Can anyone confirm a rear 210x55 shock will result in 150mm of rear travel? Thinking of scrapping my AM831 build as it is taking a little longer than I'd like to ship the frame, and all of the parts except the BB will transfer over to this frame.

While waiting for the Haideli frame (any updates about production & shipping?) I am scouting the market for the wheels; my idea is also 30 mm inner width carbon rim and DT350 hubs.
BTLOS and lightbicycle are the most reviewed and so the most expensive: well over 1000 $ with shipping.
I got a quote from xmcarbon.cn and https://www.carbonal.com.cn/ for the same setup for around 800$ shipped; if the quality is also cheaper I don't know.
I can just say that in 2013 I bought an hardtail frame and carbon wheels from carbonal and I am still using the bike, no failures, no complains.

Something interesting I noticed on that listing though is that it looks as though they may be offering custom paint/color options. "tell us color number" could just mean of the few colors we were shown here though.

There is a shop near me that does carbon repair and can do x-ray service on frames (spyder composites). I am thinking about reaching out to them for a quote on an X-ray and, depending on price, getting the scan done on the frame when I receive it and sharing the results here to give us all a better idea of the integrity of the frame before we all send it on the trails. Let me guys know what you think, and whether or not it would be completely unnecessary or useless and something I should just not do.

How do you guys think this frame would ride with 150mm fork up front and 150mm in the back? Do you think it would be a better idea to include a 10mm crown spacer, or should it ride nicely?

I don't know who noticed this:

https://haidelibicycle.en.alibaba.com/product/1600232038602-825866874/NEW_Upgraded_29er_boost_T1000_Full_Suspension_Bike_Carbon_Frame_MTB_Disc_brake_mountain_bicycle_frame_29.html?spm=a2700.shop_index.89.2.29214766xxZ3JX

Haideli sells "NEW Upgraded 29er boost T1000 Full Suspension..." so, is this the version that solves the issues and that we will eventually receive?
They claim the carbon is T1000, which is stronger but very seldom used due to price; And it is brittle.
40 days shipping time they say.

My guess is that they mean it's an upgrade from other completely different previously released mtb frames that they sell, just a hunch.

There may be a better place to ask this, but I will be needing to purchase some tools for this build as well. Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive toolset that will provide most of what I will need for a bike build? Or a list of the tools needed? Or perhaps just point me in the right direction? I'm taking this on as a fun project and also so that I will understand all of the workings of my new bike build, so that I will be better prepared to provide my own maintenance and repairs when the time comes. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

was thinking maybe something along the lines of this...
https://www.amazon.com/Bikehand-Quality-Bike-Bicycle-Repair/dp/B01N07NZ2R/ref=asc_df_B01N07NZ2R/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=242055571124&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6099126133571840118&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031947&hvtargid=pla-464656180002&psc=1

or if that is not enough maybe this one...

Just joined the forum, ordering an AM 831, they promise reasonable shipping time; we will see.
What I don't understand is why it looks like many people ordered the frame but apparently nobody has received it or reviewed it; so I'm buying blind, the frame is cheaper than a branded one but not cheap in absolute. 9 years ago I bought an hardtail frame and I'm still using it and I'm satisfied; full suspension has much more mechanics and things that could be wrong.
finger crossed...

It is because they haven't been manufactured yet. As far as I can tell front triangles are done, but there was an issue with the rear and they are fixing it before sending the frames out.

You guys think a M can fit a 200mm fox dropper? I have someone locally who can give me a great deal second hand, but I don't know if there will be enough room.

A local bike tech won't be able to tell you if it's any good unless they can compare a stock SC hightower link with the one we're going to pull from here. You'd need to have them side by side for any meaningful comparison. The Cascade link is pretty pricey to not know.

Oh I know, was thinking of buying it, bringing it to a tech, and having them have a good look at the two before installation. If it wont work, I wouldn't install and would send back. I'm going to tell cascade that is my intention before buying, and hoping they will play ball.

On another topic, so we know that this has no flip chip. Are we thinking the geo will be more similar to the hightower v2 in the high or low configuration?

Fork - 2021 Fox 36 Factory Grip2 150mm w/ Kashima coating in matte black
Shock - Fox DPX2 210x55mm (takeoff from a stumpjumper evo)
Handlebars - Enve M6 25mm rise x 780mm length
Stem- Salsa Guide 40mm
Drivetrain - Shimano SLX M7100
Chainring - Absolute black 32T oval chainring
Cranks - Shimano SLX 165mm
Chain - KMC gold chain
Seatpost - Oneup 180mm dropper (still deciding on this one), not sure how deep of a dropper the frame can fit, and also may get a kashima fox transfer to match the fork if I can find a good second hand deal.
Brakes - SRAM Code R
Rotors - haven't decided yet but im thinking 200mm front and back if the frame can accommodate it.
Saddle - Charge Spoon brown saddle
Grips - Deity knucklebuster gum color
Wheels - some cheap aluminum ($300) specialized wheelset that was a takeoff from a stumpjumper with shimano hubs
Crown spacer - whatever 6mm is in stock when im building
Headset - Oneup EDC v2
Pedals - Raceface Chester mint color, although these may clash, and i may go for black in the end or the deity bronze pedals
Tires - Maxxis Minion DHR II front and back with gum color sidewalls, 2.4 in back and 2.6 up front.

Got the frame and fork in matte black; going for a matte black, brown, and gold color scheme. I think it should look very tasteful.

... and I can relate the anticipation is killing me!

It's only been ridden about 5 times, still looks new, so I don't think it needs a service just yet. And thanks! I'll look into that.
