Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I'm on the opposite spectrum of ER9/X users on here, because my ER9 has been working great. Shifts are spot on and no issues with battery drain. My groupset has been used almost exclusively for climbing on rough mountain roads, so it's not like it's being babied either with the full range of shifting being used. It's been so good I want to buy another ER9. I'm not the most OCD bike mechanic, but I try to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Maybe I'm using some sort of goldilocks combination where everything is working just right or maybe my groupset was built on a Wednesday so QC was a bit better that day! ;D

Re: New frame: Longteng RD301-D I placed an order on a 52 cm frame.  Per Alisa, the lead time is around 45 days but they have a few 52 left in stock so it might be able to get shipped out within 30 days (after some custom paint work).

What I paid:

- US$530 for frame, fork & seat post, in black gloss plus one additional color

- US$12 for headset

- US$25 for front and rear axles

- US$6 for spare rear hanger

They offered an integrated cockpit for US$80 but they don't have 380/100, so I will source that elsewhere.

Now I have to source wheels and all the other stuff!  I'm not that handy so I'm going to work with a LBS here in Taipei to get this built up.  I'll try to do a build video and also share some pics.

This forum has years of information and use cases on Velobuild. Folks have made videos as well. More than enough to make an informed decision. If your research has still led you to the conclusion that VeloBuild has some big QC issues then it's probably best just to look elsewhere. Or reframe your expectation of what a $500 is as others above have mentioned.

Based on the feedback from customers in this forum, VeloBuild is very fair in their customer service. If you are decent with your hands and willing to put in a little sweat equity, the 177, 268, and CX002 are solid options for the price.

And welcome to the forum. There are more helpful people in here than not, and offering more context in your posts will go a long way.

wheelset are well packed, come with several spare spokes and rim tapes.

I have been riding my X38 for almost a year now. It has a quite hard life as I also commute on it in every kind of weather.
Currently I am thinking about a rebuild (there are some creaks and I forgot the foam housing for the brake hose). Does anyone know the headset bearing specs? Would a standard ACR bearing fit? This would also allow me to get a new narrow cockpit.
