Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets StiffWeenies posted a video with a guy using a r7000 working with the rx 12 speed shifters and 12s cassette.  I will be swapping in my other rd's to see what works as well.  I want to see if the srx or ulterga rx can work. I was told the ltwoo gravel rd has a range of 11-52.  I want to see if 9 or 10 is possible and if the rx road rd can use a 36. I will throw on a 40t if there is enough room with the 36t cassette

I took the pads out of the brakes. I put in shimano style k03s and l02a pads. I doubt the shimano j0 models will work.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! These small but valuable tidbits were unavailable locally so got them from Alix. I realize the importance now. Always assumed them to be unnecessary bits until I built the bike and was unable to find them easily.

Ordered one of each.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I get it:

LBS = bad
Amazon = bad
REI = good
Aliexpress = good the majority of the time if you can wait 2 weeks to a month for delivery.
Other online bicycle part suppliers = good when the price is right.

Working on your own bicycles = priceless.

Re: What is the general vibe like with ordering from China these days?
Apparently, either everyone is named Chris there or there is one person that never sleeps and responds within a few hours and is pretty nice to work with

I've come to the conclusion that Chris is an idea. A mindset. A philosophy...

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I Finally received the second to the last 11-11 sale Item I purchased on November 9th.  An EDS rear derailleur kit.  Appears to be of high quality.  It will be a while before I pick which bike to run it on.

2nd bike considerations Afternoon all,

First of all thanks for all the info on these forums. My knowledge on bikes and parts is limited, the forums help and are fun to read.

I currently own a Winspace T1500D, which I'm quite happy with. I'm thinking about a second bike for frequent commuting. I live in an area with quite some short steep climbs and the roads are subpar in some parts of my route. So I would like to match my second bike with wider tires. On my Winspace I'm using 25c. I

Looking at Chinese vendors for a SL7 inspired carbon disk brake frame. Mainly because of good reviews of the original frame, while realising they are not the same thing. Found VeloBuild's VBR168 and a copy from a Taiwanese vendor on Aliexpress. I've been exchanging messages with the Taiwanese vendor today, quick replies and a lot of pictures for reference on models and colours. His business handle seems to be Carbonbikefactory777, claiming to be based in Taiwan.

  • Does anyone here have any experience with frames coming from this specific vendor?
  • Can anyone comment on Velobuild vs Aliexpress vendors when it comes to SL7 hommages?
  • What would be the max width wheels/tires I can use on the SL7?
  • Any other suggestions for a good second bike, over the SL7 hommages?

Attached a pic of my current bike. Thanks in advance for any replies.

BXT-Gravel-135 I ordered this frame as a build for my wife. It will also be used as the main bike on the direct drive trainer in the basement. We ride the same size so this works out well.
Ordered during the 11-11 sale for about 310 USD and just received today. They actually shipped it FedEx, this might be because I complained how long it was taking to ship.
Ordered in the basic white. Assumed they would have had that in stock and ready to go. Took weeks to actually shipped but arrived in 5 days after shipping.
This is actually my 5th Chinese frame bike and the second BXT. The first BXT is a fat bike and has held up well riding it the last couple of winters. I also have a carbonda 696 gravel and 936 mtb. Also have a SPCycle hardtail that gets minimal use :)
Initial impressions are so-so. There are a few spots where the body line doesn't look perfect under the paint, the paint is ok, nothing to write home about, the fork front is really rather oddly shaped and a few bolts in the back are to long to properly insert.
Now I know this is a cheap frame so some of this is to be expected. The actual carbon work looks good so I have faith.

This bike will be getting built up with the 1x11 hydro sram setup from by 696 as that is getting an axs setup. I have most parts but am waiting on a few things so I expect to have it fully done in a month or so.

BXT-Gravel-135 (Ali)
Kocevlo Gravel Carbon Integrated Handlebars (Ali)
SRAM Rival 1x11 Shifters and brakes (Takeoffs)
SRAM 10-42T Cassette (Take off)
Prime Baroudeur Road Disc Wheelset (Wiggle.com)
Panaracer GravelKing SK 38c
Zeroing Road Crank w/ 40T (Ali)
TOSEEK Carbon Seatpost (Ali)
zRace Centerlock 160mm Rotors
Brown Carbon Seat (Ali)
Brown SuperCaz Bar Tape

Will be applying some decals and paint protection film before starting the build as well.
This will be the first fully integrated cabling build I have done so I look forward to the swearing and frustration!

Anyone try these chainrings out?
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804073106677.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&_randl_shipto=US

They look nice. Wondering if/how well they actually work with 12 speed drivetrains.

I already use some Stone chainrings on my 1x Gravel bike.
Material and machining seem excellent and the lifetime of the rings seems much better than cheap chainrings from Zrace and others.
The weight is also lighter than the Zrace chainrings that came with the RX crankset.

The image below is for my new road project (Shimano 105/Di2 12 Speed) using a Sigeyi PM and at the moment combined RX DUB Crankset... Crankset may change if I find some nice and light carbon cranks.
Currently using the original 105 crankset until I find lighter carbon cranks, so can not tell you how well these chainrings work with 12 speed but expect no problems.

BR Chris
