Re: Chinese cycling clothes
Would you mind sharing the links ?
I tried 3 Spexcel ones, but I'm overcooking in them.

The only great winter(when no rain) jacket I did buy were called Runchita, and I'm still using them as from 2019
They are unfortunately not available anymore.
These are not the same, but I didn't try as they don't have the S size:  https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ey8xBmR

Re: Chinese cycling clothes I bought these for winter / rainy rides but they are crap... Sweat stays in so you are drenched after a while... Really uncomfortable...

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
is it really waterproof? It seems it's hard to have a waterproof/resistant fabric AND breathable, it's found only on more expensive clothes
don't know if the spexcel jackets from kubackjeee are better, would be good to know

I always have issues with that, with these kinds of winter clothing.
I sweat too much, and I need breathable fabrics otherwise I'll be drenched in no time. What I end up doing is layering up, and always leaving some opening on the zipper to try to cool down, but after awhile in the ride I tend to open a lot the zipper to cool down, and when it starts to get cold then I close again
annoying, but it's what works. Always wondered if a more expensive jacket would give me the breathability, but at least here it's just too much money, so I prefer to be annoyed  ;D

I don't even count that it will be waterproof and good breathable at the same time. For this you need a top class membrane. And the best I could are polish brand jmp sport - https://sklep.jmpsport.pl/sporty/246-2618-x2-kurtka-rowerowa-meska-40000-jmp-2415820012108.html#/4-rozmiar-xl/30-kolor-ciemny_niebieski - this is the only rain jacket that does not make me wet under. But since I do not like to ride in the rain that much I need those spexcels for colder days and they do the job perfectly. The winter one I am sure will be good on a little rain

Winspace SLC 2.0 Hi y'all,

I recently bought a Winspace SLC 2.0 frameset and had quite the adventure building it up.
I've always passively wanted one, specifically in the Kanazawa color, but for the price this lightly used Superlight Black frame was close enough. The steerer was cut too short and I hated the color, but whatever. I'll do something with it someday, maybe I'd lose some weight and magically become more flexible?  ;D ;D  So it arrived and just sat for a while until I found a new, uncut SLC fork on Ebay. So with a new fork and way too much confidence, I started sanding and sketching out some fresh paint jobs!
The paint process took way too long. I had this idea in my head of a purple/gold galaxy looking alcohol ink pattern on a black background, how hard can it be? It's biggest pain in the ass and took up way too much time, 10/10 do not recommend. I dig the result, though. The base color is candy black over raw carbon. Most of the black half has the coolest dark raw carbon effect that you can see in direct sunlight, but some sections got too much black. A two stage white pearl and logos in Ford champagne gold to finish. Overall, I'm happy with paint but it was much too ambitious and the end result is far from perfect. Many mistakes were made and there's a few issues that I just didn't have the patience to fix anymore. They're hard to spot, but I know they're there and they'll always bug me.  >:(

The actual build process was fairly quick and painless, even with fully internal routing. AXS builds are very straightforward and tbh I can't see myself using another groupset on my bikes right now. A lot of parts carried over from my 177.
Frame: Size 490
Wheels Farsports Kaze 45mm
Tires: Panaracer Agilest 28mm and Ridenow tubes
Seatpost: Elita One 63D, but looking at maybe getting one of those VFV or Ryet posts with the hole in it.
Saddle: Ryet 3D printed saddle
Handlebar: Fire Spider FS160
Stem: S Works SL 100mm
Bar tape: Silca Nastro. It's alright.
Bottle cages: Supacaz Fly Ano. Very light and good looking, but don't feel very secure
Groupset: SRAM AXS mix - Rival shifters, Force crankset, Force cassette 10-33, Red chain, Red FD, Force RD w/ JRC pulleys, CLX-R rotors
Crankset: Force AXS GXP 167.5mm - Wheels BB, XCadey spider power meter, and Stone 48/33 chainrings. Rotor 48/35 Q rings are sitting in the closet, I'll be installing those soon.

My verdict so far? This bike is sick. It's a classic aesthetic but make no mistake, this is a race bike. The ride is not very forgiving nor is the geometry. It's a super stiff frame and I can feel every imperfection in the road, on longer rides it kinda has me wishing for my 177. I see now what people mean when they say a bike "just wants to take off" or "holds its speed well". In reality, am I any faster or are either of those statements actually true? Strava and my legs both say I'm as slow as ever, but I sure feel fast af.  ;D

Anyone else have an SLC 2.0 build to share??

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I purchased this one almost 2 years ago.  It is a smart trainer and has served me well for the past 2 winters.

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset hehe - and that's exactly what I wrote pro actively to elitewheels :D

That their complete solution proposal would be much more expensive than my regulation proposal, and that I don't understand that :D
A transport route alone costs more than the 15 dollars proposed in advance.

