Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) I once had an Xcadey PM die on me shortly after arrival. I spoke to the seller on aliexpress, made prove with videos and pictures. He sent me a new one without costs.
Another time I've had a set of replica wheels being held at customs, one of the biggest sellers on aliexpress send me another pair.
Not all those sellers are bad but indeed build relations with people and be gentle with them.

Re: TanTan TT-X21 frame Hi everyone,

I'm refreshing this topic to show you my future bike!

This is my first experience with TanTan and I'm very satisfied with the service so far. I had very specific requirements for this turnkey bike, and Rose from TanTan was very helpful.  Here are the photos I received today.

Description :
TT-X21 custom paint Size 56
50mm carbon rims with Continental GP500
Shimano 105 Di2

They should ship it this week, I can't wait to receive it.

I will update as soon.

Re: Supersix / Soloist / Addict lookalikes in 32C in 2024?
PS: really feels like we've reached peak bike, one really needs a trained eye to tell bikes apart...
I think we have just reached peak UCI restrictions but I have probably summoned a new level of pedantry from them..

Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
1. You plan to route 4 housings through the bars & stem using this https://jagwire.com/products/diy-cable-kits/2017road-elite-link-brake-kit? Having routed 4 VB bikes with keb-sl housing (full internal), i really dont think it's possible, so very curious to see how you manage that.

2. If i had extra spacers like that under my stem, i'd probably run an extra long plug expander to spread the forces over the widest possible area. Leverage is a thing, so if you hit a bad pothole, you're at a materially higher chance of cracking the steerer if you run tall chimneys like that. That's also going to add another sharp bend to the routing.

3. so the frame is 1060g and they advertise 950g. Did you ask if the 950 is a raw carbon weight? Primer & paint done by VB is going to add weight, idk if it adds 100g, sounds like a lot, but I'd say >50g. At which point a 50g variance is 5% of the advertised weight, i guess it's within spec? When you order rims, if it weights 460g, the seller typically says +/- 15g, and a rim is a lot less intricate than a frame.

My built is finally finished. At the end I opted for only twoo of largest spcers, one from my extra spacer kit (I know, its the same hight, but less hassle).
When I tried to assemble the handlebar with the 4 cables I quickly gave up the idea of using my used link cables. The thight space in the handlebar lead to gaps between the links, so I ripped it out and used the jagwire road kits instead.
I don't like how velobuild routed the cables underneath the stem. They dont run internally, inside the stem, but underneath of it in a canal. So there is a even tighter bend between the fork and the handlebar. I even had dificulties running the inner cables through the housing when reaching the bend. They got stuck, and I had to loosen the handlebar again.
It would have been better if the cables run inside the stem. They would have more space for the a bend with a biger radius.
It was a big hassle, but at the end everything is working well.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groupsets
Keep in mind that the so called official LTWOO store is not actually owned or run by LTWOO. At least according to Joe from China Cycling/Panda Podium. That’s why I just chose the best offer regardless of who the seller is and went with the 80s Designer Store.

In addition to informing about who is the real owner of the LTWOO account in AliExpress, I understand that it is a way to attract customers. After all he is offering the same product at a higher price, but it is understood that with better warranty and better service.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
let me know how it goes with the customs. I was thinking about buying that set but am afraid of customs here in BE
the mailman rang a few minutes ago. Had to weigh everthing before i rememered to tell about the tax and so.
Price as declared was 83€ and i payed 19% VAT (15,77€) and a 6€ handling fee from DHL. So in total 21,72€ on top of the original price.

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
Nice build, thanks for posting!
Other than the paint, anything to report on? Holes that aren't round, tolerances that are off, brake mount surfaces that aren't flat, inside of the frame that looks crap, any of that at all?
Very helpful video btw. How boxy is that downtube in real life? depending on the video, it can look like the least aero shape one could come up with, but other times, it's not even noticeable.

The front and rear caliper mounts could've been faced to help with alignment.  The rear cutout for the derailleur hanger was a bit wonky and needed a little persuading to help it align to prevent it from binding up the axle when the set screw was tightened.  I choose black to specifically camouflage the overly boxy down tube.  Other than that the bikes been a dream to ride the first 400 miles thus far.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
That's interesting. can you please link to your OSPW? On the er9, if you run 11-34 (native) or 11-36 (with a small cage extender), in small small, there's a lot of chain slack. Mind you, the app has "gear protection" that prevents that, plus you shouldn't cross chain, but if the OSPW acts as some de facto clutch, it becomes a lot less useless as an upgrade, at which point i'm curious to try. And I agree w you, i'm not paying 500$ for that farce.
It then becomes a question of whether there's an OSPW option for the er9/x.

I found with the ER9 50-34/11-34t is the biggest cassette I could run with minimal chain slack. Chain length remained the same from my previous 11-32t when I was running mechanical and I can still safely clear big/big if I go there by accident. Though I'm wondering if there's some sort of Shimano patent for removable derailleur cages? I wonder why LTwoo and Sensah insist on non-removable cages?

Here's the link to that OSPW:

If you look closely at the photos you can see the 4 tension hole adjustments.

One more thought: I find gear protection an acceptable trade-off on the ER9/X because I feel small/small is where you'll most likely drop a chain. I also plan on keeping my chain catcher as an added bit of insurance.

Re: What are the recurring big sales on Ali? I didn't remember the Anniversary sale being this good in previous years. I think the next big one will be the June summer sale. There's a chance AliEx might amp up the coupons during some of the smaller sale dates.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-218 Frame Update 2024

Figured I'd keep telling the story of my 218s

After painting my replacement frame I decided I wanted to paint my repaired frame this season. I sanded down the paint where I repaired prevously to check up on the repair and redo some of the body work so it would have a nicer finish once painted.

Purple is my favorite color. I found this one on the Aston Martin catalog called Digital Violet.Enjoy the pics
