Re: dcrf26 frame - Scott Foil?
I thought the housing had to push against the frame, then comes the cable.
But it sounds you're running the housing all the way to the FD.

Yes, I am running the housing all the way to the R7000 FD. The cable housing is pushing against the FD stopper (as illustrated in the image documentation in my above post and my attached image here).
This is exactly the same principle as the Rear Derailleur, but the Rear Derailleur has a tension adjuster but works with similar principle; the housing is pushed against the RD cable housing stopper.

You just need to make sure to remove all the slack from the Front Derailleur cable before you tight it down.
Don't think too much about it. Just try it. It works guys!

This only works with Front Derailleur with a built in cable stopper like the Shimano 105 R7000 front derailleur.

Excuse my dirty bike in the images.

Re: 32C tyre clearance on this bike? At closest point it still looks like a gap of 3 mm on each side. It's actually slightly more than what I have on my 2010 Cervelo with 26c tyres.
A lot will depend on rims and tires used though. Not all tires will leave same gap, we also don't know what psi these were inflated for photo purposes. I have a doubt that Panaracer GK SS in 32c will be troublesome fit in there.
This exact same criteria is important for me too and I'm now leaning towards Airwolf YFR066 mold to not risk it. It's more endurance/all road geo though so probably not a direct replacement for this frame here.

Re: 32C tyre clearance on this bike? From the picture it seems the chainstays get quite a bit tighter towards the spokes. It's probably just perspective. But to make really really sure, check that width, too. Having to ease up on the tire pressure in order to mount the rear wheel would be one thing (not the end of the world, but borderline annoying), but a wide rim not passing through would be a real bummer. Again, probably no issue at all ... just for peace of mind.

Re: Consensus on replica frames ?? Ok so, I rode on bike about 1k kilometers (1150km). I dissasembly it 2 times. I didnt noticed cracking carbon of any parts inside or breaking (frame, handlebar, seatpost). BUT It has some paint scratches looks like carbon crack (seat post, seat tube). I check it many times and till now nothing change (good for me) - scratch are on outside side on paint.
The bike is very stiff, i dont feel that frame is flexible. Every parts from my previous bicycle fit well (crank, derailleurs, wheels). The frame is very difficult to mount due to internal cables and hydraulic brakes so have to be patient, have good tools and some skills, but i think its normal - in every type of internal routig frame (not only chinese version)

I bought frame from ali, size 56cm with handlebar 100x400 and glossy white paint, from seller that has shop from 2014 (7 years) and selling frames, handlebars and carbon parts. I bought it for about 750EUR with shipping.
I dont know how it works but when I add frame to basket it shows me 750EUR, but when I would like to pay for it the price changed to 600EUR. Maybe its VAT or some tax returned by law in EU. Next I added xdb shipping costs for EU for 150EUR, so overall 750EUR for frame back to my door.
Shipping lasted 3 weeks.

The package was very well protecded by foil, tape and sponge? in medium box.

Paint job is quite good. I rate it on 3 or 4 on 6 posiible (1-reprehensible, 6 perfect). The main varnish is very good and durable. But has some mistakes visible under the light, some black parts ale slightly smeared on white (thru axle mount), seat tube socket has too much paint (and its not harvested enough) and socket for screw seat tube is smeared on white too. Letters and logos are sharp and centered but I think they are not secured enough by scratching - should be additional transparent protective varnish. Seat tube socket doesnt have cover, so I had to doit by myself.

Frame has mounted perfect bottom bracket, the fork and back part of bike (rear triangle?) Its fits perfect with wheels and crankset. They are on position and central.

Steerer tube and seatpost tube has thick walls, maybe not perfect but strong enough. Seat tube looks like very durable and i think there is one layer with fiber glass (between are some spaces). Seat post has some paint crack looking strange, but when i checked it, it looks like its only paint crack.

With fork I get 2 aluminium overlapping spacers, 1 plastic spacers, 1 down pad with "ceramicspeed" logo (i dont know how its called) and 1 up pad, 3 aluminium upper rudder pads for compression, 2 headset bearings (up and down).
With seatpost I get additional clip for carbon rail of saddle

Handlebar is very good looking, like one piece made with stem, good finishing, with internal mount wire. There is garmin mount too with 2 bolts. Internal cables looks beautifull but mounting it is horrible...
There is a little disadvantage with stem. Mounting area is a little wider than should be, so when I put the handlebar on steerer tube, I had to remove some clearence with the stem bolts (i.e. should be 31.8mm and it is 31.9mm) and then remove clearence on head tube.

