Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset
I snagged this wheelset for a whooping 444€ including "tax-prepaid" shipping to Germany, in the 50mm variant, 21mm internal, but I asked for no decals.

I am now debating on which tire width to get. I will get a GP5000 non TL (with 19g TPU tubes), but the question is wether to get 25mm vs 28mm.

I have always had 25mm GP5000 tires and they measure about 28mm on my current wheels with 20.5mm internal width.

Has anyone tried GP5000 in 28 mm on these rims? How is the tire-rim interface? I always hear about the comfort (which I don't need probably), but I fear that they would bulge up on the 21mm internal rims and be even wider than the rim, "ruining" the aero benefits...

First of all you gotta chill with this aero effect. It's so little that we can clearly call it non existing. Gp5000 will measure around 30mm on this wheelsets and be perfectly fine. Remember that larger tire gives you better traction, it's not only comfort.

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
Without commenting on the YouTubers, I think the best-value frame that has evidence of aero testing in development is probably the Elilee Blize (~$1700 shipped USD including bar).

Wheels, probably Hunt’s aerodynamicist line or the Zipp 303S? I cant think of a Chinese offering that has been developed in that manner.

Bars, EXS?

Elilee looks as aerodynamic as cow on ice. It looks like V4RS, Trek Emonda and other lightweight race bikes, but aero it's not. You're billion times better off with Winspace T1500, even if it costs bit more

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets My 500k update on er9. I’m pleased with it. It works very well. No issues, despite a few rides in really grim weather conditions. I’ve also washed the bike quite a few times now. No problems.

I’m interested to know if someone here can compare it with other electronic groupsets. I’ve only ever ridden the last generation 11sp Ultegra Di2. But that’s quite a while ago. I wish the shifting was a bit quicker with er9, particularly when going to bigger cogs/easier gears on the cassette. The time it takes from clicking to the chain making it to the next cog sometimes feels rather slow. Especially compared to the mechanical groupsets I got on my other bikes. Also: More feedback from the shift buttons would be nice.

Other than that, no complaints.

WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) https://youtu.be/x0L9USE7mco?si=7JPnX7sPmMfElagw

pricing looks good (3999 rmb for carbon hydraulic disc), available in both disc/rim, and carbon / alu

Re: Yishun R1088-D Aero Road I just got the frame delivered. Here are few pictures. I wonder if the cable hole in the fork(last picture) is normal this way or if I should contact Yishun about it. It isn’t smooth at all but I’m unsure if that’s expected with Chinese brands.

Re: Recommendations for a carbon saddle? I've completely switched to 3D printed mesh saddles. I shift my saddle position based on either climbing or sprinting and the minimal friction from the mesh design helps. Also living in year-round riding weather, the saddles don't absorb heat staying cool even on the hottest of days.

I've been able to return items that have 15 day free returns. In the US, items get shipped back to a domestic warehouse. AliExpress then refunded my money once delivery was confirmed. For US customers, double check the return label though. The online system will say USPS, but the label will be UPS! I accidentally dropped my return to USPS. The item sat for 4 days, but luckily I was able to retrieve my package because my local PO was just holding it and I asked for my package back so I could drop it off at the UPS Store.

Re: Eddie's Airwolf YFR066 Build Thread With your current installation, you have no headset compression. I'm not an expert but I would avoid forcing the handlebars until you have compressed the headset with the expander that goes under the stem.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
The mechanical ones work fine, at least the RX12. But yeah, really disappointing how much the electronic ones fail

I'm really hoping Wheeltop or a future Sensah electronic groupset offer reliable competition. As far as I'm concerned LTwoo has dropped the ball for being an alternative electronic groupset.

I don't really mind it, but have a slight preference toward the shimano styled shifters. Sensah style is not perfect either with that super long not-so-precise push for going up 1 or 2 times ;) .

Same here I also prefer Shimano style shifting, but I've grown rather fond of Sensah shifting. The brake levers can be adjusted to be placed closer to the bars, allowing for an easier shifting throw. Also I feel Sensah shifts a bit smoother in the lower gears compared to Shimano. I would get the Sensah HRD shfiters, but I have a couple of hydro Ultegra shifters laying around I've been too lazy to install!  ;D

Re: Elitewheels Drive 50D --> Rim Failure Yikes. Glad you didn’t take a fall. I’m curious how Elitewheels will go about handling this. I’m no carbon expert, but looks like delamination to me. Worth it to start the warranty claim process. Nothing is fast when dealing with Chinese vendors, even the good ones.

Did you get these on Ali or directly from Elitewheels?
