Re: Yishun R086-D Aero Road Been using the R086-D as my official wheel testing frame. Didn't expect to enjoy those Elite Velo Six wheels as much as I do.

Re: Onirii One Received the frame (size M) yesterday. It took 34 days to receive it from the day I paid. Initial impressions: no giant red flags yet but it's also not a perfect work of art. Plus I still need to build it so more quirks seem likely to come up. There is a tiny scrape on the down tube right where it meets the headtube. Also I thought the cables were 100% internal but there is a hole where you can run a cable outside/around the bottom bracket. I may need that since i'm planning on using a 30mm axle and im not positive that will leave room for the brake line inside the frame. The logo is just stickers, no coating over them. Headset spacers have male/female features that lock them into place on top of each other. The only problem with them is that the top one reeeaaallly needs to be forced to fit into the indents in the bar/stem in order to lock into place. I may just need to cut one of the bosses off the top spacer. I'll share more as I build it too. They have faced the bottom bracket and brake caliper mounts so that's always good to see. For some reason I though the stem angle was 7 degrees so I was a little surprised to see its listed as 12, that shouldn't be a problem though. If anyone wants pictures of specific parts let me know.

Weights:
775g - Frame (with bottle cage bolts and front derailleur mount)
354g - Fork (significantly heavier than listed in their Aliexpress store)
60g - Thru axles (both together)
140g - Headset (see picture to see what's included, there are other parts, these are just the ones I plan on using)
335g - Bar/stem (a little lighter than listed, with bolts for computer mount and fork clamping)
182g - Seatpost
8.5g - Seat collar with bolt

While waiting for the frame to arrive I sent Onirii a lot of annoyingly specific questions about various aspects of the frame and they were always quick to respond (within their business hours) with thorough answers.

Two new Winspace frames coming (soon?) Edit: Updated information as this is now on their website.

Hi there!

I am new around here, so let's get started  8)

This morning I noticed that Winspace updated their site with some pictures of two new frames that are coming (soon?).

The URL is not accessible anymore but I managed to snatch all the pictures :) Judging by the name of the image files, "Player #1" seems to be their Agile model that I remember seeing somewhere [1] else before (looking closer, it is written in the chainstay too ::)). No idea about "Player #2" though.

Update: The page is online here. Agile model can be ordered already. Looks like the C5 cannot be ordered yet.

I copy the original text overlay that they had on each image. Thoughts?

PLAYER #1 Agile: Fusion of Lightness and Quickness

Merging stiffness and elegance: Crafted with Toray T800+T1000 carbon and featuring a unique curved design, this creation is both robust and gracefully refined.

Horizontal Angled T-tail: Striking a perfect balance between aerodynamics and riding comfort. Tire clearance supports up to 32mm.

Sealed Axle design: The sealed thru axle design ensures a seamless appearance while maximizing aerodynamic performance.

Tangible excellence in performance: Precision-tuned aggressive geometry pushes the limits of performance with nimble control and on-demand acceleration, enhanced by the lightweight advantage of a T47 bottom bracket.

PLAYER #2 C5: Built for Steadiness and Toughness

Firm and Steady: The one-piece molding process delivers toughness, while the unique geometric design with the max tyre clearance of 32mm ensures a more stable riding experience.

Twisted T-tail Design: The slight twist in the tail design boosts comfort by smoothing out bumps, letting you ride further with ease.

Sealed Axle design: The sealed thru axle design ensures a seamless appearance while maximizing aerodynamic performance.

LONGER CHAINSTAY LENGTH: The extended chainstay length and precisely adjusted trail value improve the bike’s handling and steadiness.

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame I have just finished 600km and 7000m of climbing over 6 days on my frame riding to watch the Tour Down Under stages on some pretty poor road surfaces. So far the frame has performed above expectations.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Sub 150g for the 11-28t and sub 163g for the 11-32t 11 speed road cassettes. Alloy big cogs though, so probably best for race applications or if you don't do much climbing.

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress?
I have these. Two pairs which I've been using for >2yrs
they're really good for the price and solved my issues with shoes, I definitely needed arch support and the 'common' insoles I've tried didn't work. Found these on Ali, bought one and another after around 3 months to have as spare (they actually went out of stock for a year or so, came back some months ago)

my experience is that they work really well, but the plastic on the arches is not the best, it starts to soften after some time. So like I started with the no.3 arch but it turned to a 2 effectively, so I had to change to a 4 to keep the support as it should.
Also the glue between the plastic part below and the foam is not good, if you get any water in it'll detach. But easily solved just glued back together

other than that, is really nice, and for sure worth the price. A fraction of the real one, but of reasonable quality, and the customization is worth it.
I have owned a pair of G8 Performance 2620 insoles for over 3 years and 30,000km. Happy with them, but not the price for replacements as they do wear out. So when I  saw these copies I purchased a couple of pairs.