I sending some pictures below.
I have no time to respond for every email, im so sorry for that.
But sending pictures is simple so if U want more pictures, send me Ur email, maybe I try send u more :)

Bike feels really good, it's easier to stay tucked in than my rim brake Madone, the flat aero bars also help since you can put some weight with your wrists. It accelerates way better than my TT bike but almost holds a 50kmh pull as well, the perfect bike for flat roads.
I'll test it in uphills this weekend

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 Hello everyone,
I too wanted to thank everyone for the many tips...
Here are the pictures of the bike, mounted with SRAM red.

Assembly went well... the main difficulties were related to my ignorance... for example, finding the front derailleur sheath stop...
I opted for integrated wiring, with CHB1036 handlebars. Patience is needed... once the sheaths were in place, some cables jammed because of the angles of the handlebars... back to work!
Next, I wanted mechanical disc brakes for weight reasons. I'm pretty happy with the result.
I must have done 600 / 700kms with the bike.
I'm very happy with the way it rides: comfortable and light!
Bike adopted!

Re: High end big brand OEM road rims 38/45/50mm on sale!!! I put an order in for a wheel set from Peter, thought I write a few words about the process
I had quick mail conversation with Peter providing good advise on suitable rims for me

End up ordering:
DC2855 road disc rims 21/21H UD glossy
Custom high end 6 pawl 21/21H 2:1 center lock straight pull hubs for carbon spokes steel bearings 330g with Shimano driver
Carbon spokes with nipples
Weight including rimtape is 1400gr for the pair on my kitchen scales.

Paid 762. USD including shipping and taxes,
Ordered on may 8, received my wheels received them on jun-13,,
not superfast but the norm for stuff from China to my location.

Doing miles on the wheels now, my initial impressions is that they are not a massive improvement on my old elite ENT wheelset.

Still pleased with my purchase thou.

Re: 36cm bars? I've had my eye on the Kocevlo handlebar, only reason I haven't gotten it is because the stem is only available up to 110mm and I need 130mm. My friend has bought a set and I gotta say they're quite nice given the low price https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804787569282.html

Airwolf sells them up to 120mm stem: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805079402621.html

Premium-tier options include Farsports F1: https://www.pandapodium.cc/product/farsports-f1-classic-handlebar/

Re: Light Bicycle AR/WR wheelset alternatives? (30-32mm wide wheels) Nextie ARX are another option worth looking into. They are front and rear specific profiles which is kind of interesting. There is a 49 / 54 and a newer and wider 60 / 65

I personally really like the WR50 from LB (i have had the flyweight version for as I weigh like 55-56kg) and have kept a pair over the course of a few years as many other wheels have come and gone. Not sure that build though fits OPs budget.

One thing to think about is that wheels sort of became a commodity for a while as everyone settled more or less settled on NACA profiles. I don't think that has been the case for several years and the brands pouring in the R&D are making better products. For example my Ascent Polaris 69mm deep wheels are significantly more predictable in crosswinds and faster than than my LB WR50. On the other side, I think my Roval CLX50 were faster wheels than my LB WR50s are; though they were hell for me to ride in crosswinds which is why the WR50 stayed and those went.

Re: dcrf26 frame - Scott Foil? Captains Log #8

This will be my final update for a while. Took the bike on a proper ride this morning and I really enjoy it. It certainly "feels" fast and doesn't struggle to maintain speed even with the 10-15mph block headwind on the return home. At 75 PSI out on proper roads the bike maintains its composure. No rattles no creaks and no teeth chattering moments. The stiffness is totally manageable even with my pad-less fully carbon saddle.

I am definitely going 1x drivetrain when the aero chainring arrive. Once I pair that to my set of TPU tubes this should drop the bike down to around 7.3kg. Pretty killer for an all-out aero frame, and even it's current form the bike feels like a go-cart. No flex out of the saddle.

It's still too early tell, but I get the impression this will be the best performing frame I've tested under $900. And this will mostly replace my Allez Sprint as long as no random quirks or catastrophic failures pop up over the summer.

Going back to @St0mpB0x point above about bottom brackets. So this frame has an asymmetrical bottom bracket design similar to the new Cervelo Soloist. The Soloist requires a T47 inboard cup on the non-drive side and an outboard cup on the drive side. The x38 is also asymmetrical but in the opposite inboard/outboard configuration of the Soloist. I was able to use an inboard DUB T47 on both sides, but it requires a specific configuration of crank/spindle spacers on both side. This isn't exactly ideal, as you may get very slight chain rub on the FD when in the two largest cassette cogs out back with out very carefully setting up the FD. Another reason 1x makes more sense for a bike like this anyway.
