Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy Thread! But I'm not one of those guys that are trying to make it look like a Hightower. There are people on here buying decals for their frames to make it look like they have whatever brand's top model. That's not me. It doesn't bother me if you want to do that. If you do, go for it. Whatever. But I'd rather not go that route.

I chose orange because it's my favorite color. So I'm not disappointed at all, just wish Santa Cruz chose a different color. Whatever I guess.

Re: Chinese Carbon 29er Pic Thread. Thank you. The fork already had the yellow color. It's from a Scott Spark. The decals are from ETSY pretty mint quality I must say.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame I still promised to share some specs of my build, so hereby :).

Frameset: Velobuild VB-R-168 (O RLY?  ;D), Size 56
Wheelset: Farsports Kaze 35, 23mm (ext) width, DT Swiss 350, Sapim CX ray with brass nipples
Tires: Schwalbe Pro One EVO TLE (set-up tubelss with Schwalbe valves and Orange Seal endurance)
Bar: Two bolt Velobuild bar 420/100
Bottle cages: Tacx Ciro (Matt black)
Seat: Specialized power expert 155mm
BB: Shimano Dura Ace BB92
Crankset: Rotor ALDHU24
Chainrings: Rotor Q Rings Sram AXS, 48/35
Groupset: SRAM Force eTap AXS 2x12, 160mm discs, 10-28 cassette

I love the ride so far, the bike feels really fast and gives a great sense of control.

I do have one issue, even though I have tightened the seatpost to 7nm it somehow is making a sort of knocking sound if I stand up and sit down. It seems like the post has too much room to move in the seat tube... Anybody else experencing this?

Re: Airwolf / YFM026 boost / santa cruz highball took me forever but I finally had some time to build it up.

I built a big Privateer 161 for bike parks last year and ended up liking is so much I pretty much stopped riding my 30 pound "normal" 140mm travel Intense Primer except on real mellow XC single track.    The Intense was built as a light weight trail ride so all the parts made sense on the Airwolf, in XL the air wolf is right around 23.5 pounds with a solid build and meaty tires.

only done about 50 miles but so far its exactly what I wanted, eats up climbs and normal single track... Not sure I would push it especially on a rigid fork so anything really steep and rocky I will be bringing the 161 :)

Disk Brake Centerlock Lock Rings Do these typically come with wheels, with brakes, or need to be purchased separately?

In my case, the wheel vendor would be Farsports (with a Bitex 312 hubs and an XDR freehub), and the brake set would be SRAM Force.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Hello, I've been following along on this forum for quite a while to pick up all kinds of tips and experiences (thanks to all of you)... then decided to make my first bike build ever.
After a long time of collecting parts, I finished my build last week and in the meantime made a first ride (in the flatlands of flanders  :D )...
It's no comparison to my 11 year old 26" Rockrider hardtail  ;D

It is a size M frame (N not SL), Elite wheels, Sram GX groupset and Marzocchi fork (was the only fork available and within my budget).
Maybe not easy to see in the picture but the colors are candy red and silver metallic.
