Re: Groupset News
Odd to see a maximum cassette size of 46 teeth rather than the 50-52 teeth that is common on many 12 speed 1-by cassettes. I expect the ideal match will be the Microspline 10-45 cassette

I don't really see the point going electronic for 1x gravel. I think I'm more excited for the mechanical  Shimano GRX 812 12 speed RD. The 1x derailleur does 10-51t in-spec. If it as the same pull ratio as 11 speed GRX, you should be able to run that on both 10/11 speed GRX.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets While I enjoy Luke's channel, a lot of his bike issues are from user error. He's pretty much the average Joe with a YT channel when it comes to bike assembly.

He did fray his own battery connector!

YouTuber Peak Torque recently gave me this advice: Don't make YouTube your only or primary source of income.

When you start relying on YouTube to pay your bills, it's almost impossible to be completely unbiased. And you have the potential to start rushing out videos without doing your due diligence. Case in point.

Re: Groupset News I would like to share some information I have about the L-twoo eGR with everyone. The basic performance parameters, I believe, do not need further elaboration as they are clearly stated on the official L-twoo website(https://www.ltwoo.com/). However, the technical manual may not have been translated into English yet.

The comprehensive distribution of the eGR to the consumer market is likely to wait until early next year, and it may take even longer for overseas users. This could be due to the logic that L-twoo needs to have enough OEM orders (orders from complete bicycle manufacturers, such as XDS or TRINX) before being able to cater to retail consumers.

The eGR does not differentiate between aluminum alloy and carbon fiber versions. eGR is the only name, with an aluminum alloy handlebar and a carbon fiber rear derailleur cage.

The eGR's dual-control levers are not exactly the same as the eRX/eR9. L-twoo has modified the button shape of the eGR, making it larger and easier to touch. They have also improved the button feel, enhanced the button's travel, and improved tactile feedback.
(Here is a video showing the feel):
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1K94y1x7nu/?share_source=copy_web&vd_source=6df32e378224c6b777e3a0681a05b579

From the renderings and weight analysis, it appears that the left handlebar of the eGR still has buttons and can control the rear derailleur.

[One speculation: Perhaps both the left and right handlebars of the eGR can simultaneously control the same rear derailleur, and I hope there will be an app for customizing the buttons. This would make the eGR have a very interesting shifting logic, such as using the left hand exclusively for downshifting, with the slim buttons on the right for upshifting and the larger buttons for downshifting.]

In the future, L-twoo may continue to develop derivative products for the eGR, such as an electronic dropper seatpost. This could be the reason why the left hand of the eGR still retains its buttons.

L-twoo's ambitions go beyond this, and in the near future, they may release a completely wireless MTB electronic shifter, similar to what Wheel-Top and SRAM have done.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I have had a complete nightmare with the eRX groupset.  Managed to get the grand total of 1 mile on it before the rear derailleur stopped working, not a problem as these things happen.  Dealing with L-TWOO support is another matter... You basically get a small window of around 5 to 10 mins at around 8AM UK time where they read and may reply to your message and then that's it, they are gone for another 24h.   It's taken 6 weeks to get them to agree to send me a replacement rear derailleur.  In that time I have ordered a 105 Di2 groupset from China, waited for delivery, uninstalled the eRX and installed the Di2 and ridden 120km.

Cannot recommend, the replacement still isn't here

Re: Groupset News It’s juste the pace at which market moves and investors expected returns. It’s quick and easy to get a product that works 95% of the time, let the early adopters be the beta testers. Look at Tesla, and to a certain extent, bmw/VAG/Mercedes, they are not what they used to be in term of dependability because of that forced development pace…

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets True. But one of the key selling points of LTWOO er9 for me is the flexibility it offers. I wouldn't have to upgrade my drivetrain components. I keep my lightweight 11sp cassette. I keep my chain. I keep my powermeter crankset and I only upgrade to electronic shifting. In my country, the cheapest offer for LTWOO er9 is 460 EUR. Nothing else can match that.

105 Di2 at that kind of discount is tempting, but I'd have to upgrade to 12speed and downgrade some of my drivetrain components.
There's also super cheap offers for Sram Force etap upgrade kits. But again, I'm stuck with 12 speed, I need a different freehub body, different cassette, different chain, different chainrings. So all in all these options are always significantly more expensive.

If you build a bike from scratch and have no other components lying around, I agree that LTWOO is a lot less tempting, however.

Re: 3D Printed Saddles
It seems like there are 3 new Ryet saddles in total: T50 that is seen in the photos above, X6 and X7p. Not a fan of how X7p looks like, starts out nice and narrow, but then goes full triangle mode and gets real wide real fast. T50 looks nice and solid all around, although the pressure relief channel is bit narrow. X6 has similar shape to T50, but has wider relief channel and different looking mesh (not sure how it affects comfort). I kinda want to buy X6, but gotta see how comfortable is that different looking mesh. One interesting point across all three saddles is that they are advertising 1cm extra rail length.

T50: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005843482948.html
X6: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005871294163.html
X7p: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005871242590.html

I just received the X6 saddle and WOW. That's the best saddle I've ever used. It is super comfortable, it is almost flat and the length is great sitting in between short 24cm and long 28cm saddles. Just perfect for me.

I don't know what is the exact difference between the T50 but from what I assume the X6 has to be more comfortable with thicker padding. Because it weight 20g more and the only thing that is different is the 3d mesh. The base is the same.
Also when You look to the description it say road/mtb in the usage section, opposed to only road in the T50.

Based on this I think X6 is more comfortable. Tbh when I ordered I did not even notice that those 2 differ. I am using X6 for my road bike, but I think I will order one for my gravel bike asweel. I am a little tempted to try the T50, but on the other hand why choose other one if this one is so good. Especially that I have a collection of saddles I don't use in my closet and don't need more. And those aliexpress saddles are rather hard to sell, like ie the ryet premium superlight saddle which was just to hard for me.

Edit: after few longer rides I gotta change my opinion on the saddle. The padding on longer rides starts to hurt and rubs te contact points which causes pain :/

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets My take is that some of the criticism of Lwoo is unfair. Luke (trace Vello) admits that there was an issue with the trifox frame  where the FD hangar was moving. How sure is he that the FD did not sustain damage due to this? The other issue  is some persons are clearly purchasing  a beta version. At the time of their  purchase Ltwoo had not released hence it was not sold on their official page . Can  Ltwoo be blamed for persons who were part of its beta testing, turning around and selling the product they were to test?  There are simply too many variables, not being properly considered. I have 11 speed DI2 and I know there is an issue sometimes when you use the app, even after properly disconnecting, the gears won't shift. You cannot re-enter the app, because its now unable to see the device.. Took me awhile to figure out it still thinks its connected and I need to disconnect Bluetooth (Even Shimano released product has bugs)
