Re: Light Carbon LCFS713 build.
Did you try running it with the BB out? I always run mine before I put the bb in, makes it so much easier having that extra access point.

Thanks for the tip, I will do that. :-)

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
That is pretty bloody good customer service right there. Just how long have you had the frame, time wise, not km's?

I spent months arguing with Felt over a cracked frame which they eventually denied.  fortunately for me I'm Aussie so as soon as I mentioned Department of Fair Trading to Wiggle they offered me a choice of two different frames.

I ride this frame with November 2020

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+

Stuff like this:

" ps: As a frame supplier, we understand the frame better. "

Wow.  That would piss me right off.   I doubt I'll buy another frame from TanTan in the future.   Its a shame because Ive been quite pleased with mine overall, and they did right by me.  Too many other people having a bad experience with them.  Not worth the risk now.

Re: Light Carbon LCFS713 build. Everything installed now on the bike. Only adjustments of brakes and gears left. Maybe some more frame protection as well. But I'm really happy with the build so far. There is always small things to struggle with but I'm in no hurry, autumn, rain, mud, is here and this bike will not be ridden before spring.

Re: Stumpjumper clone After riding the trail, I checked the bolts on the lower links on the frame. They destroyed the threads and turned effortlessly in it. I ordered new bolts, longer ones, as the threads in the frame are much deeper. At the same time, I changed the bearings to normal ones (2RS), there were bearings that were not intended for such conditions (sand was clogged in them after the first trips).
The bottom shock absorber bushing 14 * 8 fits perfectly into place, much stronger than a flip chip.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+
Just going to throw out there that I have finally given in and swapped out my 27.5 x 2.8's for 29 x 2.3's and the bike has come alive. Almost identical weights on both wheelsets so it's not that, just rolling resistance and no more pedal strikes. Will be going back to the 175 cranks asap.
Funny you should mention that.  I just built up a set of 29er hoops on M1 hubs with DT swiss internals the last two nights.  Got it all taped and mounted up this morning.  Hoping to take it for a shakedown run tomorrow night.  Ive been riding 29ers on my little 100mm travel bike, but now I can swap 27.5x2.8 and 29x2.35 out at will on this bike.  Moving from nobby nics  to maxxis forekasters made the pedal strikes unbearable, and I had to stretch the fork to 160 to compensate.  The 29ers should alleviate that.  Glad to hear you like the new wheels, good luck with it.

Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort I just dismantle, some more pictures:

Spring retention ring:

Ratchet rings:

I will compare with my DT350 hub that I have already... just to see if they are compatible like everybody says.

it could be good, DT replacements are easy to find.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+ Whose frame bolts came with loctite pre-applied? All my pivotsl bolts came with blue loctitepre-appplied, but were very under torqued. I torqued them all to 1nm below max indicated. Hopefully no one else loses any more bolts!

Also, I got the Bomber CR shock installed. 185x52.5 trunnion It's a perfect match for this frame's leverage curve. Ultra plush with a good pedalling platform at the sag point - no bob. With the 500lb spring installed the shock is almost 1kg! For the performance, the weight is easily worth it.

Other than receiving the wrong rear spacing (142 instead of 148) I'm really digging the bike on the light trails around my home. I plan to take it for a proper ride this weekend.

Re: Random tools/clothes/one-off gadgets you recommend buying from Aliexpress?
Do you have any safety concerns with the possibility of this compromising the helmet in a crash,? If you are unlucky enough to fly off and hit the top of the helmet while something like this is strapped on... I don't want to know what would happen.

Safety aside, looks pretty cool haha

I go with the logic that if I can see much better and improve the chances that I'd be seen at night, then the chance of crashing on something strap to my helmet is significantly decrease. Plus, the light can easily be mounted or removed, so I only attached it during the dark when needed. With that, I rather have it than worry about crashing on the wrong side of my helmet.

Re: Shimano GRX on AliExpress If it is 007Bike Store, you can trust them.
They just ship without the boxes.
