Re: Ace Sprint carbon wheels on Aliexpress
I have a pair of wheels and a disc rear ordered. They are very responsive!! One of the best. Ended up doing some customizations with decals and mismatch rims. Haven't shipped yet but I'm looking forward to getting them. Seems like you can pretty much built them how you want and they'll accommodate. I can keep this post updated if people want. I ordered their carbon spoke x weave 19 IW wheels with rim brakes and star ratchet hubs. 60F 75R. I asked for custom logos (I've ordered rims and hubs from a number of suppliers on Ali and elsewhere.... And built them for my bikes, family, and friends). I also ordered a Disc Rear wheel with the same rim width. Total price was around $1450 for all three. Custom logo placement added about $100. Attached are renderings of the logos on the wheels. I'm definitely curious on these. If they check out good, I'd say it's been a good experience. I had a ton of questions and they answered everything in a timely fashion. If the product is good, I'd endorse them. Still waiting to find out though. January 25, 2024, 09:58:16 PM |

Winspace T1550 Build (NEW 1550 2.0 thoughts)
Not many people post photos of their completed bikes on here, but I always enjoy the posts. So I wanted to post my recently completed build on here, and share how much I spent. A lot of builds on here are really balling on a budget but I really purchased from mainstream vendors for less sketchiness, build came out to $3,288 assembled by my LBS Mechanics first "Chinese" build at the bike shop, he was very impressed with the quality and noted that the internal cable routing gave him no problems. All of the workers at the bike shop where really interested in the build and none had ever heard of Winspace. This really shows how obscure this forum is, we are so far away from mainstream. He did ride it and was super impressed with it, I told them how my goal was to create an entry level roadbike, but have carbon wheels at the same price point. 8.1 kgs with everything, 17.85 lbs Frame: Winspace T1550 ($1230 Black Friday) Wheels: Winspace 2023 Hypers D45 ($1049 Black Friday) Bar: Winspace Zero SL 380 W 105 L ($171 Black Friday) Groupset: Shimano 105 R7120 Disc ($688 Merlincycles) Tires: Conti GP 5000 ($130) Tubes: Ride Now TPU 36g ($25) Seat: Specialized Power Comp (Free: Old Bike) Pedals: Shimano 105 SPD-SL (Free: Old Bikes) Shop Assembly- $240 February 07, 2024, 02:33:25 PM |

Re: Winspace T1550 Build
Just out of curiosity what country? Knoxville TN, United States. Most of the people who I have ran into riding here seem to be older. Less exposure to the corners of internet February 07, 2024, 07:15:46 PM |

Re: Winspace T1550 Build
My previous bike was spec'd with Shimano Claris 8 speed, and let me tell you coming from that 12s seems excessive. I honestly think 10 speed is probably all you would ever need, so I would guide the forum to save money and buy the now "old" 11 speed groupsets at lower prices. The 11-34 cassette is absolutely ridiculous, and once it wears out I will be going down to a 11-30. Previous Claris cassette was 11-28, and I was able to make it up all the mountains here in east TN. What is nice with going from 8-12 is that the jumps between cogs are much smaller, which I never realized would be that big of a deal. I feel like the only time I would ever use the 34T is if I was bonking hard February 08, 2024, 07:52:09 AM |

Re: Onirii One
So it seems like Onirii mis-labeled all their barstems (despite telling me initially that it was only the 360x90 ones that were mislabeled) and the one they sent me originally was 400x120, even though it was labeled 400x110. The new one is indeed 360x100 even though it is labeled 360x90. which makes sense, I was expecting to feel too scrunched up but its actually not bad. When I try to measure the reach, it seems to be 75-80mm not 68. I don't have the best tools for measuring reach, but its definitely longer than they say. As far as the ride quality goes. Its feels good, I really like the 74mm bb drop, it makes the bike feel really planted in the descents. I busted out a 35 second long, low power sprint and took a local QOM on a punchy little rolling hill so it works for that. I haven't really done an all out 10s sprint on the bike but sprinting is not really what I was planning to use it for when I built it. I'm not 100% happy with the fit. I did a 4 hour endurance ride and my upper back, shoulders and neck were pretty sore at the end. Some of that is my fault, but also it's really hard to get the fit right when the sizes on Onirii's components are mislabeled. The rear wheel sits a tiny bit to the side between the chain stays which is not the best. I checked the dishing on my wheel and confirmed that the issue is not the dishing. Both rear wheels I stuck in there sat slightly to the side. The front wheel is solidly centered in the fork though. On a more positive note, the frame can indeed fit 32c tires. They list the max tire clearance as 30c but I stuck a wheelset in that had 32c tires just to check and they fit fine so that was nice to see. February 22, 2024, 12:32:08 PM |

Re: Magene QED 12spd groupset showcased in Shanghai
My source sent me this photo that Magene told him about the shifter disc + rim compatibility. But I honestly have no idea how it works. According to the Chinese conversation in the cyclisthub video, the hole on top is for mechanical brake cable. The hydraulic brake hose goes to the traditional location below. It's one single design that accepts both mechanical and hydraulic braking. Neat. May 06, 2024, 07:13:16 AM |

Re: How addictive is bike building?!
Wheelbuild has been phenomenal. 1320g for a set of 50/55mm deep/28mm wide wheels, steel spokes. I'm planning to make a dedicated post detailing the adventure soon, as well as some tips and tricks. Lots of time invested though.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
I don't know what to say, my ER9 is still working great.Your sample size is 1. Mine is 5. Beyond that and more importantly, a groupset is supposed to work, rather than break for no reason, so I am hoping that you're not the only user on the forum whose groupset is working! I keep posting about the issues with mine so that it's visible to others who can then decide where they spend their money. I expected it would be beta, but that's a farce of a product, not a beta. I mean the failure rate is 100pc, as the 5th group is not being ridden atm. If they were on point with warranty and support, I wouldn't necessarily mind too much, but they're not. Would be nice to have polls on the forum though, to know who's riding what. May 30, 2024, 03:54:29 PM |
