@eico seatpost clamp cover is original from Specialized SL7 Tarmac?

Yep! Sits perfectly!

1. Yes. It rotates so cannot be perfectly flush with headtube
2. The stem should have small indentations where those pins go. Make sure you align the stem exactly so indentations match with pins on spacers.
3. Yes. I am not a fan of that VB cap. You can't have those fancy caps on Ali express fit on it.

Thanks coffeebreak!

Working on it...
I thought I got all parts I need upfront (before the frame arrives) but I forgot the flat mount adapter for the 160mm rear disc ...  ::)

I don't thinkt thats normal,
first check the length of the fork
second check the expander, sometimes it happens that it becomes loose

The fork is not yet cut and the expander not finally mounted. I was just checking how things belong together and was encountering the above questions.

I finally received my frame and am really surprised by the quality.

Now the first questions come after I have looked at the headset.

1. is a distance of about 1 mm between top tube and top cover normal?
2. is it correct that the stem rests on the small pins of the spacer?
3. the standard top cap is exchanged for the cap from Velobuild?

Thanks a lot! :)

I’ve got about 250 miles on my vb-r 168 after some initial problems ( some my own) I’m pretty impressed compared to my tried and true pinarello f10

Hey Berzerko!

Nice build - thanks for sharing. This is an Ultrega Di2 (the new one?), isn't it?
I want to build up the 168 frame with a Di2 group set as well. Did you face any issues building up with the group? How and where did you fix the battery inside the frame/seat post?

Thanks,
eico

Hi Peter,

I‘m interested in following configuration:
- DC2844
- Disc (center lock)
- Chosen Hub
- Carbon Spokes
- Front Axle 12 / 100mm
- Rear Axle 12 / 148mm
- Shimano freehub

What would be the final weight of the wheelset ?
What would be price for the configuration and shipping (tax prepaid) to Germany?

Thanks in advance!

Eico

Edit: To compare can you please let me know weight and price for same configuration with DT240EXP and Sapim CX-Ray? Thanks!

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / VeloBuild VB-R-168 Sizing
« on: October 26, 2022, 06:12:37 AM »
Dear Community,

I have been a silent reader here in the forum for a long time, especially in the almost 100 page long thread about the VB-R-168. Many thanks to all of you who share your experiences and knowledge with others!

Now I am about to buy a VB-R-168 frame but I am totally unsure about the size.
I am 181 cm and have an inseam of 83 cm. My saddle height on my Rose X-Lite is currently about 73 cm. However, the Rose is also a 57 and feels too big.

During my holidays I always had 54 cm bikes (Trek, Pinarello) and got on well with them. But now I'm unsure about the size on the Spezialized homepage. They say that at 181 cm I am between a 56 cm and 58 cm frame.

Do you have any tips for me?

To make the thread interesting for others, we could use it to post your size, inseam etc. and the size of the frame you have ordered. And maybe also a tendency whether you would rather take a size smaller or larger next time.

Thank you very much!

eico