---------------------

/// after i did not agree with the proposal

"Hi Tobias
Thank you very much for your message.
About $15, this is the biggest compensation we can get for you, because our company doesn't actually make much money. The cost of carbon fiber wheels is very high, especially this kind of wheel with special specifications.

Regarding the parcel, we can use a very strong packaging, but our cost will be very high, which even affects the price of the product. Customers need to buy wheels at a higher price and pay for shipping.

Usually the transportation of printed matter is different from the transportation of wheels. The products are different, and the internal state during transportation is also different, resulting in different final results, but thank you very much for your suggestion, We remind the company to pay attention to the packaging and improve it to solve such a situation.

Considering safety and cost, Our current packaging is the most reasonable, but there is still room for improvement. Thanks for your advice.

If you can accept the wheel, in addition to the compensation of 15 US dollars, We also applied for a special gift compensation for you (for example: valve, please check picture). We still have a three-year warranty. , and we will deal with any problems for you for free. And we have many repair centers in Europe that can help customers solve problems.

We look forward to your good review,  if need anything, you can contact us again at any time
looking forward your reply
best wishes

/// After i open the dispute

hi Tobias
We have received your dispute ,
may i know if you can cancel it? If you don't agree with our solution, you can send front wheel to our repair center in Italy or Spain, and we can replace the font hub for you. We can bear the shipping cost.
all right ?
looking forward your reply
sukie"

Hello Sukie,

This proposed solution is obejectively much better than the previous one with the 15 dollars. Thank you very much for your cooperation. It's a pity that it only came about after I had to take the official route.

However, it is not satisfactory for me personally, as it would mean that I would be without a front wheel for several weeks and my bike could therefore not be used. However, I have planned this bike for upcoming racing events and I am not prepared to have it repaired for several weeks.

My suggestion would be a new front wheel including shipping label, and I send the damaged wheel back to you as soon as I receive the new one? This way I would have no disadvantage except the time needed for the rebuild, which is annoying enough.

I also wonder what the cost advantage is? The shipping alone for a track is already more expensive than the previously offered 15 dollars. Add to that the labour costs, including labour, the new hub/material, and the return shipping.

Have a great day,
Tobi

Dear Tobias
Thanks for your message
In fact, the first compensation plan is according to the company's regulations,
which is a normal process, because first of all, we have to consider solving the problem for customers quickly.
Maybe some customers are not satisfied, but you can tell us.

Because if the customer does not accept it, we will provide a second plan. We are not because of your dispute. All plans need to be discussed with the customer and the company before the final plan can be determined.

We can agree with your final plan, but we have some situation to let you know, because starting tomorrow, our National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival will start until October 6th next month, so if you can wait, we can produce new wheels for you, and then you can send the old wheels to our repair center.  (note : if you agree ,please cancel the dispute first )

all right ??
looking forward your  reply

Hi Sukie,

It's only the front wheel.
So I can continue to use it and you send me a new front wheel with a return label for the damaged one, which I then send to you after receiving it?

If it is possible that you then also deposit this solution in the dispute and I receive an "order confirmation" so that it is legally binding, I am satisfied.
Unfortunately, I can't end the dispute this way without having something in my hand except a loose promise in the chat.
I hope you understand.

However, the simplest, cheapest and safest solution for all parties would be to simply accept my proposal for the settlement of the claim ($85)?

Thank you for your efforts,
Greetings Tobi

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset Elitewheels has now taken my suggestion of the $85.

However, the process was strange: I was called twice by a number from England (I didn't answer) and then a manager contacted me via whatsapp to ask me to please close the dispute and he would then send me the requested money via paypal to resolve the matter.
I replied that he should transfer the money to me first so that I am sure not to be ghosted.

He agreed and explained that resolving disputes via aliexpress reflects badly on the company and that's why they try to resolve it outside.
Apparently there's then trouble from aliexpress...

The communication was very nice and courteous.

I am satisfied - he transferred the money directly and I can ultimately recommend elitewheels.
you just have to be persistent ;-) but that's not only the case with providers on aliexpress - but also in other life situations.
Of course, they first try to keep the damage as small as possible, which is not reprehensible.

Re: ODIN ZEUS one piece carbon stem It's a darimo copy of IX2 stem, design, claimed weight are the sames.

With darimo products if it's not broken by overtighening at 3,1 n.m (when you know it only slips if not at 4 n.m ::)) during installation the question is when will it break. And quality is really handmade...

Would you trust a copy (of a garbage to my opinion) which is 3x less expensive?

Re: ODIN ZEUS one piece carbon stem For the price, it ain't worth it. An UNO ultra light stem with titanium bolts is sub 100g, rock solid and cost less than $20 USD. You can cut those extra grams running a lightweight bare carbon saddle if you want to make up the 15-20g difference.
