Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Fram! Hi there,

I have finished my build. This is my second china frame after a Carbonda CFR696 whoch I build up in 2021 (my project againt COVID depression). Since i am us9ng it mostly on paved roads I wanted something more „racy“. Intried some bikes at the local bike stores and found out that the perfect bike for me is a Tarmac SL8. But, with all the features I would like to have they charge a whopping 9k€  Germany.

Today I did a quick technical testride. My observations:

- while building up I had a problem to install the front calipers. The 15mm screws were to long (at least I could not get them into place). I endee up using shorter screws and I hope tha works
- Riding experience is very fine so far. Much better accelerating than my gravel bike, like I espected. Although a sporty geometry the bike feels very comfortable. I do not know if this is due to a lack of stiffness and the frame is just flexing. But, so farbit feels nice. Keeping the speed above 30 kph ismuch easier than on the gravel hike (with the same wheels and tires).

- last point, and this is a real problem: the bolt pf the seatpost clamp kept loosening again and again and the seatpost went down. I did not have a torque wrench with me and therefore I was scared to tighten it too much. At the end of the ride I went all the way down and the seat post was stuck in the seat tube. It took some effort to get it out again. Do you have an idea whatbI could do to tighten the seatpost clampmso that it will never come loose again? Any advice is highly appreciated!

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame My mechanical shifting setup is complete. The front derailleur cable was a bit problematic because it doesn't have a guide. I secured the outer cable housing to the seat tube with a cable tie to stabilize it. I'll do a test ride as soon as it's dry outside. I'll add more handlebar tape and weigh the bike.

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame So after all the help from this forum I ordered my frame on 5th march in chameleon green and it arrived on 10th April

I’m building it up with Ultegra Di2 - these are go zone 30mm rims for when it’s wet and windy and I’ve a set of carbon speed D60CU-31 T1100 wheels on the way

Will keep you updated on the build and a complete breakdown when I’m finished

Very impressed so far and the paint job looks amazing

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame Hi guys!
The frame just arrived after 20 days of shipment. It looks immaculate on the exterior, just a little polish needed to remove some minor scratches.
My build will be the following:

  • Frame: R088
  • Groupset: Shimano 105 Di2 12-speed R7100
  • Wheels: Elitewheels Edge 50
  • Handlebar: Standard Uno alloy (will switch to a one-piece carbon handlebar after the bike fitting)
  • Saddle: Ryet carbon saddle
  • Pedal: Keo Blade carbon

I’ll keep you guys updated once I start the build! :)

In the meantime, if you have any tips, advice, or suggestions, feel free to share, I'd really appreciate it!

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame Little build update, last step will be hydraulic cable, cut the fork and the bb (waiting for the correct tools)
No issue rn, just still in doubt to how to place the battery with the batteri in the frame I can place the seat post like 600mm into the frame it’s enough?

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame UPDATE:

They will send me a new frame, Kudos to the customer service, they are quick to respond and very kind.

I only have to wait another month before I can continue building but that's okay

Re: Spcycle New Mold SP-R088 Carbon Road Frame I rode my R088 the other night on a group ride. The week before I was badly dropped by a goated climber, so I wasn't in the mood to wait for the pack. I probably gapped the other cyclists by about 10-15 minutes to reach the climb checkpoint and then bombed the downhill taking the corners fast while accelerating on the straightaways. Even though my R088 is setup as a climber, overall stability is great. It's a great bang-for-buck frameset, with standardized components and easy to maintain. I seriously have no complaints about this bike.  ;)
