Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I agree with this but the price difference is massive. I have been using generic stuff for ages and works well. I've not removed it from any frames to which it is applied but I cut lengths of tape onto parchment paper then used a scalpel to cut the pieces nicely. Came out okay, definitely not like an Invisiframe kit though.

I use standard automotive protection film from amazon. It's like <30 EUR for 30x200cm or so. I cut it to the size I need and the 30x200 lasts for ages... I apply it with water and a hairdryer.

Re: New Gravel Frame Ican Graro
Those look like 40mm Ramblers in the photos, and it's already really close to the FD .. will a 45mm really fit on the rear in 2x on reasonably wide rims? I have my doubts,

Are you saying all that from this photo in question?

The BSA bb is rather a downside to me as bonded inlays have the potential to come loose. And then you are in more trouble than with a poorly fitted pressfit bb.

Have heard BB shell bore not perfectly round but haven't heard threaded insert coming loose. For me manufacturers going back to threaded BBs (BSA, T47) is a very welcome news.

Re: New Airwolf YFR056- Winow GF23 - CW GT30 - SPCycle G058 gravel frame 700x50, T47 I've almost finished my SPCycle GR058 build.  Frame took ages to come and then I ordered the wrong type of T47 (external when I needed internal).  Anyway, it's basically ready for a shakedown in time for the better weather.  Playing around with fit so ignore the swan-neck stem and upturned hoods.  I hate the size of the hydraulic hoods vs the old Ultegra 6800 ones I'm used to.

But the bike is fine, overall.  I thought toe overlap would be a major issue, but it isn't really (might be in winter mode with full 'guards on).  It came out at 8kg without pedals.  I've ordered some nylon M5s as there are so many (already rusting) bolts hanging to the frame that I'll save another 50gr here.  That's about 1kg less than my XC bike, I'm really interested how differently it rides on the same trails.

As others have said, paint looks good but is already flaky; facings & BB threads were clean and true, small parts of acceptable quality, semi-integrated has no sleeves but was alright to build.

If I like it enough I'll buy some Chinese carbon gravel wheels and Conti TerraSpeed tanwalls.  Proper ride report incoming.

Re: Spcycle New Mold G056 Carbon Gravel Frame Finally assembled the bike.

Size L, weight 8.2kg naked, 8.6kg ready to ride

I had a problem with the crankset and bb (token).
The spindle was to short. The solution was to get rid of preload adjuster and just put a spacer. Will probably change the crankset for sram force wide with power meter, as the senicx one has slightly big chainline. Chainring 44t.
- Wheels from yuanan with mana rotors and gravel thundero HD tires.
- Stem deda vinci - 17 with kovcelo 40cm handlebar with little flare.
- Hoods and brakes sram rival.
- Rd sram gx with garbaruk cage from Ali which makes is as light as xx1 version.
- Cassette sram eagle xx1 10-50 and chain also xx1.
- Saddle prologo scratch5 agx.

Bike is very comfortable and stable. Feels very good on descents and single tracks. On other hands feels slower then my previous bike - specialized Diverge e5 comp aluminum. But that one was basically a road plus/endurance bikes. I also had way better shape last year. Will see how much I like this bike inf few weeks.

Re: New Airwolf YFR056- Winow GF23 - CW GT30 - SPCycle G058 gravel frame 700x50, T47 It took two months from placing order to receipt in the UK.  Still worth it in my mind, the product is good.

Build Log - Carbonda hard tail for daughter's birthday. Well, my wonderful child has just turned 12, and having 2 parents over 6' - she has been growing like a weed.

She currently rides a Polygon Cleo 2 in XS that she got for her 8th birthday which has rapidly become too small for her.

After joining this forum, lurking and looking at AliExpress I thought it would be a good opportunity to use the collective knowledge of the forums and build my daughter a lightweight Chinese carbon bike!

My goal is pretty simple - I want to build a 29er bike that will last a good few years, and I want to to be as light (or lighter) than her current bike (XS frame, 27.5" wheels), I want it to be comfortable and capable on suburban streets, but I also want her to be able to to come riding with me on the MTB trails.

So I have started making purchases, and should hopefully have it ready to ride in a month or so.

Frame
I have gone with the Carbonda FM1306a.
I had sent an email to Wing last year enquiring about one of these frames for myself - but heard nothing back - that is when I found out that the emails had most likely ended up in my junk mail! Wing has been an absolute dream to deal with, super quick with replies, very detailed and helpful.
The frame ended up costing a bit more than I had hoped (US$230 shipping is a hard pill to swallow), and I also paid extra for the chameleon paint scheme as my daughter had requested it.

Fork
I was lucky to snap up a second hand RockShox SID off Facebook marketplace for AU$450. It was un-used, and taken off a 2024 Giant Anthem Advanced 29 3.

Wheels
I bought some EliteWheels off AliExpress - I will add more details later.

Brakes
ZTTO MTB Team Brakes in Silver and Gold.

I will update this post over the coming days with more information - been stuck busy at work...

Re: Spcycle New Mold G056 Carbon Gravel Frame
Awsome paint job! Can you tell a bit more how did you make it? What was your base color?

The bike was ordered as blue and I taped off sections using fineline and painted with epoxy paint. It looks ok from this distance but no so much close up. I also made a decal with photoshop.

Re: New Airwolf YFR056- Winow GF23 - CW GT30 - SPCycle G058 gravel frame 700x50, T47 I've taken the bike for a couple of shortish rides.  The only issues I have with the frame are the headset coming loose, despite proper pre-loading/torquing.  I am pretty sure this is down to the 'C' shaped compression ring, which is not great and I have asked SPCycle for a full 'O' replacement as my build is semi-internal.  They frame itself is great!
I've changed all the bolts (already rusted) for nylon or 4x ti for the bottle cages and saved 48gr for about £3.
The clearance on the frame is enormous, my Panaracer GKSK43s look tiny, it'll fit massive mudguards easily.  Currently toe overlap is zero issue, may be slightly with mudguards to boot.
Have to say, I love the bike and for £1500 all in I think it is splendid.
