Re: Compatibility of this frame swap
This is bad idea.

Though I must say, using post mount brakes with adapters on flat mount frame has no effect on braking performance. I am doing exact same thing (Deore MT510 with adapters on Salsa Journeyer) and it works without any handicap.

For the record, I'm not referring to performance purely based on the post mount > flat mount fitment, but more that this will be a fully internally routed frame with cable calipers and performance will be nowhere near what it was on the old frame. Also, it'll look ugly.  :P

Yoeleo R12 & SAT C50 PRO Wheels - Revamped and Refreshed So Yoeleo graciously sent me out their latest R12 frameset and 50mm Pro wheels to test and review. YouTube link is down below.

Frame - R12 (Refreshed/Revamped) - $1590
Size 56, Hemidium paint
Weight 1305g for the frame

Wheels - SAT C50|50 DB PRO - $899 usd
50mm depth, 27mm external, 21mm internal
YOELEO 230 SP Ratchet System Hub 52T (basically DT Swiss)

Initial Thoughts:
The packaging, presentation, and included hardware for the frameset is fantastic. Equally as good as when I purchased my Allez Sprint. UCI-approved (if that's important), flawless paint job, and no imperfections around the exposed carbon areas. No question the frame is on par with Winspace visually.

The Elephant in the Room - Customer Service
I've had meetings with Yoeleo and their marketing team where I told them I would not review or endorse their products moving forward until they resolve customer service issues for Western customers. Like SEKA, it seems for a while that Yeoleo were giving preferential treatment to their domestic audience. I've had personal friends of mine get burned by Yoeleo, after they made purchases solely from my video reviews. Back in 2021-early 2022 Yoeleo were quoting people 1 month for fulfillments, which ended in customers doing CC chargebacks after 8-9 months of no frame. The good news is I've spoken to recent customers who tell me Yoeleo is back to their days of good service as they were back in 2020 when I first built my R9. Fast to respond to customers and they actually have a full stock of the R12s.

$1590 isn't cheap, but you're getting Winspace-tier perceived quality. And their latest G21 gravel bike is freakin awesome. I'll report back my bike build progresses. I have to finish building this before my Tan Tan x38 frame arrives

Re: Yoeleo R12 & SAT C50 PRO Wheels - Revamped and Refreshed Just to add one more data point to this conversation; I got my R12 at the end of last year and it's been a flurry of issues with it since then:
  • They didn't include a cable stop for mechanical front derailleurs, which they later shipped and delayed my build
  • The handlebar/stem was failing to secure properly to the steerer tube which caused it to loosen up while riding (Scary sh*t!). I've built quite a few bikes and I was pretty confident that this wasn't human error, I later took it to a shop and they confirmed it. It was a long back and forth with Yoeleo's customer support that took months! They kept sending small parts for me to try out like the compression plug, steerer tube adapter, and stem bolts which didn't fully fixed the issue, the handlebar still loosened up but not as frequently.
  • Since they were dragging their feet and refusing to replace the handlebar I had to take the loss and bought a handlebar from a different brand. I still had to buy an ST1 stem from them (which they offered at a slight discount   ::)) because the integrated cabling system doesn't play nicely with anything else
  • The bike works fine now which proves my point that there was an issue with that particular handlebar/stem. They still refuse to accept that.
  • I also discovered that the clamp that holds the saddle together was wearing out internally; The notches that help keep the saddle from rotating had all but disappeared. I asked them to send a replacement along with the other small parts they they were sending and they told me they would but they never did. When I confronted them about it, they blatantly lied and told me that they did ship it. At this point, I just gave up...

