of the bearings.

Open issue:
Now that the bike is fully built, I wanted to take it on a couple of rides. However, I can already feel it pedals very heavy and even backpedaling feels heavy as well. Both wheels spin very freely, and the crank set without chain also somewhat freely (my old bike was better in this regard).  I just tried pedaling back, and it seems like the cassette does not want to spin, as the chain will just lose tension and curl up.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Re: Eddie's Airwolf YFR066 Build Thread Small update--I ended up getting some more odds and ends during Black Friday:

-Magene P505 power meter (will use my Shimano Ultegra chainrings)
-Brake bleed kit
-Internal housing foam/damper
-Brake hose cutting tool
-ExAid ultralight bottle cages
-OG-EVKIN bar tape

Nearly everything has shown up so far except the frame and power meter (was a pre-buy--shipped yesterday). The frame is still stuck in paint I think--it's taken way longer than I expected to get everything through.

Weights:
-Shimano 160mm rotor - 117g w/ lockring
-Shimano 140mm rotor - 98g w/ lockring
-Elitewheels Front - 635g
-Elitewheels Rear - 731g
-Ultegra cassette - 244g

Re: Yishunbike R1058-D Well, today I received the first pictures of my frame, paint job was done by Yishun and don't ask how I got them convinced to do so ;)
Unfortunately I am not able to upload the pictures as attachment, so here are the links to my drive.

Design was inspired by: Pinarello Dogma F Framekit 2023 Disc Electro Violett

I will share the complete build somewhere end of January when frame has arrived and I will share my first thoughts and more pictures while building as well.

Stay tuned!

Re: Onirii One I took the plunge and ordered the fully integrated Onirii One frameset. I'm guessing it will not arrive until the new year but I'll do my best to share pictures/info/weights when I receive it! Hoping to build it up into something nice by the end of january 8)

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress? fake G8 insoles

i havent tried authentic g8 insoles but these are cheap as chips and work well for me. ive been using them for over a year

The real ones cost over $100 iirc

plenty of youtube videos teaching about the benefits and how to use them

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) I've just finished the bike and don't want to withhold the first pictures from you.  :D

If you like, I'll be happy to create a separate thread for the build, with decent pictures and what the riding impression is like.

As it's a pretty wet winter here at the moment and I'm working until dark, I won't be able to start the first test drive until next weekend at the earliest  :'(

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I bit the bullet and ordered this power bank/light for longer rides to charge my phone. I was given an additional discount reducing the price to $13 USD, though regular price is $19 USD. I figure I could place it on my phone mount which also uses a Garmin mount interface and I can charge it while riding.

I just received this Cyclami/Rock Bros power bank+bike light. It weighs just under 125g, has a slim profile and both the female and male interface garmin mounts are replaceable. The light itself is decently bright, but don't expect great illumination in pitch black conditions. At best the light will be good enough in city conditions for visiblity. Also it comes with both USB-C and lighting charging connectors built-in, though I feel the cord it a bit fragile, so I might go look for a short cable with both USB-C "male" connectors to charge my phone instead.

As intended, I plan to use it for it's power bank feature to charge my phone on longer road rides or when I'm on remote gravel bike rides. I only wish it had a bit more power than 5000mah. I can see a market for a bigger unit at the expense of more weight.

Overall I think it's a handy device for the price!

Re: Chinese cycling clothes Add Cheji to the list of elastic interface bibs. And they're actually not counterfeit like some of the other aliexpress ones.
