One time I commented on a YT video that velo is sketchy with their after sales service and pointed to this Chris guy and the countless mentions on Weight weenies. I was told I was making defamatory statements and that I should rather look on Chinertown. How the wheel turns... Velo is not a great company to support!

If that went any more wrong than it already has, who knows the permanent damage! Crazy stuff...

Glad you made it home in one piece!

Strange, I've advised Magene HRM bands, powermeters and home trainers to folks here and all are happy. And their support from Aliexpress messaging, has always been great.

When I swap wheels with different hubs (dt-swiss, carbon-ti, hope, novatec), I generally need to realign callipers.
Are you having them off to the point where you can't even properly align the callipers?

I had ... still have horrific experiences with their products. I really gave their products a good bash, but they didnt even last two weeks, and this was the same for all the replacements I got. Eventally I stopped asking for replacements and moved on.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / My first build
« on: May 30, 2022, 08:18:04 AM »
Hi All!

Long time reader / thread troller.

I am in the market for a new bike now with a budget of around €2000 / €2500.
On one hand  there is the second hand market which I am not ruling out ( have my eyes on a TCR SL or Focus Izalco Max 2018 ) and on the other, I have always wanted to go the open mold route from when I started riding around 15 years ago.

I am looking at a light weight build, something around 6.5kg which is a long term goal or even something around 7.3kg thats a bit more aero. The frame I am looking for is one that you can whip around nicely. I am a light build and currently I have a Fuji sst 2.1 which has almost no compliance and rattles my brain every time I ride lol. It is waaayyy too stiff for me and it bullies my into submission rather than the other way around!

Here is a list of what I have looked at.
The Factor frame I really like for the geometry and the weave but my gut says to steer away from it.

https://www.flybike-asia.com/product/136.html ( looks nice and nimble )

https://de.dhgate.com/product/2018-costelo-speedmachine-ultralight-carbon/421554328.html ( there is a guy on insta who bought this frame and had a chat with him and have not heard anyhting bad about costelo yet )

Dengfu is on my mind, but have read some posts on their after sales not being great.

Input would be greatly appreciated!
