Re: Groupset News I really hope LTwoo sticks to Campy-style shifting. I never liked Di2 because the shift buttons are way to close together.

Re: Groupset News Taiwan's TRP (/ Tektro) releases new EVO 7sp DH and 12sp MTB groupsets.

Looks really well designed.  If I wanted mechanical MTB 12sp, I'd give it a try over Shimano.

SRAM's new stuff looks batshit, frankly, and the pricing on XX SL is certainly going to be batshit crazy ... they've increased PM crankset pricing by 50%.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
can someone clarify which is the biggest gear range ERX can take? And does it work with any crankset/K7 combo?

RD. LTWOO on their YT channel clearly said it's max 32T at the back, but some claim it can do 34T. I plan to test a range extender on the ER9, I'll report in a few months.
FD. The FD has a capacity of 16T as per their own marketing materials. "Max gear range 56T", whatever that means.

I think it can work with any crankset k7 combo, largely because they dont make their own so it's got to.

Re: Groupset News
Just spotted Sensah Empire HRD 11 speed for sale on Aliexpress. Price is $249 for shifters, disc brake calipers, and derailleurs. Looks promising!

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805841249421.html

Thanks for that - I've done a little groupset comparison for anyone interested in the current state of the market for hydraulic groupsets. I have used official store prices for Ltwoo and Sensah. All items are shifters, brakes and derailleurs unless indicated otherwise. All prices include postage where relevant (to Australia - not sure how it differs for other markets).

Re: Groupset News
Do you  work for LTwoo Fabio?
No, I only know the staff of L-twoo, so I have the opportunity to see news and pictures of engineering prototypes. Also L-twoo doesn't mind the leak of such pictures. Just like StiffWeenies who posted earlier, we are all ordinary bicycle enthusiasts. The only difference is that we are Chinese, so we can access this kind of news earlier.

Re: Groupset News
Perhaps ltwoo should focus on getting erx/er9 right before releasing other products. Maybe this is just the difference between our German and the Chinese mindset. It seems like Chinese products are in a perpetual alpha phase of product development with so many amateur issues cropping up. So far I'm seeing a lot of er9/erx issues that should be weeded out very much prior to any sort of release is even contemplated. Don't they have any pride?

That would increase their cost thus price to consumers. China factories aren't magic where they can build the same quality and reliability at half the cost. They are consciously making this decision to fill in a gap in the market for value buyers.

Re: Mechanical flat mount brakes
Just get some second hand Shimano hydraulic brakes and save yourself from a lot of headaches... I wish I had instead of trying to make those hybrid callipers to work... In the end I bought GRX and it is night and day difference.

You can find Ultegra 11 speed pretty cheap these days since a lot of people are upgrading to 12 speed

My Juin Tech F1s with fin pads have actually been really good. Even though I have Ultegra hydraulic shifters ready for install, I haven't been in a rush to swap them out.

Saying that, with the prices dropping if buying new there really isn't any reason not to go hydraulic now either with Shimano/SRAM and especially with Sensah's new HRD (I'll take those any day over LTwoo).

Re: Mechanical flat mount brakes
Thanks for all the feedback! It's interesting how there's such a range of opinions on the cable/hydraulic brakes.

Anyways, I found a cheap used pair of Tektro MD-C550 calipers (OEM version of the TRP Spyre) on eBay so I'm going to give those a shot. I will make sure to get good compressionless housing. I figure they will be adequate for my short commute.

I use trp spyre c with semi metalic pads for over 4 years now. I am a big strong dude and use this bike in all kind of gravel and singletracks. From flat rides, fast races, to ultra and mountian 200+ km events. When properly adjusted and jagwire compressionless housings those brakes never let me down.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Yeah, I don't get the 2x10 either.. That's ancient for most people...

It looks great though... Now make it 2x11 and hydraulic  :D

This 2x10 is really good with the cassette 11-38. If you look at the gear spacing they've done a good job. On the other hand 1x10 makes no sense to me because I hate the  3 teeth jump from 15 to 18. But most of the 1x11 aftermarket 11-46 cassettes also have this stupid spacing. I think 2 x 10 sword is a great groupset for bike backing and recreational riders. And with the 48/11 and 11-38 even I as a racer would choose this over grx 2x11. Becuse the top end speeds are the same but with microshift you get better climbing gears.
