Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
This is beast assembled Very happy with the results. This is my second time building a fully integrated bike, and this time the process went a lot smoother. Totally worth over exposed cables. It looks stunning. Happy biking everyone. May your builds finish without issues! January 12, 2022, 05:04:58 AM |

Multiple storefronts for the same vendor
Anyone who's been shopping for Chinese bikes and parts will start to recognize that the same companies own several storefronts under different names. As an aid to the newcomer to Chinertown, here are a few of the ones I've noticed. Additions and corrections welcomed.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Hi guys, thank you for all your advice, here is finally my bike mounted. Very happy final weight:7 kg pedals. Two exits the first two hours per setup, the second over 4 hours and a drop 1600 meters, excellent sensations. January 16, 2022, 09:45:34 AM |

Re: Chinese Carbon 29er Pic Thread.
I have just completed this Carbonda FM936 for my wife. It ended up being 12.6kg / 27.8 lbs and rides our local terrain very nicely. These forums were a great resource to make sure the build went smoothly. Also just for fun, is a picture of my Hongfu FM015 road bike I've had since ~2011 January 16, 2022, 09:59:05 AM |

Re: Titanium Gravel bike: PYTitans build thread
Thats a great looking build! Did you have to source your own fork or was that part of the deal with PYTitans? Paint job on it looks fantastic. I chose a different fork from the Aliexpress seller Cwind: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003127524864.html The quality was not as good as I hoped, I had to clean up the threads and the contact area for the flat mount calipers. But with some elbow grease the problems were solved. I decided to give a home made paint job a go and used the "marble" look. Automotive "Blue metallic" spray paint and a plastic foil were used to transfer the pattern to the fork. The original matte black was sanded slightly with 800 grit sandpaper in preparation of the paint job. To finish the surface I gave it two coats of clear 1k automotive grade lacquer. Here is a video where I got the idea for the paint job: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PuX8LNhLNTI" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Maybe a full frame paint job in the future.... Re: FS830 Enduro Frame - Stef Biggel’s build
A lot of people, including me, was wondering how the links are designed and where the Bearings are build in. Now its clear, they put the bearings left and right into the Frame and smash it with a throw axel. The head of the axel is conical, so there ist a very stabel centric conection: January 22, 2022, 01:08:44 PM |

Re: FS830 Enduro Frame - Stef Biggel’s build
As (i guess) quite normal, there is no grease in the bearings. So i open all and put grease inside. When i turned the bearings i thoght that the lowest right is rubbing. Later when the shock was mount i can‘t detect a problem in function. Checking the play of the linking Parts with lateral force show that all fits together well. January 22, 2022, 01:14:54 PM |
