Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress?
The "Shahe" brand tools are really good. So far I ordered below 3 and their quality at those price is unbeatable. Inclinometer - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806182504073.html Digital Vernier caliper - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806152639519.html Micrometer - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832636432679.html They package goods rather well too. Each of these came in specifically made Styrofoam boxes and reasonably well written manuals. Next up, I think I will try their digital torque wrench. March 22, 2024, 11:17:30 AM |

Airwolf Madone
Hello all, I've recently completed an AliExpress build focused on a knockoff Madone Gen 7 frame from airwolf. Everything was bought from AliExpress and my rotos(Shimano CL800) and chain(Sram Rival 12 speed) are the only non-chinese parts. Just wanted to share with you guys some thoughts about the buildand, frame and Wheeltop groupset. The frame: It's very heavy, 1550g for the 58cm. Paint is good but fragile. There's a defect on the front near the logo. The mount hole for head unit on the handlebars isn't threaded for the first 2mm so I can't fit a screw in, unsure what I'm going to do about that. Couldn't center my brake calipers in the rear, had to add 1mm of electrical tape on the left side of the caliper similar to another user here who added nail polish. The build: Don't attempt unless you're willing to deal with small issues and you have all the tools necessary. The compression plug that came with the fork had some edges that were 2mm too wide. This had to be filed down to fit in the fork. Internal routing on this handlebar is an absolute nightmare even with the cable routing kit I got stuck and almost gave up. Rear caliper is angled slightly wrong after torquing, not centered on the wheel. Another user added nail polish to fix the paint discrepancy, I added some electrical tape. The groupset: Wheeltop eds TX, haven't ridden it much yet but bleeding this thing is very tedious. Takes multiple passes to get the last little bits of air out. The micro adjustment per cog on the cassette is nice. The shifter buttons have a very far travel before actuation. I've added some filler on the outer edges to prevent the buttons from resting so far out resulting in less travel. Full list of parts here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19EG7w-PL_o6xKSSonwYg_NhqtS9TUTIpZ4kgHLeZcio/edit?usp=drivesdk I got lazy and stopped weighing individual parts during the build but the whole thing weighs 18lbs with cages and sealant. With a quality frame it could be dropped to around 16.5 but I'm happy with the result. Here is an imgur album with the bike, haven't been able to add an image and make the list successfully. https://imgur.com/a/6nXO66F July 28, 2024, 12:09:40 PM |

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset
I think some gp5000S TR tires might be smaller due to tolerances, i doubt the rims are differing in size. There's some chance it's user error as well September 22, 2024, 03:34:15 AM |

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
wtf? the frame made of cheese? Lightcarbon admitted this was a mistake on their QC. Hope that am the only one, and that no one has or will receive this “cheese” frame September 26, 2024, 12:18:16 PM |

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
Quite many modern allrounder bikes have square shaped downtubes, Giant or Bianchi, for instance. It's not much a deal from perfomance perspective. But it indeed hurts my eyes...I figure that are squared down tube is an easy way to add stiffness without adding extra weight November 21, 2024, 08:48:18 PM |

Re: Elite wheels black friday
Bro stop shilling your blog everywhere. You are basically the only one on the whole internet who thinks edges are soft. Maybe get a better bike and some good tires for your tests kubackje: Slightly edited your post, sir. You have a fair point about him shilling his blog but no reason to insult his work. Looks like he's working hard on it and is improving. At least it's not AI-generated content which is so commonplace now. Petr from Cyclists Hub: He has a point. Out of 17 posts you've linked your blog 5 times. You're free to promote it here and we appreciate your engagement with the community but maybe chill on pushing it so much and dropping links a bit. You've got 5 do-follow links here that I'll leave which should help your SEO. From this point forward, I think providing useful answers and having your blog promoted in your profile as you do should be sufficient. Thanks for understanding. -Sitar November 22, 2024, 07:55:14 AM |

Re: Power meter suggestions for T47bb bike
This is probably not going to be a popular opinion on this forum, but I would buy a used Quarq. I have had two Chinese power meters, one stopped reading cadence (no power without cadence) and the other broke during a rainy 600k. The Magene seems to have good reviews and seems like an overall solid product, but I have 3 Quarqs, and I purchased each one used for less than the price of a new Magene. Between my Quarqs, I have over 20,000 miles and have had zero issues. 2 of them are currently on T47x85.5 bikes-- no issues there either.

Re: Speeder Cycling SC-R55D
Got my frame size 51 Took about a month for it to be shipped and 20 days for shipping, eu tax prepaid On first look everything seems good, mounts are faced, no rough bearing seats, bb is faced and inside seems smooth Only the headtube to downtube juction has something yellow? on the inside of the frame not sure what that is, everything else is smooth. Was expecting the frame to be a bit lighter but its not too bad. Weights: Frame with rear and front derailleur hanger and bottlecage bolts: 930g Fork uncut: 397g Seatpost(0mm offset) with saddle clamp: 178g Thru axles: 73g UDH: 28g Will post after i build the bike, still waiting for farsports hypers to be shipped. A bit of an oversight on my part, deda super box stem only allows 2 brake cables and 1 di2 cable, i had in mind to run 2 cables to the junction in downtube and then to battery, will probably file the stem a bit to make space for 2 di2 cables, should be fine i guess? https://ibb.co/yRJz8M4 https://ibb.co/7VDmsrB https://ibb.co/Wk675V0 https://ibb.co/kSf590T https://ibb.co/ZfK36HV https://ibb.co/dkmtn1v https://ibb.co/SyRKsmW https://ibb.co/sJjZ3Y4 November 25, 2024, 02:04:02 PM |
