Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I bit the bullet and ordered this power bank/light for longer rides to charge my phone. I was given an additional discount reducing the price to $13 USD, though regular price is $19 USD. I figure I could place it on my phone mount which also uses a Garmin mount interface and I can charge it while riding. I just received this Cyclami/Rock Bros power bank+bike light. It weighs just under 125g, has a slim profile and both the female and male interface garmin mounts are replaceable. The light itself is decently bright, but don't expect great illumination in pitch black conditions. At best the light will be good enough in city conditions for visiblity. Also it comes with both USB-C and lighting charging connectors built-in, though I feel the cord it a bit fragile, so I might go look for a short cable with both USB-C "male" connectors to charge my phone instead. As intended, I plan to use it for it's power bank feature to charge my phone on longer road rides or when I'm on remote gravel bike rides. I only wish it had a bit more power than 5000mah. I can see a market for a bigger unit at the expense of more weight. Overall I think it's a handy device for the price! January 09, 2024, 09:42:02 AM |

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Any recs for rear pannier rack and fenders? Something full-coverage like SKS Longboards. I spent a few hours searching AliEx for racks and fenders a few months ago and concluded that there was not a significant savings over purchasing a name brand from Amazon or a bike-specific vendor. Also, most of the racks and fenders seem aimed at Brompton owners. The only notable deals I could find were on custom-made titanium racks. They aren't cheap ($100+) but they are competitive when priced against the same thing made by Tubus or similar. August 20, 2024, 10:02:48 AM |

Re: Anyone Tried Elita One Master Post?
Well it worked, the noise it made was really really loud! I was convinced I broke it. I need to take it appart to make sure there was no damages. I also need to look if I can put the lock bolt facing down so it can be accessed with the hex key from the top, through the saddle opening/cut-out rather than having to remove the saddle bag. I may not always be able to hammer fist it back in place April 28, 2025, 05:31:22 AM |

Re: Anyone Tried Elita One Master Post?
On the MTB, hardtail, I perceived a good bit of extra comfort but placebo effect or not, hard to say

Re: Anyone Tried Elita One Master Post?
For those who bought it, any updates on the comfort on the seat post, does it do a great job dampen vibrations? I've been riding mine on the gravel bike for several weeks. At first I didn't think the design didn't do anything special, but I rode my other gravel bike with a standard Elita One seat post and it did feel a bit stiffer. So I think the design does slightly dampen road buzz. I've had no issues with the saddle clamp using a RYET Arcode saddle with the T40 mesh. At this point, if you can find one at a good price, I highly recommend it now. ![]() May 03, 2025, 10:32:17 AM |

Well it worked, the noise it made was really really loud! I was convinced I broke it. Took it apart, all looked fine. I have now the bolt facing down and accessible from the top for quick tightening/adjustement. I am still unsure if that seat post is really a good choice from MTB, maybe more of a gravel option. Re: Anyone Tried Elita One Master Post?
I could be missing a trick here, but I found it really frustrating to set a precise saddle tilt angle with this seat post. As I tightened the single bolt, the angle kept changing (the saddle tilted further to the back). So I ended up with a trial-and-error approach, where I loosened the bolt, tilted the saddle forward more than I wanted, tightened up the bolt, and checked what the final angle was. Took a number of attempts to get it to where I wanted. With the two-bolt design of the regular Elita One seat post (and from many other brands), I can just alternate between tightening the front and the rear bolt until I get the angle I want. I know this is not following the instructions from Elita One, but it worked for me with their regular seat posts. May 08, 2025, 07:44:46 AM |

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
PSA for most europeans: LIDL sells the same 2-24nm torque wrench you see on aliexpress for half the price under their brand crivit. Typically 22ish euros on ali, picked one up for 13 locally. Tested against my BBB torque wrench with shit bits, they measure the same. Also better customer support I suppose. I think that's insane value.
