Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Yeah, I don't get the 2x10 either.. That's ancient for most people...

It looks great though... Now make it 2x11 and hydraulic  :D

This 2x10 is really good with the cassette 11-38. If you look at the gear spacing they've done a good job. On the other hand 1x10 makes no sense to me because I hate the  3 teeth jump from 15 to 18. But most of the 1x11 aftermarket 11-46 cassettes also have this stupid spacing. I think 2 x 10 sword is a great groupset for bike backing and recreational riders. And with the 48/11 and 11-38 even I as a racer would choose this over grx 2x11. Becuse the top end speeds are the same but with microshift you get better climbing gears.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Microshift is excellent, I'm running Advent X on my trail MTB.

I'm pretty new to the AliX game but I have a bunch of stuff coming that I can review. Toseek QR fork, ALITAONE seatpost, Deemount valve cores, Deckas chainring, Risk Ti bolts, and more

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Perhaps start a thread about how to collect coins on Aliexpress?  Techniques, tricks, other ways?

Re: Epic Evo Clone
I still didn’t like the original color of the frames and decided to remove the paint from it.
Dope build, my build has a lot of similar parts albeit 500g lighter :p (and sexier)

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress? I like these little hand pumps that have the hose that screws onto the valve. have them on all my bikes. Seen them with different branding but I have these ones:

So they don't do Black Friday sales? Just 11-11 and Chinese new year?

I would think the whole month of November should have good sales. This is usually the time of the month to make major AliEx purchases like frames, wheelsets, etc.

Here's an AliEx sales calendar:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I've always found the 11-11 sales vary a lot regarding bike parts.  Sometimes various stores extend their sales into December, or after 11-11 they keep the lower prices, but then charge for shipping.  Other times, they raise the prices back up and then drop the prices a few weeks later.  I suppose it depends on how much they were able to sell during the first half of November.   (I have a list of items I want to purchase and keep track of the prices and then compare to the sales whenever they happen.)

I don't think that China has the same end-of-year sales "pressure" to sell off items like US companies and other international businesses that try to increase their year end profits and get rid of excess inventory.

I believe that their sales somewhat track the consumption habits of more capitalistic countries so they can overall make more sales and bring back as much money as they can to their country.

Re: Groupset News Here is some news about eGR:

Currently, eGR has started small-scale tests in the pre-production and final stages, and it is expected to be available for sale in early next year (after the 2024 Chinese New Year).

I have some pictures of eGR from friends who have received the kit.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/Cc4wmfB5XBxMcgTw7

The main focus is on comparing the weight with the GRT Mechanical Carbon Fiber Hydraulic Kit:
The eGR rear derailleur is 65g heavier than the GRT rear derailleur. The new version of the clamp has a more refined appearance and is 45g lighter per pair. The eGR shifter no longer has a gear mechanism, making it 52g lighter per pair. However, due to the additional weight of batteries and cables compared to the mechanical kit, it adds approximately 78g. Therefore, the eGR weighs about 50g more than the GRT carbon fiber overall, excluding the battery mount plug.

The eGR brake lever and rear derailleur housing are made of carbon fiber, while the rear derailleur guide plate is made of aluminum alloy.

Compared to eR9/eRX, the shape of the eGR brake lever is less outwardly extended, the button shape is larger, and the button travel has increased, resulting in a better feel. Apart from these changes, there are no significant differences.

Although the eGR left-hand side has buttons, it has been confirmed that it cannot control the same rear derailleur with two hands like SRAM. The buttons on the left side may be designed for electronic seat post adjustment (I'm not sure if this is accurate).

The eGR features a newly designed integrated clamp that is lighter in weight. However, due to Shimano's patents, there have been no improvements in the bleeding method.

Do these carbon ones, recommended above, scratch the bottles?

I haven't noticed scratches due to removing and replacing the bottle in the cage.   But, my water bottles take a beating on my gravel and mtn bikes.
When the contents of the bottle are cold, and I ride the trails, dust sticks to the bottles.  The dust works like sandpaper and leaves black marks on the bottles. I don't care, because water bottles are consumable items.
