Re: take chance on $15 NECO
I have had probably 6 or 7 NECO headsets over the years. One time I developed some creaking and clicking, and when I pulled the fork, the lower bearing had come apart. Come to find out the bearing only had about half the balls it was supposed to have. But this was an isolated incident. All the other neco headsets Ive had have been flawless.

Re: Before the ride...
Most of my rides are short lunchtime rides from my house, so I need to be able to go quickly. I have road and mountain supplies in my Camelbak so I don't have to move anything around based on what I'm going to ride. My riding time is limited, but it's easier to find 15 to 30 min in the evening for maintenance, so I make sure everything is ready to go ahead of time.

Re: Any good bar tape out there?
I'm a big fan of Serfas cork bar tape. It's a really cushy/stretchy material that's easy to contour on drop bars especially around the shifters. Also if you do any adjustments or swap bars out, the adhesive doesn't really tear or leave marks on the bar tape, so it's easy to re-apply. I usually stick with marble brown, it tends to stay looking clean. https://www.serfas.com/shop/products/bar-tape/cork/bt-synthetic-cork-tape/ April 17, 2024, 09:33:45 AM |

Re: cycplus vs rockbros little electric pump things
i have the cyclami gen1 (without psi indicator) on discount. It gets the job done. When im stranded n wanna move on, i dont really care about the noise it makes. Still faster n almost no energy effort vs my olde mini hand pump that as it reached ~55psi it takes forever to pump the psi further more even with all my anger pump energy August 24, 2024, 10:42:41 PM |

Thinkrider X2
In the market for a trainer as winter is coming and saw these cheap on Aliexpress... Anyone have any experience with these? I've used Kickrs in the past. How do these compare? Thanks! https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806788647607.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.6b4bU3JSU3JSqb&algo_pvid=e08ae19d-2b62-4ddb-ae82-19b885084f8c&algo_exp_id=e08ae19d-2b62-4ddb-ae82-19b885084f8c-0&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21USD%21643.78%21235.45%21%21%214480.00%211638.48%21%402101c5a417274439758083317e881d%2112000039443364436%21sea%21US%21761118510%21X&curPageLogUid=VyBFUp2GvpI2&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A September 27, 2024, 09:42:23 AM |

Re: Ryet Saddle (3D Printed and Traditional) Durability (Gravel, XC, CX)
I've been using one of the ryet carbon railed 3d mesh seats for a while. It works fine and doesn't bother me at all. 30 bucks vs 300 is hard to argue with.

Re: Magene P505 PES Base Spider Powermeter
Price went down to 264€, today it's at 275€, while usually sitting around 300€... Bit surprising prior to 11.11., I'm hoping for a good deal

Re: Magene P505 PES Base Spider Powermeter
Magene are now supplying with a new pre-load bolt that assumably fixes the issue. I saw this in their new instructions video. I have the old pre-load bolt type, and it came loose multiple times. After applying threadlocker there's been zero issue ![]() I'd say go for it, can't beat it for the money. October 31, 2024, 05:01:59 PM |

Re: Magene P505 PES Base Spider Powermeter
I received the new bolt and replaced the shimano preload bolt I was using as a placeholder. The new bolt is longer and much more robust than the shimano preload bolt. Can't really remember the fine details of the original bolt, but the new one has not come loose at all. Overall, its a great purchase. If there's a price drop for 11.11, then its a no brainer. Go for it! October 31, 2024, 05:40:15 PM |