What a massive waste of time and money! I'm so profoundly disappointed because I had previously bought a couple of wheelsets from them and they are really good.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
For not much more depending on your local tax, the BXT carbon gravel frame is going for sub $400 USD right now.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804540425938.html?
I'd warn to stay away from BXT. They've made a really bad name for themselves, at least here in Brazil, over the last 1-2yrs
A lot of broken frames cases, both road or mtb, and then really bad aftersales. When they're contacted for warranty (Aliexpress store) they just ghost the buyer, or they threaten to only fulfill if the buyer deletes all bad comments about it made on Aliexpress and social media

and another power meter special, this time crank dual sided Magene P325 CS on Zrace arms https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004037853598.html
interesting collab! I have the P325CS complete set - the one from Kickstarter years ago - and although many people had issues, mine always worked really well, and the power is on par with my smart trainer (a Dare2Ride, seems the same as JetBlack Volt or Zwift Hub)

but at that pricepoint, I believe the P505 or the Sigeyi sets (posted a while back), are better options

Re: Shimano groups on AliEx I've ordered so much stuff on AliX. As soon as you receive it, have a very close look. Install it right away on a bike (I think you have 14 days) and make sure it works. If you can prove it's fake, or prove it's broken or what not, you'll get your money back.
AliX is now doing what Ebay has always done: offering buyer protection.
Are fake FD / RD / shifters a thing?

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
After watching the Cam Nicholls video, am I the only one who doesn't think this bike looks fast? It looks like it was designed to have the appearance of being aero from the side profile, but clearly fails in several areas. The frontal profile on the head tube and fork is super chunky compared to the Falath Pro. Everyone knows frontal area=drag. There's also a lot of weird tube profiles, the seat tube and gusset have a really square frontal profile, and the top-down cross-section of the head-tube right behind the steerer doesn't really taper, instead terminating in a chunky square flat back like on a Trek Madone. This area of the head-tube is probably the most important part to make as narrow as possible since it gets the cleanest air. But then the downtube narrows and never widens again to shield the water bottle. It's backwards of what you want, which is narrow up top and a wider, flatter back down low to shield the bottle. I just don't get it. I'm not an aerodynamics expert but this bike seems to just violate a bunch of aero principles I know of. I wouldn't be surprised if the outgoing model is faster with bottles on.

That and it's heavy. I initially saw online rumors that the frame would be ~900gr. Now 400 grams over that? Even heavier than the outgoing model? I can't see this being popular.

I 100% agree with you. It's the very flattened backside of tubes that seem slow. Really awkward gap at the rear-wheel as well.

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023 Yeah, seems like "fibreglass gate" is in fact a non-issue and common practice especially on higher-quality frames even of top tier brands to ensure a perfectly round non-corroding fit for the expander plug. It's actually a good thing! Verdict: Don't listen to self-proclaimed "experts" on YouTube...

Thanks again for the first-hand tall-rider-experience!  8)

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
Well this is a bummer. Hit a pothole, shifter moved. Reset and gave it a tighten. Next time I was out, still wiggly. No matter how much I tightened, still wiggly. Then, I used my eyes and took a good hard look at the shifter, and saw my problem.

RIPieces LTWOO R9 Hydraulic shifter March 2023 - June 2023. You gave me 3 months of fairly okay shifting.

I've fully written off LTwoo. Simple things like tightening the shifter bolt clamp is a pain in the butt. Routing the mechanical shift cables is convoluted. Lastly, I just did not like how the thumb shifter gets in the way when I want to fully grip the hoods.

Maybe look into getting a pair of 105 hydraulic shifters. I think you still might be able to salvage the LTwoo brake calipers and use them with 105. Between the Chinese groupsets, I much prefer Sensah. They're slow to develop, but they seem like they have better support and their designs are more well thought out.

Re: 36cm bars?
I've had my eye on the Kocevlo handlebar, only reason I haven't gotten it is because the stem is only available up to 110mm and I need 130mm. My friend has bought a set and I gotta say they're quite nice given the low price https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804787569282.html

Airwolf sells them up to 120mm stem: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805079402621.html

Premium-tier options include Farsports F1: https://www.pandapodium.cc/product/farsports-f1-classic-handlebar/

Super nice thank you!
