Re: Chinese cycling clothes
One notable exception seems to be Spexcel? In the item and review photos of this product the legs seem to be cut almost too long? The caption says the model is 180cm and wears size S, but the leg grippers are almost loose at their knees!
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005343407124.html
always take descriptions of chinese stores with a grain of salt
and always look for reviews with photos and detailed information, those are more trustworthy
these are 2 of the main things I learned in the 5+ years buying stuff from Aliex

on that case of the Spexcel Bib, there's a reviewer 1.80m/80kg who ordered M and the bibs are slightly shorter than the model on the photos (which would be wearing S)
another guy 1.80/72kg also with M size and this time the bib seems to match the length of the description photos, but here I'd add a factor most people forget (I included) when looking at bibs

description photos are studio photos, the model puts the bib on, takes the photo, then changes to the next bib
but when you start moving and then riding, the bib settles in and normally goes up a bit. That'd be the real length of the bib
so I'd consider more the photos of the reviewer riding and with a bent knee, than the one who's in front of a mirror just trying the bib after arrival

Re: Which frame could it be? BALDISO Air Flight One It's 100% the WCBR306. If you check all the design lines along the fork and rear triangle etc it's the same frame.

Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail
This is is a gorgeous build - what an awesome pink! Is the fork boost spacing, or non boost? I wonder if matching pink rigid forks would be too much pink?

You have inspired me to build a similar bike - I will send Carbonda an email to get the ball rolling!

edit - I can't see anywhere - is the rear axle non-boost?

Sorry for the extreeeemely long delay.
The unread posts on the forum, looses some after a while.

You might've heard from Wing by now.
It is boost – both front and rear.

I had the black fork in the workshop, it was a test, the rider wanted a suspension.
But I suggested a rigid would be fine for the type of riding she does.
After a few weeks, we ordered a pink one !

As Wing warned me, it is slightly different, as it was not painted together with the frame.
It's kinda hard to spot unless you're looking for it.
And nope, it's not too pink  ;)
Actually, everyone she bumps into wants to chat about her bike.

Re: SROAD lightweight cassettes
What kind of noise do you mean?
I heard that the lock ring can be the reason for squealing. That's why I just took my ultegra lock ring without even trying with the sroad lockring. And i had indeed noises after 100km, i disassembled the cassette then, put a lot more grease on the free hub body and since then it's absolute silent.

I have 2 sroad cassettes now, both silent with the described mounting. Maybe it can help you.

By the way.. the sroad cassettes changed their name to spedao.
Everything else looks the same. Did someone notice that? I wonder if it's really the same and only name has changed. I could need a new cassette for my daily bike and i am a bit uncertain now. Because also the price has dropped.

After riding it, the sound isn't as noticeable. I'll probably go back and add a lot more grease to the freehub. I guess it is called Spedao now. Oh well, SRoad sounds better! I'll probably order another one, once the "Back to School" sale starts in the next few hours.

Re: SROAD lightweight cassettes
I wasn't pounding it, more like gentle taps! Once on the free hub I was able to slide it up and down, it's just really snug. I'm going to test it out in a bit and see how it rides.

Update: I took SRoad cassette for a 25 mile break-in ride. On the road, noise wasn't as noticeable and shifting was the about the same as my Shimano cassettes. Honestly I don't know if the reduced weight makes a big difference, but pedaling seemed responsive.

The snug fit is part of why I like this cassette better than cassettes made of single cogs. The whole cassette creates one interface area with the freehub rather than each cog on its own, therefore completely eliminating cassette bite. That being said, I can take it off my freehub by hand - no problem. No need to hit it with a hammer. My lightweight Novatec alloy freehub still looks like new while a Shimano cassette would already have created bite marks no matter how hard I tighten it down.

I'm using the original lockring. No issues. It just works.
As for noise. I don't get any unusual shifting noise. The clunk when the chain jumps onto the next cog is definitely louder because the cassette - being one piece of steel - inevitably acts as a resonance body much more than individual cogs. Particularly when paired with deep section wheels. So yes, it does create more noise. But I don't mind. As long as it's not some kind of rattling or bad indexing noise.

