Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain What is the point of buying wheeltop edx while a GX AXS is cheaper and proven?
Or is the quality of wheeltop more on the same level as XX1 groupset?

Re: Workswell WCB-G 358 I have almost finished my build. just need to set up my handlebar and shifters to my exact position. (also need to set up tubeless, but needed to wait for other valves...)

I painted the frame myself and am quite happy with the outcome.
Ultegra 8170 di2, (Gearing: 44-11/34)

Re: Aliexpress wheels - What's wrong The rims' tire bed profile looks like a tubeless compatible design. The bead seat has those shelves/shoulders required for tubeless. I would say maybe roll the dice and throw in some tubeless tape and set them up tubeless anyways.

Re: Mongolian UCI team running all-chinese bikes
I was browsing procyclingstats and stumbled upon a mongolian team. Opened the gear page to see what kind of bikes and had a nice surprise:

Just wanted to share because I found that very interesting. Mongolia fascinates me and as a geoguessr veteran I would love to see the roads they train on... Any insight?  :)

I've been to Mongolia several times. The roads and traffic in the capital are terrible. The winters are extremely harsh, so that only leaves late spring and summer to train outdoors. Outside the city, they do have some beautiful country roads with miles of grassland and small towns in-between. Along the way you can see old Soviet relics from their communist era. I'd probably prefer using a gravel bike or a MTB frame though to get around.

The only option that would make sense for a Mongolian team to train year round would probably be going to Thailand during the winter. They have visa free travel between the two countries, Thailand winters is their dry season and general expenses would be much lower.

That Onirii frameset or complete bike build can be found on their AliExpress official store, but I'm wondering if they have a different spec'ed setup using Sensah Empire? The AliEx version in my opinion is better spec'ed with Shimano 105 hydraulic. I've actually been eyeballing that frame just because it's almost as lightweight as the standard Aethos, but at a fraction of the price. Though I already have too many road bikes in my stable as-is.

ZTTO 9-42 11-speed XD cassette failure warning So today my ZTTO cassette decided to self destruct...
All of a sudden, while crossing a busy road, my crank was spinning but the rear wheel was not. Seems the smallest 3 cogs had separated themselves from the rest of the cassette. All the pins had failed. Luckily the rest of the cassette was more or less in one piece and I could finish my ride without using the 3 smallest cogs.
Shifting was horrible though and the chain skipped on some cogs. I had no idea why until I took the cassette off the rear wheel when I got home. Not only the smallest 3 cogs came loose, but also in a few other places the cassette had come apart.
I bought 3 of these cassettes and not one worked very good or long. But this one was the worst. I don't know the mileage exactly, but I guess this cassette maybe had 3000 km.
I now replaced it with a SRAM GX 10-42 cassette. Needless to say I expect a much longer life from this cassette.

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame
Looking to buy one of these frames and use 40mm tires with a di2 setup like yours, what is the tire clearance like with an di2 front mech? Is it limited at all by the front mech? Thanks in advance

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been waiting for the longer di2 cable to turn up, which finally arrived today.

Clearance with a 105 FD-R7150 di2 front derailleur is still around 9-10mm between 35mm tyre and derailleur body. I tried measuring with calipers but doesn't really work. See photos attached.
Worth mentioning the 105 R7150 FD is different to the 12 speed Ultegra R8150 and Dura Ace R9250 FDs so if using them the clearance might be different. The R7150 FD is very similar to the older Ultegra R8050 di2 11 speed FD.

As an aside, if anyone else does a 12 speed di2 build, 1200mm for rear derailleur and 700mm for front derailleur work for a 54cm frame.

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain
"On another forum that has a Wheeltop EDS thread going, they posted an image of a different version of the EDS OX with what appears to be a "fixed battery" with a built in connector to charge the battery.

I am pretty sure Joe from China Cycling on YouTube mentioned it, officially for better water proofing, but suspects SRAM, their patents and lawyers with cease and desist letter.

That said Campagnolo's new groupset has removable batteries (just different front and rear) so Wheeltop could switch back next generation, if water proofing issues resolved ;-) and say to SRAM "Campagnolo have removable batteries, so why can't we". As SRAM will not take legal action against Campagnolo, and that lack of action can be used as a legal defense.

visited this thread looking for info on Wheeltop Road EDS drivetrain that was on display at EuroBike (have go through my youtube history and rewatch videos to find out who).

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Anyone know of a quality Ali alternative to the Altangle travel bike stand clampy thing?  I have an Altangle for home, but would prefer something cheaper for actual travel.
