Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame These frames are small. I also believe that size M is too small for you. I have ordered this as well and went with L.  I am 179cm, inseam 83cm and decided between L and XL. Since the seat tube is quiet steep the top tube becomes short. So with your preferred reach the seating position will be very small.

My current size L bike is in between this L and XL and that is spot on.

I hope this helps your decision!

I'm not locked in yet so I can change it. Can you tell me why you think this would be to small?

If I go off what bike manufacture suggest they put me at a large based on my height. My concern with getting a larger size is I don't want to feel stretched out or hunched over the front of the bike while in the seat position. I prefer to me more in a neutral position. While my current bike is a one size fits most it would fall on the large size. Event though I've slackened the front by 2 degrees, shorter stem, and installed bars with more back sweep I still feel hunched over and baring to much weight on my hands. I know guys my height prefer the medium over the large. I also know guys that are way taller than me that fall into the XL but prefer the large.

Like everyone we want to make sure we get the right size so we don't get stuck with something that doesn't fit and not enjoyably to ride. I've been researching sizing the best I can so if I'm missing something please let me know. I really want to make sure I get the correct size that fits me best.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Hello, I've been following along on this forum for quite a while to pick up all kinds of tips and experiences (thanks to all of you)... then decided to make my first bike build ever.
After a long time of collecting parts, I finished my build last week and in the meantime made a first ride (in the flatlands of flanders  :D )...
It's no comparison to my 11 year old 26" Rockrider hardtail  ;D

It is a size M frame (N not SL), Elite wheels, Sram GX groupset and Marzocchi fork (was the only fork available and within my budget).
Maybe not easy to see in the picture but the colors are candy red and silver metallic.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread! Bike finished; lighter than expected at 12.3 Kg, where the tyres alone are 2 Kg! I will make a build thread later on if I will have time, for now main components list:
Fork manitou mezzer, rear shock DT swiss 531, rims carbonality carbon asymmetric with dt swiss hubs, tyres maxis DHF ant  + rekon post, saddle, post, pedals aliexpress, handlebar OG evkin, groupset and brakes shimano XT.
Test drive:  I climbed steep asphalt road (average 18%) and the position is ok, no front wheel lifting despite the 4 cm spacers under stem, also I appreciated the lock on rear shock and the mezzer with all dials at maximun is stable too; the bike isn't very fast on flat road, it's hard to mantain 30 km/h, probably due to the draggy tyres, but uphill doesn't feel worse than my 9 Kg XC bike; downhill as expected is a all trails  eater, very fast on flow sections, I really enjoyed the ride; of course it needs more suspension tuning.

Re: cybrsrce AM831 build There is a good chance it wouldn't hit with the race that came with the Hellbender but I figured the +3mm would be fine anyway.

Almost finished product for Eddy's playlist.

Re: Stumpjumper clone Hello everyone!
Assembled a bike on a frame from AirWolf. I waited a very long time for production (one and a half months), and then another 3.5 weeks of delivery. I turned to him because of the promises to make any color (I wanted the blue SJ 2019 Expert), but it turned out that he can only do a few templates. He applies the logo and text with a sticker, not under the varnish.
The terrible quality of the metal inside the thread in the frame, one bolt turned (the frame was sent to me disassembled due to the restrictions of the postal service on the dimensions of the parcel), but at a risk, I put it on the blue thread lock. Perhaps I will order a new bolt from the turner, since the thread in the frame is deep, and the screw (similar to the original one) uses only ~ 7mm of it.
I took a RockShox rear shock, ordered an original flip chip, and here is the first failure - it does not fit the Chinese link (EXTENSION). The height of the flip chip is about 16mm, and the groove in the link is 13.7mm. Using physical force, I inserted a shock absorber into the link, but it looks unsafe. I ordered a 14mm bushing for an 8mm bolt. The original bolt for the upper mounting of the shock absorber was too long, shortened it by 3mm (this was reported above in the topic). I also ordered a 21.8x6mm top mount bushing, and it fits much better than the included bushing (it got loose). So if you use an RS shock absorber, then order 21.8x6 and 14x8 bushings right away, you will save a lot of nerves. I would be grateful if you could recommend FOX hubs (I only use RS on my bikes and am not familiar with FOX).
I did not succeed in closing the cable routing hole as in the tips above (with a rubber plug). I sealed the place with a protective film, made a hole in it, and pulled the cables through them.
The original chain guard fit perfectly, as did the axle. I also used another clamp, the Chinese one is huge (and heavy).
Depth for seat post approx. 170-175mm (frame size L).

After assembly, as in the photo (without bottle), the weight came out 12.85kg
The RS Super Deluxe shock has a very large reservoir can, which interferes with a 750mm bottle with a cap. I'm thinking of putting Fox on, it has a smaller tank :)

P.S. Sorry for my english (google) :)
