Re: Groupset News I'm looking out for:

1) The electronic-hydraulic versions.
2) Reports of how the hydraulic version works with Magura FM calipers.
3) Hoping that on the gravel side of things, the RD / FD will work with large(ish) cassettes and standard compact road rings - i.e. like the current 50/34 with 11/40 setup I'm currently running on my gravel bike - mechanical GRX 8xx RD, XTR 11s cassette, DA 91xx FD - that but wireless and without the Shimano / SRAM / Campag tax and being forced into 12s would be awesome.

Re: Groupset News Pretty nice...
I am also curious about fully hydraulic road shifters from Sensah... ? Will they also present some?

TanTan / Seraph new frame... GR047 Geometry etc looks like exact like Wilier Jena, except with T47BB rather than pressfit.
In talks with them to try to order one to update / replace the GR029 I'm on.

Gravel Build help, please Hey, so I have started my Gravel build, or started buying parts.  I plan the following, with a number of questions:

  • Waltly Ti frame - I'm going with their standard 2022 gravel frame. My main decision now is cabling:
    • all external cables - easy maintenance
    • all internal cables
    • external gear cables with internal brake hoses

  • Lun Grapid 650b wheels with 2.1 Btway tires - Already purchased
  • 1x drive train, but here is the issue. I would like mechanical gears with hydraulic brakes, however, looking at Sensah and Ltwoo they don't have hydraulics yet.
I like the idea of the Sensah shifting, not too sure about the Ltwoo thumb shifting - personal preference, I'm coming from Shimano
          Looking at some options:
    • Go with cable actuated hydraulic brakes, eg. Juin GT-F because Sensah and Ltwoo don't offer hydraulic.
    • I see Sensah SRX Pro 1x12 groupset on Aliexpress but didn't know Sensah had a 12 speed gravel groupset - anyone tried this or can vouch for it?
    • I see Ltwoo have Gravel groupsets coming in 12 speed with hydraulic.....someone said ETA of September but I don't see anything
    • Sensah I've seen mention hydraulic but by end 2022 - I don't want to wait 3 months

I'm interested in people thoughts about the 'external' v 'internal', and which groupset and brakes to go for.  1x12 would be my preferred option

Re: Groupset News I agree not having a dropper option for the left brifter is a bit sad, but I don't think it'll deter a lot of people from buying it, I was at 100b7 two weeks ago (one of the biggest gravel event in Canada with 1100+ riders) and I didn't see much dropper posts, and this event had some gnarly singletrack/cx downhills. Although I love mine on my fullsus I don't see much use for my gravel yet as I don't quite do the same sketchy stuff as on my mtb, plus I bikepack a lot with it and it's just more complicated getting a bag that works with the dropper imo.

Re: Groupset News Were they testing with Shimano/Sram cassette? If it's one of those aliexpress cassette (Sunshine, ztto, goldix etc.) shifting is always finicky, sometimes the cassette itself is loose (it's not riveted but screwed in with cheap screws. The ramps are bad etc.

Larger gap between pads does have an advantage though, usually results in less brake pad rubbing. Although if the throw is too long it might not be as responsive as Shimano brakes. I also did notice that using genuine hydraulic hose from shimano seems to be better than those cheap ones I found on Aliexpress for like a few quids per meter.

Again thanks for your hard work, hoping somebody like Trace Velo can review that groupset in the near future :)

Re: Surly coner bar equivalent
I know there's a carbon version of it on Aliexpress for like $80. Not too expensive (assuming the quality is good) considering it's carbon+a niche product. Maybe there's an alloy one too.

Re: Groupset News China cycling just released a video about this groupset

Not that much technical info like installation/bleeding/is there a clutch on derailleur/etc but you do have the pricing.

I'm still not sure about the ergonomics... On one hand it looks like it can be easily be shifted from the drops, but the thumb lever looks a bit far to be used on the hoods.

Re: Black Friday There will be sales on Aliexpress starting tomorrow. Elitewheels normally has some promo's, but don't expect too much :)

You should be able to find sensah parts cheaper from tomorrow. There is also 5 USD off for every 30 USD spent (max 15 usd) so that will give some extra savings.