They look almost identical to the G8s, so much the arch supports looks and feels the same and are interchangeable. Which is good news as the arch supports do degrade over time (a comment BikeFit James made about the G8 on YouTube, I have experienced with my G8 and
but the plastic on the arches is not the best, it starts to soften after some time.
The difference is in the sole, 2620 are available in 4 sizes, the copy is one size, looks based on a large (I have a med 2620) and can be trimmed to any size between 41 and 46.
The sole looks to be made of similar but slightly different material
The heel and footbed attachment points sit flush with the original, the copy  they protrude a little from the sole.
Very happy with my  purchase and will make good use of them.

Re: Speeder SC-R48 SC-R48V

Size 520 (translates to a normal 54cm)

Gloss UD marble clear coat finish

Almost bought the frame in April last year but I think they had already sprayed up frames for a brand so were not able to provide the clear coat finish. Was very quick to accept the funds without confirming whether the finish was available, so maybe double check lead times etc before purchasing.

Went ahead with purchase in November as clear coat finish was available.

$775 frameset shipped to UK (frame hardware/x1 hanger but no headset)
Used Paypal 23/11/23, shipped 06/12/23, delivered 02/01/24

Very easy to build with cable guides already routed. Didn’t have a hambini approved way of measuring the bb but install was ok, didn’t drop in and didn’t require loads of force.

Headset seems area looked a bit dodgy. Not a lot of material where the headset meets the frame and looked very rough. Similar appearance to the gc performance review of the winspace agile but a lot less material. Front end built up fine though and no play and not requiring any bodges to get the headset to work.

Lots of clearance gp5000 28mm on 19mm internal rim width. Possibly get 32mm on same rims, probably 28 or 30mm if on 28mm external wide rims.

Frame was 850g inc. frame hardware/bolts. Fork 400g uncut, 360-370g cut to size
Built up to 7.2kg. most bits were pretty light. But wheels 1540g, 105 cassette, 200g saddle and powermeter/crank/chainrings 845g all added on the weight.

First ride was still getting the position sorted out and went from 38cm to 34cm bars so getting used to the handling as well. Have come from a Kinesis Aithein with 31.6 alloy post/25mm tyres on UK roads for the past seven years which is a very harsh/stiff setup but had no problems with over the years (raced briefly as cat 2 in UK). The speeder frame did feel nice and stiff, and going to 27.2 carbon post and 28mm tyres is certainly more comfortable. So no complaints regarding stiffness or too harsh a ride, 70kg and 65psi cyclemi tpu tubes was good for UK country roads. Probably could go 10 psi up or down from there.

Ended up sliding out at a roundabout nearing the end of my first ride which was around 60 miles. I think I dropped the bike against a lamp post after crashing and ended up cracking the top tube. Will be getting a quote from a carbon repair place to see if it is worth the repair. I will also get them to have a look at the headset area at the same time.

Panniers, Bike Bags, Stuff sacks, and Saddle bags I want to get a dedicated thread going to review and discuss available carrying of your gear for Bikepacking, Adventure cycling and Bicycle touring.   I want to keep this thread to items that are used to carrry your gear on your long multiday rides.   - Panniers, Bike bags, Stuff sacks and saddle bags.    Aliexpress lists and sells a lot of different items in this category.   I am always looking for the lightest, most durable, perhaps water proof, and best bang for the buck.

For this years planned trips, I am trying to remove more weight and am looking for the lightest durable gear packs I can find on Aliexpress.   (Perhaps other brands outside Aliexpress, if they are affordable.)

I am hoping other forum members will have some good recommendations for bags you have purchased and used.

I purchased a set of Rhinowalk panniers over a year ago.  They have held up OK, on 3, week+ trips, but they are already showing signs of wear, and are having issues.

I purchased and use one of these NEWBOLER saddlebags for overnight trips.

I have purchased numerous sacks off of Ali express.

Re: Panniers, Bike Bags, Stuff sacks, and Saddle bags Decluttering the interesting finds thread and organizing by item type is a great idea.
I'm interested in the Montcamper drybags, which ones do you have? Could you weigh them for comparison against StS? Thank you
