Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Seen any in white? It's my theme on my builds, but I can't find a 3D printed one.

Here’s this.

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
...About bibs, they are heavier than well known brands and thus warmer...
So you have what you pay for, don't expect a miracle  ;)

I had this hot plastic bag impression with a spexcel bib I tried.

Not these Darevie: https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExJuwDh
I did rides in very hot weather and they are just fine.
And at $36, I can't find anything better.

Anecdotally I moved out from black bibs and don't look back
You just to have to be more careful at your nature breaks 8)

Re: Ultralight hardtails I just came across the Spcycle SP-M038 which claims to be 780g!

Can't find any mention of someone online actually reviewing one or even talking about it though.

Re: Ultralight hardtails Great looking option but be aware that the rear brake mount is the same as the M016 frame so some calipers will not work. For Shimano, SLX and up will be fine but some of the cheaper ones, M6000 in particular, have a bleed port casting that hits the frame.

Rockrider ST900 20" upgrade So I got that bike for my son a couple of month ago, great bike at that price
https://www.decathlon.com/products/kids-bike-20-st900?variant=39409795104830

but suffers from the same issues as most of the kids bike:
-rotoshift, but he doesnt have the strength to rotate it (5yo), especially when loading the pedals
-gearing is for kids to mess around in driveway and paved roads, not on the trail

I had him testing mine and my wife bike thumb shifters, and that seems to work for him, so I'll upgrade to shimano TX 30 I think, it seems many people do that. For the chainring, it is currently a 34T I am thinking of changing to 32 or 30 so he can actually use more than the top two sprockets when riding on a trail. I am kind of tempted to move to 30T with shorter crank to gain some ground clearance too (135-140 instead of 145mm).

Anyone's done that and has some feedback?

Re: Rockrider ST900 20" upgrade Thanks for thorough answer! You have me doubting on crank length, I’ll check that when I get home!

Re: Rockrider ST900 20" upgrade So it is 145mm, and square hole crankset. Off to AliExpress to try and find some 30/32T with 120/130mm cranks (10%of his height according to this http://www.bikesmithdesign.com/Short_Cranks/cranks4kids.html) Crankset is one piece so no choice but replacing cranks too…

Re: Carbonda FM909 @vipassana Thanks for the kind words!  :D

The blip box and blips were from a build that got cancelled. If you’re considering this setup, you’ll need to figure out the mounting.
On my 936, I used a 3D-printed match maker between the piccola and the blip. But in this case, the included mounts fit perfectly where I needed them.
Then the routing, and figuring out a stable spot for the box. The good news is you can now micro-adjust the rear derailleur using the app. Before, I had to take apart the fork just to access the box.

The bar doesn’t seem to flex. They claim it’s T1000 carbon, and it’s well built, both inside and outside. I’ll push it a bit more on my next ride and see if I notice any special flex.

Regarding the wheels, using the same rims and spokes as yours but with DT 240 hubs would save you over 100g. This time, I chose the XC924, which is slightly lighter than the XC925 but narrower.

Once you get over the sticker shock  :o, the piccola are awesome brakes. A simple design, they feel great to actuate, and never had a bad surprise even on long descents.
I'm not sure what is DT-Swiss doing from them.
It was definitely easier to get some before.
