Re: LTWOO eGR
I was excited about this group when I first heard about it but with all the issues ERX has had, I'll definitely wait this one out a bit.
Same, either that or wait for Sensah. If their full mechanical group's quality is any indication, I think Sensah will be better than what LTwoo did in first attempt.

Re: Eddie's Airwolf YFR066 Build Thread Finally got my first short ride in with the bike fully assembled (Seattle and the rainy weather bleh). Bike is very agile, frame is not totally noodley for me, but could be stiffer. If I were to do it again, still would consider throwing a couple hundred more on a different frame.

Anyways thought I'd drop a photo to share the complete build. Happy with the Di2 105 drivetrain too!

Total weight clocked in at 8.1kg including pedals, tires, tape, water bottle cages... everything you see here minus the water bottle itself. Not bad!

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame I have just finished 600km and 7000m of climbing over 6 days on my frame riding to watch the Tour Down Under stages on some pretty poor road surfaces. So far the frame has performed above expectations.

Re: Onirii One A couple pictures of the final bike. I'll post a more thorough review (in a month or so) about how it rides. Things are pretty busy for me at the moment and I don't have much time to test it.

Some notes on the build: I'll get it weighed at some point, sadly I don't own a good scale for getting the final weight of a full bike. It should be right around 15lbs/6.8kg though. I had to go in with a file to clean up some of the holes for wires and brake hoses (hole that leads up to the front derailleur and hole that leads out to the rear derailleur). I'm not a big fan of where the wire exits the chainstay to connect the rear derailleur. It just leaves a lot of exposed wire that should probably be held down with a zip tie. Bottom bracket threads were very clean and the BB threaded in easily. I've encountered some pretty crappy bb threads on brand new bikes in the past but the threads on this frame where very clean and the BB threaded in easily. Once the bikes has more miles on it, I'll take out the crank and check the axle to see if there are any signs of wear from the bearings that would indicate bb misalignment. It was a little hard to see in the the threads where the caliper mounts on the fork but I could see a hint of blue inside, I'm guessing they pre-applied some Loctite.

The most intense modification I made was drilling a hole in the handlebar down by the Junction-A so the di2 wire could exit the bar. Initially I planned to route it through the bar and make a u-turn out the same hole the brake hose uses to enter the handlebar but my wire was not long enough so I improvised ::)

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress?
I’ll likely go down that route as well, Senicx paired with the Riro carbon cranks. HOWEVER, I’m a bit hesitant regarding the choice of the old 3 bolt system regarding availability of chainring replacement.
So far all I could find was senicx offering 30-46T chainrings in a 3 bolt spec. What happens if Senicx decommissions it I’m wondering… then you’re left with 1 by chainrings I guess? Or potentially using an adapter to a 4 arm chainring? The latter I only speculate, don’t have any experience.
You can probably use an adapter. Just see if your chainring sizes are offered in the BCD of the adapter you will buy. Or just buy a couple of Scenicx chainrings...  :)
Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but you can not use 1x chainrings in a 2x setup

Re: Patty's Long Rant and Guide To Affordable Frames I'm going to be brutally honest here as well.

I'm likely one of the "super experienced members" you mentioned.
For about a decade, I've been assembling frames and wheels directly from China.
My journey began with discovering groups like MTBR, iPlay, Pieter, etc., and eventually led me to chinertown.com
Infinite thanks and love to Sitar_Ned!!
I hope my contributions have helped build this fantastic forum and gave something back from what I learned here.

I'm fortunate to have a well-paying job that allows me to build bikes for friends and family as a hobby, at no cost to them.
My goal is to provide them with great bikes at fair prices and to make them happy.

I'm historically particularly biased towards Carbonda and Lightbicycle, brands that you amusingly never mention.
This isn't because they pay me (they don't). It's because, among all the providers I've tested, they have never let me down.
Their products are neither the cheapest nor overly expensive.
Moreover, if anything goes wrong, their customer support surpasses that of any Western brand I've dealt with.

I understand that some people, like Trace Velo, Joe, to some extent Hambini, many others, maybe you, chasing followers to carve out a living on YouTube and social media.

However, this has turned on the marketing machine around here.
No-name frames are suddenly sub par, while stickered frames selling at double the price, or even worse, branded frames are the real deal.
Persuading folks they need some stiffness and aero benefits only pros might need.
And it works! People are seeking broader validation and rely on branded visuals to reassure themselves they're not making a misguided decision.

It doesn’t bother me people trying do their thing on YouTube and elsewhere.
But your arrival here has sadly contributed unintentionally to the spoiling of the pristine wilderness that Chinertown once was  :'(
