Re: How addictive is bike building?! Wheelbuild has been phenomenal. 1320g for a set of 50/55mm deep/28mm wide wheels, steel spokes. I'm planning to make a dedicated post detailing the adventure soon, as well as some tips and tricks. Lots of time invested though.

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame
Nice! Which one did you sign up for?

I managed to get some original small parts from my LBS; bottle boss cover plate, Downtube and chain stay protectors. The Cervelo seat clamp does not fit, for that reason I sanded the the one that came with the frame and spay painted matte black  ;D

I´m repeating Basajaun ultra gravel, did it also in 2022. 850 kms and +15.000m.  :o

Re: Recommendations for integrated handlebar? Alright that photo of the gap was bothering me.  I took a construction knife to the top cap area and cut/chiseled/scrapped off some material.  Much better.

(yet another) Gravel Bike Build Seemingly like everyone else, I'm planning to build a gravel bike in the next couple of months. Currently in the process of rebuilding a commuter with some L-Twoo eR9 and parts, and then will get going.

My plan is to build something similar in capability to a Canyon Grizl...50mm+ tyre clearance (ideally MTB wheels), and (assuming I get on with the eR9) I'll probably plump for the eGR 1x12 (which I believe limits me to a 46-tooth rear). A screw-in BB (BSA or T47) is a must, due to previous experences with pressfit BB's. THis would be my first prmiarily chinese build...I've used wheels and occasional components before, but never a full build.

The LightCarbon LCG071S-D looks promising
https://www.lightcarbon.com/new-carbon-gravel-frameset-with-integrated-stem-system_p171.html

...however I'm only used to ordering off AliExpress, and I cannot find a LightCarbon presence on there, so struggling to get an idea of cost. Do you have to contact the company directly?

I've also found this
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005678330464.html

Which looks good, but for this struggling to find any reviews or opinions.

Finally, I see a lot of notes on vouchers and discount codes...is there anywhere to find these?

Re: chinese carbon saddles
I have a Mixed 5D 143mm I liked so much I bought a backup one

I believe it weighed about 117g. I usually run a 150mm saddle but I found it pretty comfortable at 143. Didn't look how ugly the Mixed 150mm one looked

Have you got a link to said saddle please? My experience some years ago with AliX saddles were that they were light, none broke, but none were comfy but these come up well reviewed here so worth a punt.

Thanks
Jake

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I really like these emonda looking frames. If you ever see one capable of taking 32C, please message me.
I actually rode today with a guy who has a 6000 EUR emonda di2. Such a nice bike. He's an ex pro so in my book he's allowed to spend 6k on a bike :p

Re: LTWOO eGR I've been opening the app before and after each ride lately and taking screenshots as that's the easiest, most straightforward way for me to document shifts and battery usage. My last 2 rides totaled 65 miles and 1,167 shifts and the battery dropped from 100% to 91%. That ain't bad at all.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
I had the GR9 hydraulic levers paired with the Zrace XG calipers, design, weight and color choice were attractive at the time.
My experience with the calipers was less than stelar... the back brake did never work, even after several bleeds. The brake feeling was always soft and not very assuring on steep downhill rides. Installed the heavier L-Twoo calipers and breaking feel and performance is now good.

This is funny, I just did the opposite. My LTwoo calipers worked fine, but the weight gain going with the ER9 was bugging me. I had ZRace XG calipers I bought on a whim awhile back and decided to install them. In the process I also opted to switch to 140mm rear rotors and cut a few extra grams. I didn't even do a proper bleed since I did a direct swap with the calipers. Brake feel is surprisingly good with the ER9 levers. The weight savings is quite significant because I cut about 100g from the calipers.

BTW - do you have a photo of your heat shrink cables? I'm using a coat of rubber cement + dielectric grease on my cables, but now I'm realizing it's a bit of a dirt magnet. I'd prefer a much cleaner application if possible!

Re: Hubs for gravel wheels compatible with 142mm through axle and 135mm quickrelease Novatec 791/792 and 411/412 can do what you want I think. Just check the novatec webshop for the conversion parts.

Re: Hubs for gravel wheels compatible with 142mm through axle and 135mm quickrelease The 411/412 are decent hubs. I use them on my gravel and on my roadbike. Have done 1000's of kms with them. They need some maintenance and replacement of the bearings from time to time (I use cheap Ali bearings) but I've not have anything fail on me.
Replacement parts and freehubs are cheap and easy to find.
