Re: Airwolf: What is this model inspired from? [Trek Madone] As a buddy told me:

"Why would they risk a huge contract (from Trek) for knocking out a few frames with $200 profit per frame?"

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023 Dear oh dear! Poor thing, so much hate on you Falath EVO.
Such a beauty and also a big crap at the same time, depending on which community's opinion you subscribe to... lol

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
Anyone know what sort of max tire width is? Spec says 28mm, wondering if it is a bit larger as typical.

My 28's measure 30,5mm. There is space to go one size up in the rear, but in the front it's almost maxed out.

There are some comments in this youtube video comments section about tire size. 32mm (real size) seems to be the absolute max for front.
So if you've got wide rims, 28 front (tire size, not measured) and 30mm back might be the safe bet.

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame 32 front and back is possible with conti GP 5000. Front has very litte clearance. i am now running 28 front and 30 rear, what looks better in my opinion.

for the frame holes with di2 i was searching quite a bit and used the following:
https://r2-bike.com/SRAM-Rahmenstopfen-Frame-Plug-63-mm-65-mm-1-Stueck

modified with hole for cable, they fit perfekt front and rear.

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023 I consider myself now as an expert in DT Swiss hub design  ;D  :P

The ELVES front hub is basically a copy of the DT Swiss 350 road straightpull and the back hub a DT Swiss 240.

On my front hub copy the bearings were not properly pressed in, therefore they had too much clearance or in other words the preload on the bearings was too low. So I pressed them in and since then they are rock solid and smooth.

And I cranked up the axle torque to 12Nm.

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
That's a sharp looking frame! I saw one Japanese YT'er using his Falath EVO for cyclocross making full use of the wider tire clearance!

Regarding the front fork TA mount being a bit loose, one of my carbon frames also had a similar issue, but on the rear TA. I thought my frame was out of spec, but the vendor recommended I just torque it down until there was no more play. Eventually it settled into place after awhile and didn't require being tightened down as much. Did the frame ship with plastic thru axle holders in place? If so, it might have stretched the fork out of spec slightly.

Tire clearance on this frame is huge, even a 32 looks small  ;D
No the fork is fine and the play in the bearings is gone as I mentioned. I think it was just poorly assembled or lack of quality control.

Re: Ti Frames? http://chinertown.com/index.php/board,23.0.html

Edit: I realize it’s more mtb specific but I think a lot of what is discussed there can be applied to the road discussion as well

Re: Ti Frames? Are you talking premade frames or custom designs? There is nearly no information out there on premades like those from Hi-Light.

There is a lot of information in the other forum on the latter and it doesnt really matter MTB or Road for custom designs. There are a ton of factories to work with for those. The two most popular are probably Waltly and XACD / XATW. The first is more consumer friendly with less options, the second is more B2B focused and has more options. Both have OEM customers, XACD / XATW seem to serve a higher price point and IMO their welds are aesthetically nicer and their machining near perfect, but they also cost more.

Re: Ti Frames? I have my waltly frame somewhere in Europe already (I think, XDB/DPD tracking is a little confusing). But not within your 1000 USD budget, rather 1500 USD.
