Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Happy New Year's everyone!

I'm looking at AliEx cranksets and stumbled on these carbon cranks:

I want to free up some weight on my road bike. I'm noticing quite a few of these cranksets on AliEx are using 7075 T6 alloy for the axle. I currently have a 105 R7000 crankset and all the other AliEx cranks I've seen weigh near or more, so this carbon crank is the only one I see that would cut significant weight. Also I currently use an Ultegra threaded BB, I'm guessing since this crank uses a 24mm spindle, there's no need to switch it out? Thanks for any input!

I also just ordered a pair of these to try them out... will update in this thread once they arrived and are installed. :-)

BR Chris

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
Still relevant in the sense of the lack of manufacturer instructions / support though. Even the brake bleed instructions video makes absolutely no mention of the free stroke adjustment:

Will be interesting to see how early reviewers go with the stiff paddles + return of the right lever and whether these things have been fixed.

Hi

Paddle stiffness is solved (see tracevelo's video comment section), there's a screw in the ratchet to increase and decrease stiffness. The brake softness is solved with a combination of
closing the huge gap of the pistons by actuating 10-15 times the brakes without rotors and then finely adjusting the freestroke screw (you have to be super careful not to screw it too much or it pops out, it was a 2-3h pain in the ass to put mine back in). I did that to mine and now the brake is super responsive.

And as I told to Chinacycling and Tracevelo, my paddle returning was never a real issue. Sure it sometimes does not go all the way up, but thst does not block downshifts in my case.

So in summary, levers fine (I think I prefer the clean design of Sensah, but it doesn't bother me to have the side lever), brakes are fantastic, front derrailleur is perfect. Rear derailleur ... So so. I have some issues with my chain (gx eagle) jumping around near the lower pulley when downshifting + going to small chainring at the same time. It sometimes lands at an inclined angle. I have replaced the lower pulley with a narrow-wide profile one (in my opinion, the original should have been like that) and it has definitely improved, but still the shifting is not as crisp as I would like. Maybe with a sram flattop chain or with a chain from other manufacturer. Or maybe with another casette.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Simply amazing.  My $15.49 USD all carbon, padded, 132 gram saddle arrived today.   Appears to be of good quality.   (I can't believe that for years, I purchased Sella Italia Flight series saddles for over $100 each.)    Can't wait to put it on one of my rides and test how it feels on the sit spots.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I couldn't stand not having any parts on order from Ali express.    Ordered a few parts for a future build.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! My copy of the saddle that you all got is here! I have to agree with general sentiment how good it feels for the price. I did order one with Ritchey wcs logo in fear that no-logo version might come with some funny Chinese name on it. The logo print itself is not too bad and whole thing clocks in at 135 grams.

Re: BXT-Gravel-135 Got it mostly built up.
The cable routing through the frame was a piece of cake minus the handlebar, that however is not its fault as that is from another manufacture. The exit of the bar is far to angled to allow proper shifting. Ultimately had to cut a relief channel. Hoping the bar it self holds up.
Other than that build was smooth.
I am waiting on some longer tubeless valves as the ones Prime included with the wheel are to short for a pump to actually attach to.
Once I get those setup I hope to actually get out on a shakedown ride but the weather will dictate that.
