Bike looks fantastic, be sure to let us know how it rides (perhaps when it warms up  ;D)

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
First Impressions video is live. VeloBuild also sent me an EPS latex molding of the frame, as well as a broken down cut up carbon frame to inspect the insides of the frame. I discuss this in the video. Pretty cool!

Great video! I did my first ride with the 177 and I really liked the feeling of the ride compared to the VB-099. The 177 feels more nimble/agile and compliant over uneven roads, considering most of my rides are over bad tarmac I really liked the change. As for the fork issue with the rivet not being parallel, Velobuild was nice enough to send me a new one, once I get the new fork I will update the ride experience.

My bike weighs 8.1KG with 105 Groupset and Elite DT240 Wheels (38MM)

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
. One thing to note with the separate handlebar/stem, is that getting the compression plug and expander bolt to properly take up all the slack/play in the fork has been tricky. Perhaps I just need to cut the steerer a little shorter to allow the dust cap to further compress without crushing it.

The cap doesn't sit flush with the stem, thats why its hard. I was considering buying a Deda Superbox stem because of that. Just waiting for the new fork to decide what to do.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame This is beast assembled :)

Very happy with the results. This is my second time building a fully integrated bike, and this time the process went a lot smoother. Totally worth over exposed cables. It looks stunning.

Happy biking everyone. May your builds finish without issues!

Re: Recommendations for a carbon saddle?
I ordered one of these based on the previous recommendations. Waiting for it to arrive any day now. I’m closer to 89 Kg or so, so we’ll see how long it lasts! Would be a huge weight savings compared to my Specialized Power Comp.

Update on my EC90 saddle, it cracked  :-[

Rails seem to be ok but as picture, the left side next to the cut out cracked. It must have splintered a few rides ago as I started to notice by bibs were catching on something but it wasn't obvious. Then on my last ride this weekend the sharp pieces of carbon tore a bunch of holes in one of my nicest bibs and it became clear...

I've contacted the seller a couple of days ago (EC90 Official Store) and so far they have have read the messages but not responded. I was very close to buying another of these saddles for my gravel bike as I have been super happy with it up until the crack on the while riding it on the road bike. Not sure if what I got was a dud or I should expect this to happen again. I'm 90Kg and the saddle says it can support max 100Kg.

Re: Recommendations for a carbon saddle?
Not sure as the picture is a bit blurred, but it looks like an impact.
I hit one like this one day, putting the bike against a pole to park it, and the saddle hit the pole too hard, and cracked, not that much, but enough to catch my bib too.

At that price, I see them as another disposable part of the bike, and have always one home as a backup.

Here is another photo. I hadn't thought about this being an impact related issue and I can't think of a time the saddle hit something but may it was more subtle and didn't take much.

Finally after getting Aliexpress to send the seller a "reminder" about the issues they responded and offered a replacement. Will see how the next one works out. Hopefully all goes well and I'll replace the saddle on my other bike with one of these as well!

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Hi guys, just an update.
I’ve solved the little play of the steerer with this expander.

BTW, more than 1.500km, still very happy!
