Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
...Its my do-it-all bike but also mostly to race XC on technical natural trails during the summer...
You'll be happy! I did and Enduro race and the Swiss Epic the same summer last year with it.
With a 120 Ultimate and 42.5mm here's the build: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,2079.msg26737.html#msg26737

Re: XC frame comparable to Specialized Epic Evo (110mm travel)?
They were called out by community members, and then either FBA or Carbonda directly commented when asked, confirming that NS had nothing to do with the design process.  Not my story, others posted about it here and elsewhere.

Catalogue brands rarely employ anybody capable of doing any design or engineering work.  NS may have requested a 120mm option when FBA didn't have one planned (we don't know).  But that's a long way from design.  FBA and similar operations are a one-stop-shop.  Their focus is not on OEM work (not even sure they do it?), they're primarily an ODM.

It's not like NS are the only ones pretending they design, though.  Lots claim it.  Very few do it.  Vitus (CRC / Wiggle brand) are a classic one.

Sorry RDY, Can you show me what you mean when you say they were called out?

Over two years ago when I built my FM936, I got Enigma rims from an NS retailer. They were surprised to learn about the FM936 and they talked to NS about it. NS said that was the factory they use and I assumed they gave up exclusivity for a discount on the frame mold. I think NS was involved with the bike design. Vitus and other rebrands of the frame came later.

Really?!?

I have the feeling too, fly bike asia have competent designers.
However in the case of the CFR-505, Thesis who took an exclusivity for a while, suggested improvements. That are now part of the frame they sell.

I agree. Flybike clearly has expertise with frame mold design. I'm sure building carbon frame molds for mass manufacturing has its own difficulties. I feel like they invested a lot in bike frame molding and now have competent bike designers to help them grow.

I asked Adam and he says that NS and Flybike worked together to bring us Frame Mold #936

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts I can confirm that two bottles fit quite well in a large FM936 frame!  Also got a couple other 3D printed bits, the Manitou Mara remote lockout exits on the top (or bottom in the case of this mounting) but there's no room in the frame, so I printed a little sleeve for the aircan with a mount for the cable housing, so it now exits out the non-drive-side.  I just swapped from an LCFS911 to this and carried most of the parts over, but still going to build a new wheelset and get new handlebar/stem.  Once it's all done I'm thinking it'll come in right under 25 lbs.  The trails will be wet until mid March or so, so it'll be a while until a ride report.  So far the geo feels a lot like my Guerrilla Gravity, except it's fast in a straight line like my 911 was.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Hey guys I made it thru all 153 pages.  So thankful for all the information here.  I just heard from Adam that my 120mm medium with FSA BB is done and about to ship.  It took a little over a month because I caught the end of Chinese new year.  I have all my parts ready.   Full XT build with SID ultimate 120 and SIDluxe rear.  If all goes well I should be under 23 pounds.  If anyone is interested in my spec sheet I can attach.

Workswell WCB-G 358 Hi,
I'm Luca from Italy!

I want to share with you my new frameset, i know there is already a topic with this frameset but is difficult to "identify" it.  ;D

First of all i placed the order on 13 February, today 23 March the frame was painted and ready to ship.

Here the geometry chart:

And some pics of the painted frame:

Glossy white with top tube in raw carbon (glossy) finished. But i think they made it black  ::)

My size is 56.
BSA bottom bracket.

I will complete it with (from previous bike):

-Shimano 105 R7020 2x11 hydraulic
-FSA SL-K 46/30 with power2max
-Kocevlo Integrated gravel handlebar (44x100)

For wheels & tyre combo i have (from previous bike)
-Hunt 35mm Gravel carbon wheels - 700c
-Farsport 40mm Gravel carbon wheels with dt swiss 350hub - 650b

Will keep update when i received the frame and start the building.

Re: Spcycle 2023 New Travel 120mm Super Light 29er full suspension frame Headset routing is a marketing play to make maintenance of traditional cable pull systems so annoying people just break down and throw away money on wireless systems lol. Headset routing sucks, especially on mountain bikes.

Re: Carbonda FM909
That's very strong!
May I ask what you had to pay >:( ?
Those carbon spokes are really not cheap  ;D

$1,550 shipped to Europe
Which is about $300 more than with Sapim CX-Ray

I'll build one 909 for me in the coming weeks.
And ordered wheels even lighter.
I'll report about them when received.
