Re: 2024 11.11 / Black Friday sale planning
Interesting coupons duch as 70 off 500 didn’t work for me either… managed to get 4$ off 40$ (CAD) in the middle of the day for a couple of cheap things I was about to buy anyway, other coupons were apparently on a first served first come basis. With yuanan just contact directly through WhatsApp, a lot faster. They know their website is not great and are planning to redo it. Their rep (or owner) post here, just search yuanan you will find her November 02, 2024, 07:29:23 AM |

Found a frame on the Qilefu store that's painted in gloss black. Will build it up as my spare bike. But I don't really need another frame.. lol problem ![]() November 04, 2024, 02:42:59 AM |

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress?
This Lightpro chain ring has been on my commuter for about three years now. It's seen two replacement chains and shows no sign of wear so far. Solid. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004716519553.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2vnm November 13, 2024, 02:44:04 AM |

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress?
I buy constantly from Aliexpress. I have actually have had good look with direct mount cranksets. I have not purchased those that are extremely light that have broken (Shimano has had theirs break too). What I like is being able to get shorter cranks without spending an arm and a leg. My latest is a 160mm for my sister's bike from Cruz bike. I am not sure how that will be but it seems quite ordinary. I recommend them often for those who wish to try shorter cranks to see if they work out for them instead of laying out bigger dollars for Shimano. I love their bike computers. I pay what I need to and previously had been using Garmins but I have had great luck with Igsports computers. They work the same as Garmin from what I can see. The TPU tubes are my favorite buys. I buy extras for friends as they are a very cheap performance item and they pack so small. The Continental Gransports are my go to tires now. They ride like Grand Prixs but are much cheaper. I am not racing now, so the tiny perfromance beneift is not worth it to me. I use the better lines of their handlebar tape. It has been excellent. I even bought Fizik from them (I know it is genuine) Pick up some of the mini hex key wrenches. They are as good as the Specialized but for a fraction of the cost The bike clothing is OK as long as you buy the somewhat more expensive items. I have lots of Castelli and Pearlizumi which I like better, but for winter when I do not ride more than once a week, I love the tights as they are warm. The fit is OK, They work I have purchased the aluminum and steel cassettes which I like when I am not doing a lot of climbing. If used for mostly flat rides they are a great deal. I am a lap swimmer too, so I find swimming briefs and boxers have been nearly as good as Speedo or TYR. I love reading posts on here. I hope my post is useful for others November 17, 2024, 03:41:48 PM |

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I received my Kocevlo stem with integrated cabling. I opted for the package with spare headset bearings. For a stem, it's heavy coming in at about 200+ grams without the headset spacers. The screws are like 3g a piece, so I swapped those out for some titanium screws, but the whole thing is still hefty. Tthe positive is the ability to change out the bars and adjust the angle. I'm still waiting on the frame that I'm going to use these on! https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807371085152.html November 26, 2024, 11:31:32 AM |

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
I have enough now to add my two cents. Fall/Winter https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807544127583.html These are awesome. I have worn these down to low 40F and they do great! Better at wind blocking than my CLD RDY Adidas bibs I have. Read the size chart because these are asian fit. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806703610824.html This vest is SWEET. I have a couple of RION newer design jerseys and I love them. This vest is excellent at blocking wind I wish they made a jacket with the same design. Spring/Summer https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806471876018.html I hate full-zip clothing and was delighted to find these. They are my favorite jersey to date. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805157092372.html Favorite bibs I have from Ali. fit is true to size and they have been great for long rides. Accessories https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807269951442.html These have been quite good socks, I just keep buying the colors they add. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805983618808.html My first pair of actual SPD-SL road shoes. Absolutely love these things and the carbon sole is great. November 27, 2024, 01:48:01 PM |

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I've been using this for a few months. SO USEFUL to have this around the garage. The magnet and little hanger hook are great. I haven't tried to see how long the light will last on a charge because I usually only need it for 5-10min for a project, but this has been one of those purchases that I can't believe I didn't make years sooner. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806094161820.html January 06, 2025, 11:22:40 PM |

Re: Road cycling shoes?
I've ridden the red/white sidebike shoes in the past (about 5 years ago) https://aliexpi.com/D8Eb They were quiet comfortable, but not in comparison with S-PHYRE or S-works in terms of stiffness. Looking at the newer models, I see they have the same stiffness index of 14, but I would guess they improved in the meantime? In any case, they had a good fit and where not to narrow as I would have expected from asian shoes. The question remains if you want to take the gamble investing 100ish USD/EUR in shoes that might not fit you well. January 11, 2025, 04:46:09 AM |

Re: New handlebar with integrated gps + light mount.
Better to have the computer in front of the bar than on top of it. YMMV, but to me they are ugly. No interest. January 19, 2025, 11:05:56 PM |