I do now have 3000k on my 12sp cassette with minimal wear marks. I like it a lot, so far. If only they had an 11-34 for 12sp. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Re: Carbonda FM909 Here is my bling build !

Finally in the blue I wanted...

With the XX transmission + blip box + multi-click blips, this time without 3D printing needs.
Click right for a harder gear, click left for an easier gear, when both are clicked it's for the seatpost.
Unfortunately the wireless blips(no more expensive blip box needed) do not have yet the option/firmware? for the seatpost action.

The 2024 SID fork 110mm and SIDluxe shock, they have 3 positions now.
I was about to start the build, when the 2024 models arrived in the ... matching color, so I returned both to r2-bike, and ordered these instead.

Lightbicyle XC924 wheels, with aero carbon spokes at 1035g  :o

I took off the Piccola brakes from my FM936(replacing them by ONIRII ones)

One special mention for Fire Spider https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1100268111 for the bar, excellent product and great contact with the seller.
Fire Spider are the higher end products of Toseek.
It has all the holes to pass the cables, hoses with internal routing(I know top bearings rust... but it's so cute  ::))
I'll order a longer front hose to make it internal too, and drill the fork steerer.

I did 2 rides of about 70km so far.
With impossible objectivity  8)... It feels much faster and more nimble than my 120mm FM936
Especially when climbing. Love it !!

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
Any good winter clothes? Looking specifically for a jacket or cycling fleece
I have a winter bib from Ykywbike, long legs, fleeced up to the torso, used in some cold rides (down to 1ºC) and kept me warm but also not to the point of sweating too much
other than that no other winter clothing, but base layer and jersey/bibs I really like their products.
they have some new jacket out which seems good from the photos, I have some of their more expensive stuff and it's really top quality, the vendor has nice communication too, and that's what keeps me coming back to buy with them

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
Can you give a hint on the sizing?
I'm 1.73/63kg, skinny arms but 'normal' legs, for Ykywbike I normally go with S for jerseys/jackets, and M for bibs, always a good fit

Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort
The novatec 411/412 are road hubs, that's anyway not the correct for MTB?

I run Goldix Road hubs for roughly 400km.
I am still not 100% sure that the Ratchet will stay alive. But that's also because I read so much about failing Goldix Ratchets. I have 36T version.

I have a non-boost frame and I would change the end caps of the front hub to 15x100 (rear is 12x142). So this would fit. I have done the same with the 791/792 hubs that I am running now...

The R180 are also not specifically for MTB, but I asked the seller to change the caps to 15x100 and they agreed to do that.
They have a MTB specific set, the M180, but that was a lot more expensive, and by the looks of it, the only difference are the end caps and the XD freehub instead of the XDR.

This hubset uses a new kind of ratched it seems. So let's hope is does not fail like the older ones... This is the reason why I have stayed far away from these hubs until now...

EDIT: My MTB only sees very light use. It is for about 10 winter rides a year on some singletracks etc. I don't do big jumps or anything like that. That is why I am comfortable using 24-spoke road hubs on my MTB.

Flybike Asia FM906-D Build Hello Chinertown! Long time lerker first time poster. Anyway, I bought a frame directly from Flybike Asia (FBA) the other day and it showed up recently. I figured I'd post my build here.

I have a Carbonda CFR696 that I've been riding for about 3 years now and, as I understand it, is just a subsidiary of FBA; Anyway, the 696 has been an absolute tank with very little issues, so I decided to go on a climbing bike build journey. I reached out to FBA initially to buy direct and never received a response. About a year ago (Oct 21, 2022) I decided to try again and received a response from adam@hz-fb.cn. He was great to work with and very responsive. The final cost breakdown from FBA is as follows:

FRAME -     $590.00
HEADSET -   $15.00
SHIPPING - $190.00
PAYPAL -       $35.00
---------------------
FINAL $830.00

Timeline was:
Sept 5th - Invoice Paid
Sept 21st - Frame is finished and images are sent to me for confirmation
Sept 26th - Fame is shipped with Fedex
Sept 29th - Frame is delivered, packaging in good shape.

Details of frame:
Flybike Asia FM906-D (light weight version)
