I can confirm that two bottles fit quite well in a large FM936 frame!

Thats basically my setup. I run two full size bottles in my L frame, only real difference is I machined my adapter out of aluminum and attached it with a Wolftooth extension

29er / Re: XC frame comparable to Specialized Epic Evo (110mm travel)?

Does anybody have concerns that advertised frame is not EVO?

I think there will be doubts no matter what until you have the frame in your hands.

And as far as the Epic FS frame without Brain, that would be my preference personally. People have been removing the brain for a while now. Getting it serviced is a pain from what I’ve read.

It's around 28.4 lbs with pedals.

What size frame? I was a little sad when my 936 came in around high 27's with full XT, carbon rims and rekon race tires... but I got the standard layup not superlight. I was a little sad until I remembered that my trail bike is 36lbs lol.

Finished with my LCFS918. I really like the lines of the frame. The quality of the frame is as always with Light Carbon great. This was really a smooth build without problems. And the bike is light, size L about 12 KG.

Dammit that looks great, lol... Deore groupset?

First post: just made a deposit on a 936 with 120mm - available in 3-4months. Shock stroke is 42.5, same as NS Synonym with 120mm. What are my options? I found some RS and Fox options. Also a DVO Topaz - fit? Cane Creek DBAir - fit? Manitou Mara seems to be 40 or 45 only. Are there any options where I can adjust stroke easily myself?
Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom :)

I'm using the Mara with 45 and used a 2.5mm shim to reduce travel.

I don't recommend DIY painting. Especially if you don't own equipment or place to do.

Also if you crash and cause chipped/scratched paint, you will understand the real pain. ;D

soooo you're telling me I have an excuse to buy more tools?!?! Sign me up!!!

Anyone think using a needle file is likely to work, to remove the clear attached to and around the bearings?  Any other ideas?

Needle file is waaaaay to abrasive to use on a CF frame... personally I would just press them out and fix whatever damage happened... I would also communicate to Carbonda that it's not cool you need to deal with this.

Regarding the sag; For me, I need the SID luxe stuffed with volume spacers to get 35% sag at full pressure, which also results in never using the bottom quarter or so of the travel. My hope is that a bigger shock without volume spacers will use more of the travel. The desire to lift the sag into to 25-30% range is due to the extremely low bottom bracket; when tired in an XC race then minimising the need to manage pedal strikes over roots is desirable! If the sag is a bit less, then the bottom bracket is marginally higher. It probably doesn't make much difference, but having low sag makes you mad at those points!

How much do you weigh? I was led to believe more volume means you would need more pressure to maintain the same sag, thats why I can't use the Manitou Mara Pro without buying the smaller can.

Do you know if the leverage curve and other suspension kinematics are posted somewhere for either the FM909 or FM936?  I thought I saw them once, but the search here sucks.

try looking... I responded to you last time you asked with a direct link.

What headset type does this frame use? If it's ZS it could take -2 deg angleset right?

IS42/52

I believe light carbon and diy carbon both sell that frame as well

https://geared.bike/jack-rabbit

Found another US based company selling the FM936.  At least it's half the cost as the Boltcutter Groove Pony

That’s basically the same price as buying from Carbonda

I made one for my fiancé. 10.7kg.. Parts from an old bike. Plan to change suspension 120mm front and change rear normal shox whitout remote locking because the drinking bottle can't fit now without violence

I’ve seen this issue on other bike frames with similar shock setups… just make a small 20-30* wedge to post between the bottle cage and frame. Angles it enough to give you a little extra space.

How is the climbing ability on this frame? I keep going back and forth over what direction I should go, 909 for xc and use my overforked 936 as a trail bike, 1001, 1002... everything around me is technical climbing and my skills....well I have no skills, so I need all the help I can get.
